Shaman/Warlock

VS.

Paladin/Warlock

In this fight you should have the upper hand due to shamans better mana regeneration

This fight depends a lot on what side can build up more pressure, making the healer use their mana, not allowing them to drink and keeping dots up on all targets.
The priority is to have dots up on all targets all the time, this keeps their healer busy healing the team and now having much time to take a break and drink.

For CC you want to focus the enemy Warlock, use your pet silences, curse of tongues and fears on
the warlock mainly, this cuts out their damage and their crowd control.
And the less crowd control from them the more time for you to deal damage and drain.

Also during the fight keep eyes on the enemy pets HP, if its going low you can try to pull it behind a pillar away from their healer and kill it.
If you manage to kill the enemy pet 2 times your Shaman should stick on the Warlock with your pet after this not allowing him to cast long resummon, while you stick on the Paladin.

If you remember this you shouldn't have problems winning this team

  • 1. Dots on all targets
  • 2. Croud control the Warlock, you silences when hes casting fear, haunt or unstable affliction
  • 3. Tremor totem near you
  • 4. Mana drain Paladin.

Fear: Warlock
Hex: Warlock

Impossible combo, just leave the arena and safe yourself the trouble.

Warlock shaman counters warlock paladin 99% of the times.

Killing the pet is a winner <3 warlock will go super-defensive if you can manage to do this, and you will have the upper hand

We have yet to lose to a Lock/Healer team and I feel that Shaman/Lock has the upper hand vs. every other Lock/Healer setup mainly because of tremor totem meaning that if my healer gets in trouble I can peel for him but he cannot reliably peel me off of his partner if I am on him.

I usually spread DoTs to everyone and then focus the Lock so his pet takes a lot of damage from Soul Link. I keep DoTs on everything but once the pet gets to about 50% have I have my partner drag it behind a pillar and start throwing Haunt, UA, Immolate and spam Searing Pain into it. If the Lock pulls it back and it's below 25% I get a Drain Soul on it to make sure it goes down. We usually win by either killing the Lock while the healer is CCed or killing 2 pets and preventing a hard summon for the rest of the match. We can sometimes win early if the Lock is bad and doesn't peel me off of his healer when he's in trouble.

Is there any point mana draining a pally now?

If you're basing the win solely on tremor totem you're an idiot, sorry. Totem stomping pretty much eliminates tremor totem as an advantage vs this team. Best advice I can give is to firstly be aggressive on his pets, while watching yours (pally burst vs demon pets is ridiculous), when you get this to happen be as agressive as possible on the paladin, while making sure the warlock doesn't fear your partner (very important). Use hex on the lock because the pally will most likely have pure of heart. Best time to go for a kill on the pally is when the locks howl is on cd and paladins trinket is down.

Didn't mention this because I figure its pretty obvious, make sure the warlock doesn't summon a new pet when you kill his 2nd (make sure you know where his teleport is). Their lock won't be able to reliably stop your locks dmg without his pet, the only cc you cant control is death coil & hammer, so that's why I think getting on the paladin after the lock is petless is a good idea. Keeping pressure on is the best way to make them make mistakes that you can capitalize on.

What do totem stomping macros have to do with anything? It's not fearing the Shaman. The advantage is that the Shaman can drop Tremor Totem to remove his Warlock's fear, but the Paladin can't Cleanse his Warlock nearly as easily because of UA, talent-based resistances, other DoTs and LOS. That advantage is absolutely enormous. One side has their damage essentially cut in half because the Warlock in Paladin/Warlock spends the entire fight getting Feared, Grounded and Wind/Earth Shock'ed. They also have better on demand burst for healer kills via Bloodlust.

These advantages are not slight. If YOU can't see that, "you're an idiot, sorry," or more likely, you're just a bad Shaman in denial who probably lost this matchup somehow.

you should win this fight in my opinion, keep dots on the other lock and his pet and iff possible on the pala, just keep tongues on the pala. do all damage to the lock and his pet it will force the paladin out, when he comes out load him up with dots (don't mana burn it's pointless get off more damage)

Tremour totem and shocks are invaluable against there lock giving you the upper hand> This fight will last a long time so the paladin will only bubble when you put pressure on the lock and his pet, giving your shammy time to drink or if the enemy lock is dumb get mana back from water shield.

Aim: switch to pet at low HP use souldrain and have the shammy interupt a heal killing the pet, do that twice = win

I dont know about you guys but if the pally is holy or ret makes this fight easy, Me and my cousin roll a destruction warlock/enhance sham team(we got aroudn 1300 rating we just started this week), we hardly have any troubles with paladins. We FF on the pally untill he bubbles(I will cast curse of tounges on pally takes him longer to heal, i will cast death coil and fear onto the warlock) after pally bubbles we just nuke warlock (cause he is a clothie shamans hits do alot of damage not to mention my immolate+conflagerate) Then once the lock is done its basicly run from pally until his sheild is gone and use shadowfury and nuke pally. it just seems like this fight is really easy to us
