Talent Specs

PvP Combat (5/54/12)

Really really good consistent damage and Killing Spree + BF gives you that extra bit of burst when you need it. On top of that you have the Deadly Throw interrupt in Throwing Spec. New Nerves of Steel is pretty awesome as well.

Mutilate (42/5/24)

Pretty standard Mutilate PVP spec with prep. Not sure if Initiative is even worth it as mutilate since you already have mass combo points. Could stick two of em into Imp Ambush and the other into camo.

So, first I want to say that although this specc is very common and played by many rogues out there, it is not the ultimate best specc. You can always pick some other talents if you have special purposes or are running a unique combo. So feel free to add your suggestions, but I think this specc is a very solid thing to start with.

Short FAQ:

Q: Why dont you pick FA about FW?
A: I've run some simulations and tried out a lot at the puppets, but FA is not superior to FW, especially because you just have 2 points (if you dont drop one point at Murder or Deadened Nerves), and also more especially at an arena fight.
Of course you can say "Sometimes the +2 Energy give me an extra Mutilate at exact the right time!", but then you can also say "My enemy was at 2% Health, I had killed him if I had +4% offensive power", so that's no real argument.

Q: Finally Serrated Blades over Initiative?
A: Although I am a big fan of Initiative, I dropped it because Armor Pen. got a buff in 3.1. It still sucks to do Garrote - Mutilate and then just to have 3 CP, but the overall damage is worth it in my opinion.

Q: Some Variation with Blood Splatter?
A: I mainly keep up a bleed on rogues to prevent them from vanishing and getting away and not for the dps, but for a Heal/DD Team it might be a good idea to specc it.

Q: Improved Ambush?
A: Not worth the points imo, you can do better things with an opener (at least in arena fights), but if it works well for you, why not?

Im playing with a moonkin, so I have a demand for burst (so im speccing imp. Evis), and I also want to stay a healable and don't die in one stun, so I get Deadened Nerves.

Cold Blood + ShStep (25/2/44)

Will be nice in the first weeks, when people will go down after two 5cp-CB-Evis. With HaT you have a cheaper Sealfate, but you can also drop it for getting 5/5 DW. With ShS you will have a huge advantage at the mobility over Mutilate.

Hemo CB/Prep (21/0/50)

Hey guys. This is the spec im currently running, at least until I can get my hands on a KT dagger. I don't have much experience using shadow dance, and as such I developed this as an alternative to those who aren't using daggers, but still want to utilize subtelty as their main pvp talent tree. This is already in general use I'm sure, but as it is not in the Rogue Talent Tree section, i felt it deserved a formal post.

The build focuses on fast generation of combo points through a cheap hemo and honor among thieves. The playstyle is more hit and run esque, as the potential for burst with two vanishes/cold bloods is enormous. A quick CS into Garrote with a cold blood eviscerate is a deadly combo against nearly any opponent.

I find the build very effective right now, as very few people have a decent amount of resilience. I run Mage/Rogue right now in two's, which justifies me choosing not to take blood spatter or filthy tricks - games just don't last long enough for either to be vital.

Shadow Dance Daggers (17/0/54)

Since all Shadow Dance specs are largely built around yellow damage, Lethality is taken in the place of Dual Wield Spec. Possible variations in this spec include dropping one point in Serrated Blades for Ghostly Strike, and dropping 3/3 Setup for 3/3 Camouflage or 3/3 Initiative.

Shadow Dance Hemorrhage (17/0/54)

Again, Lethality over Dual Wield spec, can get Initiative or Camouflage instead of Setup, or drop Master of Subtlety for Deadliness.
