3 Amigos – These guys have been kicking tail in WoW PvP for years, and with their powers combined, are looking to take home the title this year. With Snutz playing Affliction Warlock, Venruki on Frost Mage, and Cdew keeping them alive as a Resto Shaman, this team looked unstoppable last weekend, taking out both Next Gen and Penny For Your Thought without dropping a single game. With tons of tournament experience under their belt, 3 Amigos is definitely looking strong for this year’s World Championship.
Death Innovators – Although not as well-known as the other qualifying teams, these guys certainly did well for themselves last weekend. With Dhorothy as a Marksmanship Hunter, Maldiva as an Affliction Warlock, and Kaskä playing Resto Shaman, Death Innovators fought through Stranger Danger and Trap Life to claim their BlizzCon tickets. They don’t have a ton of experience playing on the big stage, but don’t count that against them – Death Innovators are out for blood, and they’re looking to spill it at BlizzCon.
Penny For Your Thought – This team had a bit tougher road to travel to earn their place at the 2014 WoW Arena World Championship. Composed of Novoz, playing as Elemental Shaman and Frost Mage; Thugonomicz, playing both Affliction and Destruction on his Warlock; and Sharpstorm, as a Mistweaver Monk, Penny For Your Thought found themselves in the lower bracket after a second-round loss to 3 Amigos. They had to fight their way past Skill-Capped, last year’s BlizzCon World Champions, in order to earn their tickets to this year’s event. Now they’re out for revenge on the Arena stage at BlizzCon 2014.
Any one of these three teams could be the next BlizzCon champions, and come November 8th and 9th, they’ll be battling it out against other teams from all over the world, each one every bit as hungry for the victor’s prize. We’ll have more information coming soon as BlizzCon 2014 approaches!
