Shaman/Warrior

VS.

Shadow Priest/Rogue

Shadow Priest/Rogue is pretty much the same fight as Rogue/Warlock. You'll be going for the SPriest. Against this team make sure your Shaman Purges the Priest clean in the beginning. Purging his Power Word: Shield will open him up for you to unload on him. Make sure your Shaman stays away from the Priest so he does not get Feared unnecessarily. Bloodlust when the SPriest is about 70% health depending on the situation.

Some SPriest/Rogues will have the Rogue on your Shaman while the SPriest tries to solo your Warrior. If they do this, make sure you purge the Shadow Priest hard, Bloodlust early, and juke the Rogue's kicks. The Shaman needs to save his trinket for Blind.

The other strategy some SPriest/Rogues use is they'll both target your Shaman. If they do this, make sure your Shaman LoS's the SPriest after he has Purged him clean. Keep Earth Shield on yourself 100% of the time. If the Rogue has 4-5 Wounding Poisons on you use the Blood Fury trick. Also, make sure your Shaman trinkets the 6 second Kidney Shot if they're focusing him and he has DoTs.

what happens if they both go zergtown on the warrior? silence>blind>fear>sap while your warrior is spam crippled/stunned?

on live these days, a lot of these double DPS rogue teams don't really seem to worry about feeding a warrior rage. in this instance, PW:S, timed escapes with incaps/stuns etc

"heal through it" isn't excatly the answer I'm after here, so...

It should be even easier if they're on your warrior. Make sure your shaman stays away from the priest, there is no reason he should get feared at all with Hamstring on him. Purge the priests PW:S, Bloodlust right away and he should be dead. If your warrior can't interrupt the Mind Blast have your shaman interrupt it. Your shaman should save trinket for blind, never trinket a fear or eles its game over. Your warrior should save his trinket for the 6 second Kidney Shot.

When we faced this team they would always go for my warrior. They would sap the warrior early as my warrior tried to go in and the shadow priest would be mounted for me. Rogue would then stun the warrior and priest is mounted towards me. I try to dodge the fear as long as I can but I am in ghost wolf due to fear of being sapped myself before the rogue comes out. Either the Shadow priest would catch me or I would be forced to LoS my warrior to dodge the priest. Which results in a switch to the warrior to a kill on the warrior.

In theory keeping the priest off the shaman works. But I guess we cannot figure out how to initiate combat.

Wait holdon, if the rogue opened on your warrior then you don't have to be worried about being Sapped. Also, if your warrior is getting sapped. He should be in Beserker Stance, and just Beserker Rage it and Intercept to the priest.

Any competent spriest/lock combo is going to destroy war/shaman. Shaman has to come into warrior's los to heal which leads to curse of tongues and a full row of dots from both the priest and lock... which leads to both your green bars going to 0 very very quickly. This doesn't even take into account the lock's fear, skill coil, and counter spell.

This isn't the lock/spriest section, lol.

always have trouble with this setup, priest gets on my war and rogue gets on me gg from there generally
ShatoriiMay 12, 2008 - 6:11 AM (HideShow)
This setup is dang easy for spriest+rogue... either split dps or both on warrior, nothing special with that :/
TriariiJun 8, 2008 - 2:03 PM (HideShow)
Get on the shadowpriest and keep him away from your shaman to avoid fear. The priest WILL dot both of you and you need to watch for the switch from the shaman to the warrior and make sure they don't burst the warrior down. Spell reflect at about 40% as just a general rule you'll usually catch something important or save yourself 3 seconds.

I don't know, but as Shaman/Warrior I rarely have any problems versus this team.

Rush the Priest at the start, pop Zerker Rage so you can charge. Shaman stays in Ghost Wolf until he is in Purge range. Blow Bloodrage and Demo Shout when you use Zerker Rage to try and catch the Rogue. If not w/e just hit the Priest, purge his shield off. Either Warrior or Shaman interrupts the first Vampiric Touch, the other one gets the 2nd or Mind Blast if that's what he goes for.

Once PW:S is off the Priest drops pretty fast. If they go for Warrior he trinkets the 6sec KS and offs the priest before the next one, or shortly thereafter.

If they split, the Shaman should survive much longer than the purged down Priest. With no Wound on the Warrior, NS/HW should be more than enough to finish the Priest off. In this case the Warrior should use his BM trinket at 60-70% rather than like a pot at low HP. Chances are you will get healed before it wears off, just make sure you call it out to your partner.

If you don't get crits/WF procs and drop the Priest relatively quickly, an Intervene or Intercept and Hamstring onto the Rogue should be more than enough breathing room.

Me and my shaman can't beat this comp, the way you guys are describing oh just get on Spriest sounds so easy. When I get on the priest I usually get about 2-3 hits on him/her, then the rogue cheapshots me and I get crippling poison on me..then I intercept to the priest and rogue kidney shots me then the priest just kites me all day long with pillar humping while the rogue is beating my face in and the priest healing back to full when I can't do nil about it....
WaterfowlerJun 18, 2008 - 2:29 PM (HideShow)
Also with the kidney shot I trinket it and gain like .0001 yards on the priest because I get shived like mad, even if I turn on the rogue while the priest is blowing himself on the other side of the pillar we still lose because the priest just dots up shaman and either he dies or I do from all the pressure being put on both of us.
ShacaluJun 30, 2008 - 1:08 PM (HideShow)
Waterfowler make sure ur shaman purges the priest all the time and drops poison cleansing totem or cleanses ur poison and if the priest kites u around a pillar change to rogue and make him pop some cd's. Be certain that the priest will stop pillar humping and try to DPS u or shaman....Shaman drops grounding and u intercept the priest pop all dmg abilities and trinkets and gz :) well thats what i do :)
ShacaluJun 30, 2008 - 1:10 PM (HideShow)
also make sure ur shaman start in ghost wolf and u in zerker stance .. if u see the priest change stace and charge :)
InimitableAug 3, 2008 - 11:29 AM (HideShow)
Yeah, change stance, get sapped and watch your shaman melt.

With me and my new shammy healer we went up againts this sp rogue combo. We lost the first 2 times i tried to kill the priest. Cause the rogue locks down the shammy and forces him to use his crappy lesser heals. So i went on the rogue hamstring, ms overpower. till it forces the priest to start healing. Then u just blow bloodlust. and finish off the rogue. The priest will not be able to keep him up.
DanielsnagAug 30, 2008 - 7:35 AM (HideShow)
Today me and my new shammy partner went from 1600-1700 (not a great achievement) and we got a Duelist SP/Rogue 3 times. They beat us the first 2 times. they would run at my shammy, when he LoSd they would quickly start on me CC shammy if i survived that would turn it into 2 1v1 fights. Thankfully the 3rd time we saw this coming and snared both and played aggresively on priest. make sure to interupt priests spells especially mind blast. Purge priests bubbles if possible as well, Heroism/Bloodlust as soon as you are in combat with them. Rather easy if you can keep both of them snared and keep interupt order on priest.
GorxOct 3, 2008 - 6:13 AM (HideShow)
As a shaman warrior team my shaman partner and I do have trouble with this team. They simply CC him and blow me up ASAP. He can't get sapped, but they simply whack his Grounding and fear then Blind, which gives them quite a lot of time to blow me up as they please.

The only time we beat this comp was with me switching to Defensive Sword-Board as soon as I saw the priest in Shadowform. No sooner than I did that, the rogue Cheap Shots me, whacks the Grounding when it comes up, and the priest comes in and fears him right back around the pillar. All I could do was get Thunderclap/Demoshout on the rogue, spam shield block and spell reflect(I got lucky and managed to spell reflect two Mind Blasts) and outlast the storm. Even with only a 1-hander equipped you can do a respectable amount of damage especially if Windfury is up. Then my shaman gets back into the game, Shocks a Mind Blast and throws a NS/HW on me, we won shortly after that.
