Restoration (0/7/54)
In general there are 2 version of Resto-Shaman-specs. Some Shamans prefer to put 8 points in Elemental-tree to get "Elemental Warding", but most put 7 points in Enhancement tree to get 5% mana and to reduce the cooldown of Grounding Totem (very important against caster dps teams).
Enhancement (7)
| Talent | | Description |
|---|
 | Ancestral Knowledge | 5/5 | Better choice than Shield Specialization cause you can't block, while casting. |
 | Guardian Totems | 2/2 | Against caster based dps team its important to use Grounding as often as possible. |
Restoration (54)
| Talent | | Description |
|---|
 | Improved Healing Wave | 5/5 | A must for spam healing your target against burst damage. |
 | Tidal Focus | 0/5 | Some prefer this talent, some Totem focus, depends on your playstyle. |
 | Improved Reincarnation | 0/2 | Only really useful in world PvP or battlegrounds. In arenas, this talent is completely worthless. |
 | Ancestral Healing | 3/3 | Important against melees. It gives your target another buff and lessens the chance your Earthshield will be dispelled from your target. |
 | Totemic Focus | 5/5 | Some teams you play against will focus your totems when they are dropped. It is important that you keep them up. |
 | Nature's Guidance | 3/3 | Very important that your purges and your shocks aren't resistet as often. |
 | Healing Focus | 5/5 | No questions. Must have talent. |
 | Totemic Mastery | 1/1 | The extra 10 yards gives you more room to work with for totems. A Must Have. |
 | Healing Grace | 0/3 | Completely worthless talent for PvP. |
 | Restorative Totems | 5/5 | Need these points to get Mana Tide Totem. But in some matches the other team doesn't have the time to destroy your mana spring totem and it gives you a nice mana advantage. |
 | Tidal Mastery | 5/5 | Not a must, but some critical heals give you time to do other stuff like Shocking other healers. |
 | Healing Way | 3/3 | This talent gives you 2 advantages. First, you are able to heal against really big burst damage. Second, it is a magic buff on your focused target, so it is harder for the other team to dispell the buffs/earthshield on your healing target. |
 | Nature's Swiftness | 1/1 | Needs no explaination. A Must. |
 | Focused Mind | 3/3 | Great talent. A must have in any Restoration build. |
 | Purification | 5/5 | Extra healing? A Must. |
 | Mana Tide Totem | 1/1 | Very usefull, if you put it out at the right time and place. Otherwise the enemy Team should destroy it really fast. Put it behind pillars, etc... |
 | Nature's Guardian | 5/5 | Important Talent. Gives you a nice heal about every 5 secs if you are being focused. |
 | Nature's Blessing | 3/3 | About 120-150 +heal. A must. |
 | Improved Chain Heal | 0/2 | Useless in most 2v2 or 3v3 because as a Shaman you try to get out of line of sight lots of the time and so the distance to your healing target ist too big. In 5's chain heal may be used sometimes, but not really often. |
 | Earth Shield | 1/1 | One of the most important Resto Talents. Gives you or your target a nice heal even if you are silenced, and your target has 30% chance to ignore spell interruption. Problem is, that it is easily dispelled and costs a great amount of mana to recast. So "Healing Way" and "Ancestral Healing"-buffs protect it a bit. |
