Talent Specs

High Burst, 3v3 two DPS/Healer (0/51/20)

This build focuses around high burst with both Chimaera Shot and Lock and Load talents, as well as Hunter survivability with Survival Tactics, Imp Wing Clip, Entrapment and Surefooted.

I will be utilizing Disengage, Monkey and TSA Glyphs to further increase survivability and burst.

This sort of build will be my preferred for a two DPS/healer 3v3 team with the Hunter being the source of an MS effect.

Partners for the hunter will be those which can assist peeling or DPS to complement the high burst plus now instant-cast Aimed Shot MS effect. Magical DPS from either a mage or warlock will likely complement a Hunter for a 3v3 team.

Mana can be an issue, intelligent use of AotV will be important as well as pet survivability will also be a problem with this build. A tenacity pet will be best for saving partners and self from quick gibs but it will have very low survivability on its own.

The goal is to hopefully move away from a drain focused game to a higher burst since the range of instant shots provided by this build can be very punishing to a target.

2v2 Hunter/Healer (11/41/19)

Spec built around the old Improved rez pet tri spec of times past with the added flares of the revamped talent trees and additional talent points.

The spec is designed to be used in 2v2 Hunter/Healer and in control/burst 3v3 team setups like Hunter/Ret/Healer, Hunter/DK/Healer, Hunter/Rogue/Healer, Hunter/Warlock/Healer.

Swing Points: (Tailor to your specific wants while maintaining the function of the build)

1/2 GFTT > 2/3 Focused Aim 2/2 Savage Strikes > 2/5 Imp Tracking 3/3 Imp WC > 2/3/3 Entrapment

Marksmanship/Survival (0/41/30)

You want full points in LnL (since its 100% on traps and fully controllable burst) and Imp Wing clip as a 20% spammable proc is much more reliable than counterattack is (unfortunately). RWS gives much more of an overall boost than Combat Experience as well.

If you're worried about disarm protection you can easily have a switchable offhand with a weapon chain when you're facing rogue comps. Pushback protection can be useful but Focused Aim will generally throw you over the PvP hit cap, this talent is more of a personal preference really.

Survival (0/15/56)

The typical Survival build without Counterattack, suited for any bracket. Focused on lowering trap CD's along with 4-piece bonus for double frost trap goodness, and minimizing Disengage CD (in combination with its glyph).

Swing points:

  • 1/2 GftT vs. 1/3 Focused Aim
  • Surefooted/Entrapment/Improved Wing Clip: Pick two. if you're getting Freedom spammed you might be able to neglect Surefooted.
  • 2/5 Hunting Party vs. 2/2 Point of no Escape
