PvP Combat (5/54/12) by Maarko

Really really good consistent damage and Killing Spree + BF gives you that extra bit of burst when you need it. On top of that you have the Deadly Throw interrupt in Throwing Spec. New Nerves of Steel is pretty awesome as well.

I'd like to submit my opinion on this and I hope it's not viewed as blasphemy: but consider losing the 5 crit in malice and putting it into lightning reflexes. You'd take less dmg from the dodge and hopefully deal more with unfair advantage. I'm not a theory crafter just my humble opinion. I'd like your opinions on it too.

You really shouldn't go into Unfair Advantages unless you are one of those people that always gets focused on.

I think having initiative in this spec might improve it as u will get a energy issue when trying to put up 5 combos for ks (when AR is on cd). in my opinion http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=fZhgcb0bxqMdrgRte0fb0h is a better spec for arena. Feel free to talk shit of it, but im doing alot better with this spec then the one above.
DeliwioFeb 3, 2009 - 7:37 AM (HideShow)
Excuse me, forgot imp siniste; http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=fZGtmb0bxqMdrgote0fb0h. Imp gouge is good cause of the massive gains in energy u get with viatlity while its up. Camo is own preference and rather putting on precision instead of savage combat is cause u can avoid gearing that much for hit and rather gain more AP/critt through gems/gear ect then by specing savage combat which only grants u 4% more AP.

3/3 imp gouge is needed. move 3 points from malice into 3/3 imp eviscerate. grab glyph of sinister strike. 2/2 weapon expertise is a must.

having played deep poisons 54/0/7 s3 and s4 (and variations) I highly recommend moving 3/3 mod into 3/3 camo. This spec is best when played defensively with a healer, MoD isn't as useful in that senario.

I would also consider working 3 points into ruthlessness. 8/51/12 would be a higher quality build.

As stated, combat pvp builds tend to have issues in generating combo points. glyph of sinister strike and ruthlessness would be very helpful in that respect.

Of course this spec would only really work in 2v2 playing with a healer if you timed your cooldown usage well you would be able to burst somthing down very quickly. With nerves of steel it makes double dps team's burst easier to manage for example rogue mage. Drawbacks however are that if your burst fails you may have to wait a while for you cooldowns to be up so you can try again.

See how this one rolls for ya? Let me know what you think
SkulldriverMay 5, 2009 - 2:08 PM (HideShow)
Ah bloody hell that other lie didnt go thru. Reason why I think think this can be a strong Combat PvP build is because you have that higher top-end damage with maces then that melee haste helps add more dps. Then that Mace Spec adds that ignore 15% armor plus youre Serrated Blades, therefore more armor down and if you happen to have that Grims Toll Trinket from Naxx and its the only decent trink you have as a passive then roll with that for more of some ignore armor. Then with all that armor you are going thru, you are dealing more damage with all youre other points, pop a Blade Flurry and more dps. Then youre ripping out those finishers w/ out a worry about missing, then youre poison targets recieve more damage pop a Blade Flurry then a Killing Spree then thats alot of damage coming at them. This should do great against any of those Plate-wearers. Let me know what ya think

i respec'd the 7/51/13 and i love it. I role with a ret pally and we have had some nice success against all teams. this spec works best i think against resto druids a kidney shot the KS = win. we have had 1/2 of the teams with a resto druid leave arena cause we burn them so fast. the only downside is that i cant catch any1 fleeing gonna try the boot enchant and see how this helps

Bad
ALL That is BAD.
Get setup and spec 0-53-18. Malice = Crit --> Crit= Useless and overrated stat in Arena. Get Ghostly Strike and enjoy your 100% dodge (Greatness trinket+Gstrike+evasion+base dodge (including lightning reflexe)).
Idk if anyone talked about it but as combat you NEED 3weapons--> 1x Slow MH 2.60speed+(wound poison - Berserking Enchant) - 1x Fast OH 1.4/1.5speed(crippling poison - Titanium weapon chain) - 1x Slow OH 2.60speed+(wound poison - titanium weapon chain) with a Macro, /swap OH weapon for Kspree.

Hi is this a good spec for pvp?
DraedoAug 12, 2009 - 8:43 AM (HideShow)
Well no... honestly i think its best to use the mutilate build... its the most commonly used but its effective. Combat doesn't do much for PvP its less burst and more dps for PvE mainly i guess. Although there are some good combat specs that leave out killing spree and prey on the weak. I have never seen a good combat spec for PvP that uses killing spree. I have tried many.

Have a look at this set up. Similar to the one shown above but with a few changes that will definitely make difference. Just remeber that evicerate is your main finisher in this spec and Sstrike is being used as your primary attack here. I've put the points into imp SS. Seems like i bit of a waste i know but you need to watch you energy when tryin to get that super evicerate. i chop two thirds off my oponents life bar most of the time when i tested this. I really feel that the glyphs i've chosen help too.
NeveynAug 31, 2009 - 9:08 AM (HideShow)
Draedo sorry but there are a few flaws in your spec tbh(expertise talent for pvp isn't of any use)Here is the one i use:

http://www.wowhead.com/?talent#fhZrt0bxfxoMurGRte0fd:0kNzVm

The reason you should spec into Lightning reflexes, bessides the haste buff, is to maximise the benefit from unfair advantage, same reason I specced into Ghostly Strike.

Do keep in mind that a pvp spec can vary according to your playstyle and group composition.

More of a PvE spec imo
