| What i do on my dk (due to being 20frost,rest unholy) is to actually just madly peel the rogue for the first 1 minute of the game. Using glyph of bloodboil and spamming chains of ice and going max range for grips. At range i just spam icytouch when rogue has used most of the cd-s and occasionally go in to renew the diseases and spread them if they are both near each-other. With that tacs it has been sufficient to actually to wear down the more defencive teams. Using strangulate and silences to interrupt manaburns and lichborne when i need to go to interrupt and he hasnt actually used the fear on some other purpose - ofc have to be mindful of not getting shackled in those situations. Also we never hex the rogue unless in dire need. Rather we try to hex the priest after having petstunned him when rogue is at ca 80% to be followed up by strangulate. (works always when priest has used trinket - if not then gargoyle is needed to back it up) The tacs was developed by being outgeared by the rogue severly enough that going 1v1 with the rogue was not optional - later having acquired the gear the tacs is still very much valid and almoust 100% foolproof. | |

| I would much rather have the rogue on me rather than on my DK. If the rogue is on me, my DK is free to destroy the priest in about 30 seconds and it's a fast and easy win. The rogue isn't going to solo me, and the priest can't dispel riptide and earth shield because there's too much pressure on him. However, if the rogue sits on my DK, the priest is open to mana burning, dispelling, and fearing as often as he'd like. It's not uncommon to end up in a 20 minute mana regen/drinking fight. I'd rather get a quick win and see the priest get dominated in less than a minute while I tank the rogue. | |

| Hey i've read this strat and thoroughly tried to do as it asks but as im running w/o mana tide and even with the Sapphire Figurine trinket im running OOM before my DK manages to kill the DK even though were getting close, im not getting burned or anything. My DK is simply going down quite fast? any tips? im getting farmededed :( | |

| From the priest rogues POV, this fight can be fairly difficult. There are matches where we attempt to kill the dk or try to mana burn but between earth shields, water shields, bloodlust, and fears, its close to impossible to get a kill or even win the mana war if the team is good. As of recently me and my rogue have simply sapped the dk, shackle if he goes UD, and fear if he cancels it > blind. Blow all cds on the shaman and pray he dies. Since me and my rogue are both engineers i assume we have somewhat of an advantage. If the shaman starts in the middle he dies, if the shaman starts behind a pillar i can rocket boot behind it and get a nice start. | |

| (just posted this on 2v2 forum) This comp was not much of an issue when the rogue sat on me, they didn't have enough CC on the sham to get a kill and wasted too much mana in the process trying to gib me in frost presence. Recently, we've seen more attempts on the shaman's life. There's a problem with this... By the time I'm out of sap and grip the rogue off he's calmly using evasion, cloak, vanish and re-opening on shaman. I'm all for sitting on rogues, but the priest is doing some hefty dmg while the rogue is popping CDs, so I'll switch priest and start unloading. It won't be long til he pops PS and I'm back on the rogue. But the time used to force the priest to go defensive can often be in vein if the rogue's pressure is relentless, the sham may often fall over. He's tryin to keep every tremor, grounding and poison cleanse down whenever there's a GCD to spare. However, the priest is on totem kill duty early on when i'm eating the sap or if i'm on the rogue for too long. Dmging and purging the rogue from the start, and earth shocking the priest isn't enough of a peel to mitigate the onslaught of dmg the shams seems to be taking. I understand that the rogue is pretty much going all out w/ CDs and is completely dependent on getting the kill before it seems we can stabilize ourselves... and trust me when i say we've had some fantastic death grips (getting him to a lower level of the arena and force him to sprint back toward the sham) but they always seem to have JUST enough pressure from the start of the fight to finish the sham. What can we do different? | |

| Tassadanq : What we tend to do is go directly for the priest. Not bothering with ANY pressure on the rogue, that way I can switch to earth shield and have no fear of being dispelled. My DK will grip the rogue once he gets nicely out of arrange, in the meantime I'm dispelling full the priest, and BLOODLUST ! With full pressure directly, the rogue is OBLIGED to go on your DK, allowing you to finish dispelling the priest, and switching to offensive mode dispell on the rogue. If the rogue stays on you, you've won. If the rogue switches on DK, make sure your Shaman will CS the priest and kite him the time that the rogue is under evasion. Make sur COS isn't up, and as soon as evasion is over, burst rogue with your dk, while your ghoul stuns priest. If the burst is big, he will use trinket. If he does, you've won, since all you have left to do is hex priest and have a free 10 second dps on rogue :) This strat only failed me once, when the rogue's pressure was SO relentless and the priest tanked my DK as if my DK was full green, not allowing me one single second to pass offensive :/ | |

| I haven't had any trouble with a priest/any class with my dk. Priests just seem to fall down instantly do the burst from my dk and the constant purge fest from me. | |

| When we see Priest / Rogue my Dk pops Lichborne and charges the Priest and rides him like a school girl. I purge spam the priest / rogue and tank the rogue. If the rogue switches to the Dk we normally switch and burst the rogue down depending on the priest mana /health situation. Key is to pressure the priest the whole match you will be able to OOM a priest quickly with purges + DK dps. Most Priest/Rogue fights I'm able to tank the rogue with water shield so mana isn't an issue. Pressure on the priest limits to little to no dispells and 0 mana burns. | |

| Your playing against bad priests if that plan works. A decent priest should have you focused and Shackle the moment you click Lichborne. Do this at the start and its pretty much as bad as taking a Sap. | |

| Should always be saving LB for when the priest actually pops the fear...never use it in anticipation. Utilizing a /cancelaura macro on priest teams easily solves the shackle issue. I've also found that the fights that are the shortest are the ones where the rogue gets the sap off on me, and i'm able to sit it out and immediately DG the rogue off my sham and just start demolishing him. If you arent that lucky...focusing the priest is usually your best bet with judicious use of peeling. | |

| A good tactic I use, is setting my ghoul on the priest, if the rogue doesn't want his healer to get beaten on, he jumps ghoul. in this time we hex priest, while I beat on rogue, and I mean beat on him, shock the next healing spell sent by priest, then once the shock wears of silence him with strangulate and finish rogue. We faced this team last night, the rogue was dead about 2 seconds into the strangulate. Then the priest was easy, I had death runes up, ITx4, and just pound him. We faced this team before and they beat us (same people) so we think this is a good tactic to use. Higher ranked teams may be smarter to not jump the ghoul. | |

| Really important, make sure your DK stuns the rogue with his pet when you get opened on at the beginning of the game. If you can live through the initial opener without having to use NS or BM trinket, you should be in the drivers seat for the rest of the match. | |

| Actually ggnub, we've had a lot of trouble when the rogue just opens and sits on the DK for the entire game so that the priest can run around me and screw me over. This is one of the "lose slow" scenarios. It's impossible for the DK to catch up to the priest again if the rogue simply sits on the DK, and if the DK tries to hit the rogue, the DK usually gets gouged or kidney'd. It also hurts a lot if the priest knows how to spam dispel earth shield. That is probably one of the biggest detriments against this comp - having your ES dispelled while your partner is sapped and you're getting opened on is almost impossible to live through without using the pvp trinket. | |

| As rice said, wene we lose it's usualy cuz the rogue is just sitting on me (in frost presence ) and they just win the mana war, the dmg is so high my shaman can't find a window to drink priest doing a 2k mind blast = 4k heal with wound poison, and u can't just shock it cuz then he just use smite. while my own dmg on rogue is really low cuz of the Cd's at start tried killing the priest while rogue is hexed , but then he just trinkets and befor we have hex agine we are nearly oom and out of CD's ... the only sucsses i had is to stay on the priest while the rogue is on me to reduce priest dmg ( which is really big ) and coi the rogue - which results in a really low dmg output but gives my shamy a bit breathing room to drink. usualy not working cuz priest just stands in spot after i coi the rogue casting mana drains on shamy wene he comes to heal and self heal from POM cuz i just casted coi on the rogue ... ( can't interrupt cuz rogue times the kidny for that ). | |

| im getting farmed so hard are we supposed to win against this team ever? ugh | |
| Jun 22, 2009 - 9:55 PM (HideShow) | |
| I personally find it best to be extremely aggresive against this team. I do admit i havent played 2k plus teams yet but when we play this comp we do fairly well. right from the start we both charge i purge spam to enter combat and he uses chains of ice. i drop my stoneclaw and throw riptide on myself in anticipation of a rogue opening on me then quickly drop my tremor and start spamming purge once again. After the rogue opens i blow BL and purge the priest and shock when he uses pennace. i like to try and hex the priest when he starts dropping off in health and throw chain lighting and lava burst at him. when i BL i drop my mana tide totem as well to try and slow my mana loss in case the priest survives.my dk blows all of his cds at this time as well and it usually works out well for us. avoiding the sap is a very crucial part of this fight imo its just one less cc the rogue has. and full pressure on the priest really makes him play defensive. | |

| Another method you can try is to "race" each other's healer. DK on priest, rogue on you. However, you'll most likely go OOM first but if your DK is lucky enough with crits, he can definitely pull off a fast kill if the priest is caught off-guard. | |

| Me and my shamy are having some problems with priest/rogue combos.. What should I do? When we start the match I usually charge the priest untill I get sapped. Then I see the rogue starts on my shamy. When the sap is over I DG and CoI the rogue;(to avoid that the shamy gets bursted.) But then the rogue uses sprint and cloak of shadow.. and I'm sold. So, the only thing i see as an opportunity is strike the priest, but most of the times I have to help the shamy. So I attack the priest while I'm moving to the rogue, and starts slow/cc. But still I see no helping, and the shamy's hp drops. Rogue are dpsing while cc'ing me and the priest is free.. At this point I usually switches back to the priest... So... I'm kinda confused and find it hard to do smart moves. Ofc we have won matches against priest/rogues, but probably bad geared, or just retarded. But when we meet "better" priest/rogue combos we usually loose.. So I'm asking for some advices.. Btw, the shamy is not undergeared, he got full deadly/furious (1050 resi). Could be that I have to little dps, since I'm not that good geared.. But the problem is that the shamy dies, not me.. | |

| a small tip for u citin - wene u DG the rogue at start u have to use pet stun on him after he uses COS, which most of them use even befor they last from DG :D , and then u CoI him( COS will be off befor he will be half way to the shamy). | |

| Lay on the rogue, make sure to keep him off your shaman. Keep COI up and death grip the rouge towards the priest so your diseases can spread, after the priests mana gets below half lay on him, his mana will burn out fast, when he goes oom switch targets back to the rogue. DK keep an eye on the priests bars and when he gets enough mana for a heal strangulate him and finish off the rogue. GG | |

| In a priest/rogue match, your strategy should really only depend on which target the opposing PR focuses....... option a) they focus the Death Knight-bad option. In almost any situation whilst playing against a PR team that focus me, we win. Rogues do almost comical damage to a Death Knight in frost presence. Strategy for a PR team that focuses the DK. Shaman can drink whenever, just communicate with the DK to use defensive CDs, and the DK just sits on the priest. When the priest has used PW:Shield and/or pennance and is dispelling chains to get away to LoS, keep your pet on him to avoid a drink, and you switch on the rogue forcing the priest to come back into LoS for a chains/death grip application. A Death Knight in frost presence should never die to a PR burst combo, with AMS/IBF/AMZ/Battlemaster trinket/Pet sac etc etc. We have an arsenal of defensive CDs. Just make sure your shaman is hexing the priest when he/she can, to avoid dispels. Time lust with your IBF to avoid a KS peel, and go nuts with gargoyle/empower rune wep. Its a mana race that you can win, with the shaman purging the priest, and the DK's constant pressure, the priest will OOM fast. Option b) the rogue trains your shaman. This should, yet again be a win win situation. A shaman healer with ES will not die to a rogue, unless he is AFK, or doing something wrong. If the rogue focuses your shaman, its quite simple for the Death Knight to train the priest, forcing him oom or even killing him with a good MF/gnaw/strangulate blanket with bloodlust. If the rogue is any good he will dismantle/KS peel the DK. Your shaman is free to drink. If the rogue doesnt peel the priest will die. The only way a Healer/DK team would lose to a PR is if the Death Knight did not go frost presence to tank the rogue (opt A), or he was a shit peeler for his shaman who had issues with a full season geared rogue. Death Grip/CoI when the rogue uses KS, he wastes a 20 second CD, and your shaman can top up/ghost wolf kite. Should never lose. | |
