Shadow Priest/Rogue

VS.

Rogue/Warlock

Difficulty: 8/10 vs double Undead, 5/10 vs anything else

Sometimes racial abilities can really change the outcome of a match. This is one of those matches.

Like any 2dps vs 2dps matchup, it will be fast and very reliant on each of the players' ability to react quickly. Undead and Humans (to a lesser extent) have a sizable advantage. If the opposing team has only one Undead, we will want to kill the UD and CC the other. If neither or both are UD, we usually go for the Rogue first

If we are killing the Warlock, our SPriest is mounted and ready to kite all around the map should our Rogue get Sapped. Your Rogue should open on the Warlock ASAP and pop everything. Your Priest should then ride in, dismount on top of the Warlock, and begin dotting him. Silence the Warlock after your Rogue's initial stun lock. Once the opposing Rogue appears, your Priest should Fear both of them.

If the opposing Rogue is not UD, he will trinket, at which time your Rogue should immediately Blind. The Warlock should die before the Blind wears off. Cloak of Shadows->Vanish->Sap to another Psychic Scream on the enemy Rogue is very possible and will help ensure victory

If the opposing Rogue is UD, he will WotF and begin destroying your Priest. Your Rogue should Blind the opposing Rogue to force a trinket and hopefully the Priest will stay alive until Psychic Scream finishes cooling down. During this time, if your Priest has DoTs up on the Warlock, he should concentrate on staying alive until Scream finishes cooling down because a Rogue will kill a Shadow Priest much faster than an SL Warlock should the priest try to fully DPSing. Once scream is up again, Fear the Rogue trying to get the Warlock in range as well. Always keep in mind that scream is an AoE CC. By now the Warlock should be very weak and should die before the scream wears off.

If we are killing the Rogue, our Priest should be mounted behind a pillar to LOS the Lock with our Rogue nearby. When the enemy Rogue jumps the Priest, our Rogue should jump on the enemy Rogue and begin stun locking and popping everything. The Priest should try to ride away towards the Warlock for a Fear then DoT up the enemy Rogue.

If the enemy Lock isn't UD, he will trinket. Your Rogue should Blind him and 2v1 the enemy Rogue. Vanish ->Sap ->Scream->Silence (or just Silence ->Scream if Vanish->Sap isn't possible) on the Warlock and finish up the Rogue. If he is UD, your Priest should Silence him right after he WotFs while running out of LOS. When the enemy Lock runs over to get into LOS, your Rogue should Blind him, which he will trinket. This is simply to buy more time for Scream to cool down, and once it has, our Priest should Fear the Lock and finish the enemy Rogue.

I've had better success with sitting on the lock having a lock sit there and fear is a pain especially with the survival skills a rogue has.

We usually just rush in and burst the lock down asap. I pop shadowfiend early for more dmg, and just go all out on him. Against UD rogue teams I usually don't even waste the GCD to fear until the lock is dead and the rogue has at least a dot on him so he can be 1v1d easier in case I die.

There are a few things wrong with this guide. 1. Any smart warlock that isn't getting focused will use a devour macro to remove fear. No Trinket/Wotf needed. 2. You didn't take into account the fact that Warlocks have a Spellstone. They'll remove silence and wipe the priests dots. 3. Most Locks will trinket kidney shot.

Taking this into consideration, a warlock will only have to suffer from the initial Cheap shot stun and be free to dot/silence/fear shortly after.

A felhunter cannot devour when it is feared. Unless your pet is on passive or on the rogue, it will get feared each time save for resists, as priest fear is an aoe.

Tbh, when you meet this combo just Nuke the Lock down...
Cheapshot>Kidney>Kick>Silence pwns..
after that he will prolly Deathcoil the Spriest cause they go for him.
After i see the lock is almost down i pop healing mode and start to heal.
Not a hard match at all.
Nuke Lock asap and you win.
Like i said all your dots,MB+SW:D and silence.
Then the rogue shoud finish it off.
