Talent Specs
Survival - CC and Moveability (0/15/56)
Survival build - CC and Moveability. Typical Survival build w/o Counterattack, suited for any bracket. Focused on lowering trap cd's along with 4-piece for double frost trap godness, and minimizing Disengage cd (in combination with its glyph).
Swing points:
1/2 Go For The Throat vs. 1/3 Focused Aim
Surefooted/Entrapment/Imp.Wing Clip: Pick two. Incase of having freedom for yourself, then you can neglect Surefooted, Entrapment also adviced if kiting with frost trap is good with your combo.
2/5 Hunting Party vs. 2/2 Point of no Escape
Marksmanship - Aggresive (0/53/18)
Aggressive Marksmanship Talents
One of the major things in this spec, is the loss of mana, some hunters tend to have mana problems but it all really depends on the combo you play. I myself play hunter - priest and hunter - priest - warlock, therefore I do not mind my mana that much as most of our games is use first cc rotation, wait for trinket or bubble repeat rotation collect points. Unless any of this rotation fails obviously. But that means most games I barely use all of my mana within those 2 cc rotations that we pop, and if we happen to survive ourselves for longer than that, then the next few seconds would not be where we got our kill off anyways, as we are waiting for our cooldowns.
Marksmanship Talents - 53 point(s)
- Lethal Shots - Rank 5/5
Being a ranged DPS this pretty much covers itself.
- Careful Aim - Rank 3/3
More attack power is more damage, and more damage is always nice.
- Mortal Shots - Rank 5/5
Boosting our damage as well as providing us with access to Aimed Shot
- Improved Arcane Shot - Rank 3/3
Now this is where this specs starts getting different than others, we want to get as much damage on our arcane shot as possible, for our Lock And Load to come in useful. (Read top for explanation)
- Aimed Shot - Rank 1/1
The most important shot we have, it provides us with a decent amount of damage as well as providing us with a Healing Reduction on the target, must have for any hunter.
- Improved Stings - Rank 3/3
One of the rather important talents for Marksmanship that I see some hunters tend to skip, but getting that extra damage on our chimera shot when Serpent Sting is up is insane as well as the more regeneration that we gain from draining more with Viper sting on the long fights.
- Concussive Barrage - Rank 2/2
Getting a dazed effect after doing Chimera shot is really nice, it makes you able to do that little bit of more DPS before the target gets LOS, sweet little talent.
- Readiness - Rank 1/1
The reason Marksmanship is so good, it gives you so much to play with. Being able to reset your cooldowns at any point during the game is insane and can give you that little extra something if used correctly, to maybe do a double-scatter-trap-silence on the opponents. Really key if used correctly.
- Barrage - Rank 3/3
While multi and volley not being the focus here, aimed shot is doing that extra damage on Aimed shot is a must.
- Combat Experience - Rank 2/2
Again more damage = more fun, so get this.
- Ranged Weapon Specialization - Rank 3/3
Again more damage = more fun, so get this as well.
- Piercing Shots - Rank 1/3
A nice shot that provides a dot on the target you are damaging, only dangerous thing is if you switch around a lot it might break your cc, but it only procs of you main damaging abilities so if you just not shoot around randomly things should be fine. Also nice for getting rogues out of vanish.
- Trueshot Aura - Rank 1/1
10% attack power, undispellable and for the whole party, what have we done to deserve this loveliness!
- Improved Barrage - Rank 3/3
Again, the more damage we can get on our main abilities the better, so pump this up.
- Master Marksman - Rank 5/5
Less mana on our best shots, and crit chance... nomnomnom we just gotta love critting.
- Rapid Recuperation - Rank 2/2
This is a personal preference I like being able to know that when I pop my Rapid Fire, I will not run OOM during it. For max damage while its up.
- Wild Quiver - Rank 3/3
Free damage is free damage, so we want this obviously.
- Silencing Shot - Rank 1/1
A obvious need simply from what it does, give us the possibility to keep either a healer or a caster busy for longer in our already insane cc rotation.
- Marked for Death - Rank 5/5
5% more damage on marked targets is a nice free damage buff as well as damage buff to all of our main abilities.
- Chimera Shot - Rank 1/1
This is an obvious one, not only Chimera shot being our top tier spell, it gives us so much utility in every possible way. We get nice damage as well as increased damage if serpent is up, free mana with viper or disarm for cc purpose on melees. I tend to, even though it most likely are not that good in the long run, to Viper priests and then just before it runs out, I refresh the viper with chimera, and so I can keep a Viper on the priest the whole fight. This is only when facing Warlock - Priest and the warlock is playing the LOS game.
Survival Talents - 18 point(s)
- Improved Tracking - Rank 2/5
Even though this is damage, and I have been going on about how important damage is, we will only drop 3 in this in order to get to the next tier, hunter is more than damage and it is now we need to pick up those other utilities.
- Hawk Eye - Rank 3/3
Being able to stand out of range from other classes is pretty big, as well as being able to do damage on max range without risking a quick swap onto you is really helpful.
- Entrapment - Rank 3/3
This is personally one of my favorite spells in the survival tree, even though it might not do a huge amount of damage this is still an extremely important spell imo. It gives us the ability to actually get away from someone once they are stuck in our face not to mention in more crowded areas as 3s and 5s it is really sweet to see this entrapment proc all around.
- Survival Instincts - Rank 2/2
Less damage taken and more damage to some of our main shots, what more can we want?
- Survivalist - Rank 2/5
Needed to get Hunter vs. Wild, but also a very nice talent that provide you with a nice sum of extra health.
- Scatter Shot - Rank 1/1
This is an amazing spell, it gives you the opportunity to do so many great things with it, either make a secured freezing arrow by making opponent CCed for 4 seconds and then throwing traps. Or simply use it aggressively and interrupt a healer or to peel enemies of your own healer.
- Survival Tactics - Rank 2/2
Trap resist is something that will make your mind goes crazy, so living without this talent is not possible unless you have the intention to go crazy. What we want from this as well is the Disengage cooldown reduction, what a lot of people do not understand is how insane this spell really is, it gives you so much more control, being able to either disengage away from people or being able to catch up with them quick or even get to them around corners is amazing, this ability needs to be knocked down in cooldown every possible way we can.
- Lock and Load - Rank 3/3
Lock and Load is an amazing talent as well, after we trap someone we get the LnL buff, which will make our next 2 Explosive or Arcane, but we will only use it on Explosive Shots, become instant and trigger no cooldown and cost no mana. So this is an obvious need need, as it gives us burst potential right after CCing someone which is where we want it.
As for glyphs we want the following:
Glyph of Serpent Sting - As chimera shot is your main damage shot, getting this little extra damage on it from the increased damage on Serpent sting is REALLY worth it, you can easily see 400-1000 extra damage being added with this one glyph
Glyph of Aimed shot - Without this glyph, your Aimed shot only last as long as its cooldown, therefore there will be a time depending on global cooldown where the target does not have the healing reduction, and can receive a full heal. We want the glyph to prevent this.
Glyph of Disengage - Disengage is one of the best new abilities that was given to the hunters, it makes us able to get around quicker or get away quicker. This is great for quickly getting in position or around a pillar, a must for any hunter and a very needed glyph.
Why pick a spider?
The spider is from the pet tree called Cunning, which provides our pet with a lot of mobility and good spells to carry with us into the party, Roar of Sacrifice being the dominant one. Roar of Sacrifice allows us to buff someone with a 20 second buff, that transfer some of the damage they take to the pet, and making the target crit immune. All things that we really want to have while doing pvp.
The spider also brings us Roar of Recovery, a great spell for regenerating some mana without losing damage. This spell is really good if used correctly, which is right at the start 80-90% mana, so that you will have it ready again later in the fight when you get low.
But the main ability from the spider is Web (Encases the target in sticky webs, preventing movement for 4 sec.) A great ability both for keeping someone in place for switches, as well getting the freezing arrow on someone or even just use it to gain distance to a target.
But to be honest, this is all a matter of taste, picking up a Serpent instead is also valuable, it has a ranged spit that can cover up for your stings. Something that you will see a lot is your stings getting dispelled and therefore a lot of your damage taken away, this can help you prevent that, and it even has the Roar of recovery and Roar of sacrifice.
Survival - Standard (0/15/56)
Standard Survival Hunter Talents
Marksmanship Talents - 15 point(s)
- Lethal Shots - Rank 5/5
Being a ranged DPS this pretty much covers itself.
- Careful Aim - Rank 3/3
The more attack power we get the higher damage we will do, so obvious.
- Mortal Shots - Rank 5/5
Boosting our damage as well as providing us with access to Aimed Shot
- Go for the Throat - Rank 1/2
Even though we aren't Beast Mastery, our pet still needs focus to get its abilities off, and as some of our pet abilities in this spec is rather important to get off, we need to make sure we can get them off on demand.
- Aimed Shot - Rank 1/1
The most important shot we have, it provides us with a decent amount of damage as well as providing us with a Healing Reduction on the target, must have for any hunter.
Survival Talents - 56 point(s)
- Improved Tracking - Rank 3/5
Even though this is damage, and I have been going on about how important damage is, we will only drop 3 in this in order to get to the next tier, hunter is more than damage and it is now we need to pick up those other utilities.

- T.N.T. - Rank 3/3
More damage on main shots = DO WANT
- Lock and Load - Rank 3/3
Lock and Load is an amazing talent as well, after we trap someone we get the LnL buff, which will make our next 2 Explosive or Arcane, but we will only use it on Explosive Shots, become instant and trigger no cooldown and cost no mana. So this is an obvious need need, as it gives us burst potential right after CCing someone which is where we want it.
- Hunter vs. Wild - Rank 3/3
More attack power is more damage which we want.
- Killer Instinct - Rank 3/3
More crit is more damage which we also want.
- Lightning Reflexes - Rank 5/5
Needed to get to expose weakness, but agility is one of our main stats so getting such a huge increase on that is very liked as it gives us both damage and doge!
- Expose Weakness - Rank 2/3
Again another Attack Power increasing spell, except this time it is a proc. The reason that we do not have 3/3 is that it is going to be up all the time anyways, having a 66% chance over 7 seconds on crits.
- Wyvern Sting - Rank 1/1
An amazing spell that makes us able to CC even more, one thing to remember is once this expires target gains a dot, so if you are to remove trap this target after a wyvern sting, then just remember to apply Scorpid sting, in order to remove the dot and not break the trap.
- Thrill of the Hunt - Rank 3/3
Free mana, and needed to get to "Hunting Party"
- Master Tactician - Rank 5/5
10% Critical Strike chance is nice even though this buff will not be up all the time getting 10% crit every now and then is very good.
- Point of No Escape - Rank 2/2
In some cases you are needed to drop a frost trap to help out your team mates survive better, so why not make the target take more damage when they are running after you on it?
- Black Arrow - Rank 1/1
A nice dot providing spell, the only bad thing is that it shares cooldown with our traps. So it's situational that you decide whatever to shoot this or get the trap down for better control.
- Sniper Training - Rank 3/3
Increased Critical Strike Chance on our kill shot is very nice, as when we fire this shot the target is already low so getting a crit on this spell will in some cases guarantee a true "kill" shot. As well as the provided damage increase from standing still, even though there is a lot of movement going on we will regularly stand still and shoot, so this provides us with extra damage.
- Hunting Party - Rank 2/3
More damage as well as mana regen buff for the whole party.
- Explosive Shot - Rank 1/1
Our main damaging ability as survivalist, this shot is a must have as survival and is where most of our damage will come from.
Spider Talents
Cunning Talents - 16 point(s)
- Dash - Rank 1/1 - To get to the target or even get away from the target.
- Great Stamina - Rank 3/3 - Survivability for your pet
- Mobility - Rank 2/2 - As the name says, offers Mobility to your pet.
- Owl's Focus - Rank 2/2 - Less focus use = more damage and more relieability on other spells
- Lionhearted - Rank 2/2 - More damage
- Cornered - Rank 2/2 - More damage and survivability for pet
- Roar of Recovery - Rank 1/1 - Mana regeneration for yourself
- Grace of the Mantis - Rank 2/2 -Survivability for the pet yet again
- Roar of Sacrifice - Rank 1/1 - Another key spell from the pet, explained above why its good.
As for glyphs we want the following:
Glyph of Explosive Shot - Explosive shot being our most used and highest damaging ability any boost we can get on this is a great help.
Beast Mastery - Standard (53/18/0)
Description of Build
- Standard BeastCleave Spec
Beast Mastery Talents - 53 point(s)
- Improved Aspect of the Hawk - Rank 5/5
Increases your damage, this can arguably be put into Endurance Training, but I have found it much way better with the extra damage on proc.
- Focused Fire - Rank 2/2
Increases your damage, and your pets damage, and as Beast Mastery whenever your pet is happy you are happy!
- Thick Hide - Rank 1/3
This brings a tiny bit of survival to your pet, but is really just needed to bring us further down the tree.

- Spirit Bond - Rank 2/2

- Intimidation - Rank 1/1
A nice little stun, great for interrupting or making sure that Freezing Arrow hits the target.
- Bestial Discipline - Rank 2/2
Focus regeneration to your pet, all of your pet's abilities and damage comes from its focus, so the more we can get of that to it, the better.
- Animal Handler - Rank 2/2
Again more damage for pet and side bonus is Master's Call Duration increased.
- Frenzy - Rank 4/5
Very important to notice we only got 4/5 to get it to 80%, this is simply because more is not needed, the buff last 8 seconds and you can be almost certain that your pet will crit at least twice within those 8 seconds to refresh it.
- Ferocious Inspiration - Rank 3/3
Increases damage done to all of your party and damage is what we want, and more damage to arcane shot is what we want(further explanation will be given under MM - Improved Arcane Shot)
- Bestial Wrath - Rank 1/1
One of the key spells in Beast Mastery, makes your pet unstoppable and increases its damage.
- Serpent's Swiftness - Rank 5/5
Again more damage is always nice, and its needed to get to Cobra Strikes.
- Longevity - Rank 3/3
Reduces cooldown on some of the most attractive spells in the Beast Mastery tree, very needed.
- The Beast Within - Rank 1/1
"THE KEY" to Beast Mastery, this spell will make you become unstoppable and do increases damage as well as having reduced cost on spells - Obviously needed.
- Cobra Strikes - Rank 2/3
Again, the more pet and crits your pet can get off, the more spells will we get triggered to improve us.
- Kindred Spirits - Rank 5/5
Damage is damage, so this is very needed, side bonus is increased movement speed, the faster we can get to our position the faster we can do damage.
- Beast Mastery - Rank 1/1
This is needed in order to tame Core Hounds - Explanation will be given on this further down.
Marksmanship Talents - 18 point(s)
- Lethal Shots - Rank 5/5
Damage is damage, and obviously good.
- Careful Aim - Rank 3/3
Converts Intellect into Attack Power which equals more damage.
- Mortal Shots - Rank 5/5
More damage on our crits, equals more burst and overall damage.
- Go for the Throat - Rank 1/2
The little regeneration that our pet got from Bestial Discipline is not enough, our pet will need this little more in order to do the maximum damage potential it has.
- Improved Arcane Shot - Rank 3/3
As we have a very limited amount of instant shots are Beast Mastery, we need to work hard on those that we have, therefore through the speccing we have been focusing on getting this up everywhere we can. Hence why we need it here too.
- Aimed Shot - Rank 1/1
Most important spell for any hunter, healing reduction on enemies means we kill them faster.
Core Hound Talents
Ferocity Talents - 20 point(s)
- Cobra Reflexes - Rank 2/2 - More damage
- Dash - Rank 1/1 - To do damage, pet needs to be on target this helps
- Bloodthirsty - Rank 2/2 - More damage and makes the pet heal itself(little)
- Spiked Collar - Rank 3/3 - More dmage
- Boar's Speed - Rank 1/1 - To do damage, pet needs to be on the target this helps
- Heart of the Phoenix - Rank 1/1 - incase your pet does die, this will give you a free instant ress.
- Spider's Bite - Rank 3/3 - More damage
- Rabid - Rank 1/1 - Again more damage on demand which we like.
- Lick Your Wounds - Rank 1/1 - Just before you need to ress it, this gives it a higher chance of surviving
- Call of the Wild - Rank 1/1 - Damage on Demand, again looooove it.
- Shark Attack - Rank 2/2 - More damage
- Wild Hunt - Rank 2/2 - Survivability and more damage!
So, why Core Hound you may ask?
Well core hound has this amazing spell called Lava Breath(Your pet breathes a double gout of molten lava at the target for [rank] Fire damage and reduces the target's casting speed by 25% for 10 sec.)
This gives the healers a harder time to heal, as well as makes your shamans job easier shocking, can also be used on casters to slow them down.
And one other thing combined with this great spell, is the pet being Ferocity. This pet tree is the one that brings by far the best damage output possible, therefore we like it!
As for glyphs we want the following:
Glyph of Bestial Wrath - The more reduction we can get on our bestial wrath spell the often we can get it off, the spell is great overall and with this glyph it makes it really lovely.
Standard Marksmanship (0/55/16)
Straight up MM damage spec, there's a couple floater points that you can go for such as trading piercing shots or improved tracking into trap mastery or survivalist if you like the extra HP. Personally I just prefer the 5% extra damage over the improved traps or the 2k extra HP.
You can also take points from efficiency into focused aim if you're low on hit from gear, as there are 2 floater points to get into the 5th tier of talents. In fact, I'd recommend taking a hit piece or two off of the honor gear and getting crit instead.
