Rogue/Warlock

VS.

Shaman/Warrior

This is also very tough depending on what happens. You want to sap the shaman and then jump on the warrior, throwing fears, CoT and CS on the shaman, and eventually the killer blind. If the shaman is smart and sits in ghost wolf, that is hard to do. If he sits in ghost wolf, try to drag the warrior away from him a bit, and then jump the warrior with very hard dps. Once this happens, start ccing the shaman and playing as normal. Be sure to kill tremor and grounding whenever you see it up.

use
/petattack [target=Healing Stream Totem]
/petattack [target=Windfury Totem]
/petattack [target=Mana]
/petattack [target=Tremor Totem]
/petattack [target=Grounding Totem]

on the totems dot up the warrior forcing the shaman to get out and heal the warrior will be at like 80% try to sap when he gets out then full dps the warrior cot and fear the shaman silence him if he NS if your pro and strip it.

a shamman that heals the warrior gets in combat, and has time switch back to ghost wofl.... your saying to sap the shamman during the time he is casting the first heal? that wont work at all if the warrior is moving around on a mount like most do.

Also, tremor is THE MOST important totem to kill first, not grounding. that means /petattack...tremor should be on the bottom of the list.

actually getting the rogue next to the shaman to sap before first heal isn't a bad idea. If it works. But he will have to be close in order to get it off. But I think it might just be better to dot up the warrior and have the rogue get on him too. Silence the first heal while your pet is taking out totems. When the shaman is silenced, try to get a fear off if he can't LOS. Good shaman will earthshock your fears. Once a shaman is feared without a totem to break it, the warrior will have to go defensive or they will lose. We won by going for warriors. Just make sure to start well before the seeing eye thingy. If a shaman gets it, it will suck when you go to blind him.

As a good shaman isnt going to let you cast a full fear, what with grounding, earth shock, LoS, pummel, mace stuns (wave at the nice warrior beating on you :>) and failing all that, just by plonking down a tremor totem thatll tick 3 sec later, i really dont feel its wise to integrate into the tactic tbh. By all means, be the oppotunist and take the chance if and when it presents itself, but vs top teams, its highly unlikely. Focusing exclusively on the warrior is also dangerous imo, as a good shaman can easily fake or ground a gamebreaking Spell Lock, freeing him up to spamheal from there with the aid of poison cleansing totem 20yds away to strip off your wound poison. What we do is play the game similar to warrior druid, essentially by giving the shaman too much dmg to heal. Rogue stays put on shaman to totally control him whilst i nuke both the warrior and the shaman, with full dots on both. If shaman trinkets anything to heal up his warrior with an NS, we wait for dots to tick off him and blind him for the finisher. If he doesn't trinket a KS sooner or later, him or his warrior will die.
Some will say this tactic sounds unreliable when ofc a bloodlusted warrior with windfury really does rip through the warlock. But just hug a pillar when fighting, and make use of a deathoil - trinket out of hamstring - pillarfuck for as long as is needed... let dots tick and let your rogue finish things up, and if warrior gets frustrated and switched to the rogue, enjoy your new freedom and nuke as best as possible without making intercept too easy for the warrior. If in desperation for a kill the warrior trinkets out of your deathcoil (you are at say 30% afterall) allow dots to tick off and treat him to a full blind as you finish his shaman.
Always a very quick match and my rogue has often been left to finish one of them, but as whichever surviver tends to be at 30% and with full dots, whereas my rogue is at very high hp still packing a healthstone, the game tends to be a winner. Have beaten basically all the top warrior

psst. a good shaman will purge to get in combat.

Any good shaman/warrior team will notice it's lock/rogue. i usually know there bad when the warrior charges into me well away from the totems and the shaman. Just wait it out alittle... the shaman WILL replace his totems. when this happens, make sure the rogue is behind him ready to sap. then you just zerg the warrior and cc the shaman. Make sure and kill tremors and grounding and keep CoT up on the shaman. It's really not a hard fight, but you will lose to RNG alot though.

If you want to sap the shaman, tell your warlock to click off detect invis/unending breath so the shaman can't purge and get in combat. This way I get rather easy sap on shaman usually, stay close to him and spam sap when warlock starts to DoT the warrior, hopefully shaman will jump out of ghost wolf and you get a sap.

This should be fast match.. DOT up the warrior, if it's good shaman, he will purge you so he can't get sapped. If this happens, curse of tongue on the shaman, rogue sit on the wrrior just for cheap-kidney combo which will give warlock a lot of time to live. Spell lock the first healing no matter what. warrior should drop to 50% at least. If this happens, rogue vanish and stunlock, kick, garrote, and gauge the shaman.
Warrior won't kill ur warlock 1v1 cuz his hp already dropped a lot and warlock didn't take any damage for 10 secs. Warlock should 1v1 the warrior and finish him.
If warrior gets some lucky WF+sword procs, there's nothing much you can do. Shaman+warrior depends on luck a lot.

Me and my lock have had absolutly no luck at all versus this setup. Its almost always instalose for us when we see that its a shaman and a warrior. I think that we probably tried all of those above mentioned strategies, but we just cant seem to win. My warlock gets killed by that friggin bloodlusted WF warrior so quick that its just stupid (My locks got about 14.2k hp unbuffed and 500 resil).
Its silly :(

What my Rogue does and works... he lets me 1v1 the mage since its increadibly easy with spell lock and CoT and he starts on the rogue and does everything to keep him of me... if he trinkets a kidney... blind then he can help on mage... weird but those work for us.
RezorAug 22, 2008 - 12:54 PM (HideShow)
wrong match up oops
LoneninjaAug 31, 2008 - 6:55 AM (HideShow)
Split dps and you win. Its that easy.
Warlock on the warrior.
Rogue on the shaman
Curse of Tongues on shaman along with other dots.
Amp CoA on the warrior with other dots.

Try to Coordinate a timely fear or death coil on the shaman (or even warrior) to prevent a heal or unlucky mace stun/hamstring proc
Make sure you spell lock when the rogue's kick is on cd.
