Ret Paladin/Resto Shaman/Warrior

IF SAP IS POSSIBLE - Sap the shaman and start dps on the warrior. Cyclone the paladin couple times then cyclone the shaman. Once the shaman is out of sap the warrior will be pretty low meaning that he has to nature's swiftness or bloodlust heal. Blind or Cyclone him and just keep pressure on the warrior. The warrior might get BoPed. If he does, Cyclone him until it's gone and switch the dps to the paladin so the druid don't get interrupted while CCing. The only reason we don't go on ret paladin first is because he could bubble or BoP out the pressure and just toss BoF on the warrior which might cause some trouble for the druid. It is doable, but I don't recommend it because kiting/CCing a Warrior and Ret Pally is kinda dangerous.

If you focus the warrior, he's going to get on your druid with the ret pally, and kill him in 6 seconds with all that rage being fed. If he gets bopped, he's going to shield reflect and bandage himself.

When I ran that combo (I run it with a druid instead of shaman now), people getting on the ret pally was still the most effective way to get us under control. Freedom is harder to get off when he's stunned/getting his ass kicked (sometimes he needs freedom for himself in those situations), and a lone warrior can only do so much against a free reign druid.

Your suggestion could be the best one, it just doesn't seem like it from my perspective. Just trying to add some commentary, not hate on your guide.

I agree and I've been using that strategy too. This is the latest strat that I've been using and I just wanted to share the CC rotations/targets to be effective and how to take control over the game. Thanks for the commentary =D. Ah and just a tip for druids out there if a warrior spellreflect bandage in a BoP just toss a rank 1 moonfire and cyclone him.

The strategy my team uses is to split DPS w/ the rogue on to the mage and myself on to the rogue. Generally rogue>mage and warrior > rogue meaning their priest has to heal 2 targets that are being hit hard. With the druid free from the rogue because of hamstrings on him ( the rogue will most likely try and fight the warrior back ) the druid can CC the priest and put him under pressure.

We've had absolutely no luck against this setup, our rogue tries to sap the shaman, then he and our warrior gets on the ret pally. But as soon as they do, the warrior and ret pally blow up our rogue. I can't heal through all the damage. When I try and cyclone/root their warrior most of my appempts are shocked by the shaman or his totems nullify them. Even if they don't blow up our rogue instantly they eventually catch up to me and JoJ and blow me up in seconds.

The best we've tried was focusing the warrior, and cycloning the pally to try and prevent a BoP when the war's at 30-40%. Even if he gets it off, warrior will most likely be sword + board already, and due to BoP not be able to attack until he right clicks BoP off or let its duration run out.

also on a side note make sure everyone is looking out for windfury totems... those must die ASAP thats where the insane bursts are comming from

I agree Fierss we have the same strategy on my w/r/d team

What my team usually does is the rogue opens with a sap on the shammmy if possible, then we nuke the pala as soon as the ret pala uses BoF our rogues KS's him meanwhile im ccing thier warrior as soon as the shammy comes out of sap i then cycl this then puts alot of pressure on him forcing him to trinket or the pala to bubble, by this point the pala bubbles, we then switch to the warrior and we have our warrior intimidating shouts thier shaman, then we switch back to the pala and FULL nuke to him and we have blind ready. can be hard if the pala gets the seal on me >.>

We have been trying to burst down the pally.. but the warrior ends up not being able to controlled effectivly.. when the pally bubbles we try and burst the shammy down but it doesnt seem to be effective.. ill try this out

how do you beat druid ret pally warrior ?
MeatsnacksJul 5, 2008 - 2:31 PM (HideShow)
when we go for the ret pally, usually what he does is just blessing of freedom's himself and the shammy puts out a earthbind.
GrimgoreJul 30, 2008 - 7:08 AM (HideShow)
This is actually what you are aiming for Meat. Force the pally to use BoF on himself and then stunning him. It's much worse if the warrior get's BoF since he can't be ccd then. Best plan: Focus paladin until he bubbles, switch to warrior when pala has bubbled with a shiv and disarm on the war making it easy for your druid to kite him.

Even if you play perfectly restoshaman/ret pala/war is THE RNG setup so you will still loose some fights where they blow up your druid in about 4s due to double WF crits.

Alright, i used to play retri/warrior/shaman and we did quite well till the shaman migrated and we used a druid. Fight goes like this:

We (warrior+retri) well be looking to blow up the druid. and the druid will usally be dead after the 6 second stun from the retri paladin.

If you focus the warrior he will blow two shits out of your rogue.

Dont bother with the shaman, by the time he dies your druid will be dead and the retri+ warrior will be back from there coffee break

the only way to win this is to focus the Retri and try to outdamage the shamans heals whilst ccing him. it is vital that you try to kite the warrior as well. If you kite the warrior with roots + poisen+hamsting the retri will be forced to either bubble/BOF himself or bOF the warrior. if you can keep 1 of the 2 out of comission then you should win, with mindnumbing on the shaman the retri should go down in like 2 minutes or less. meanwhile your druid should be kiting the warrior at the other end of the map meaning he isn getting windfury + totems.

note: this tactic requires you to split both of them up so after opening on the retri have your warrior intercept and hamstring then get back to the paladin who isnt going anywhere.

So your strat is to DPS the warrior and feed him rage, leaving the lolret to JoJ your druid. Why did I not think of that?

When I reached 2200+ 3on3 I was #1 warr retri shaman in world, and I can asure you we met our warrior rogue druid teams. retri warr shaman is a counter for rogue warr druid, and going for the retripaladin is by far the best choice, but none the less it is rather impossible if ure all equally geared and skilled. the warr retri shaman can make rogue pop 2xevasions and rape him while chasing druid or going warr, they can pop warrior with purges and shocks on druid quite easily, he has to shield they go druid, they can go druid zerg him down with bubble + freedom and bloodlust... its a quite miserable situation :P you need to go retri, if they pull u towards them go back and reset fight. when they use bloodlust shield disarm evasion blind anything u can do, keep 2xcripling on both or hamstring, either one will be slowed.
