Rogue/Shaman

VS.

Rogue/Warlock

Rogue's Perspective
Although you wouldn't think so, having played both setups I can say that this setup is as different as night and day to Mage/Rogue. The roles are completely and utterly changed. In the Mage/Rogue setup the Rogue is there for control and enabling the Mage to DPS. In Rogue/Warlock teams the Warlock basically tanks and manipulates casters with DoTs/Fears/Spellocks/Curse of Tongues. The big difference is that the Rogue is the real DPS in this team, while the Warlock is there for control/enabling Rogue DPS.

How you approach this team is you get a Sap off on the Rogue or the Warlock (preferably the Rogue, but me being human helps out a lot with this. Pretty hard to get a Sap off without Perception with the Lock and the Rogue rushing at your Shaman). Your tactics depend a bit on which arena you're in. If you're in Blade's Edge and forced to fight on the bridge, you should definitely go for the Warlock while the Shaman kites the Rogue and just stays out of range of the Warlock. However if you're in a place where you are able to pillar hump efficiently the best bet is to just stick on the rogue and keep him in check. A nice trick is to Shadowstep then immediately use Kidney Shot because you will end up directly behind the Rogue and get a guaranteed hit. The Shaman just kites around the pillar with Ghostwolf and avoids the Wound Poison stacking as well as most of the Fears. The dangerous part of this team is if they are able to stack up 5 Wound Poison on the Shaman and the Rogue sticks on the Shaman while the Lock DoTs are eating away. You can get down either of them quicker than they can get down your Shaman with Heroism. But if they are able to combine their DoTs and Rogue DPS it can be dangerous.

If they go for your team's Rogue, you win. In that case, you stick on the Lock while trying your best to keep your front to the Rogue with Evasion up. The Shaman should save his shock until your team's Rogue is stunned and unable to stop a Fear. There is no way they can stop Heroism DPS and healing when trying to nuke a Shadowstep Rogue. Like with the Mage/Rogue team, you should pop your Heroism early.

Shaman's Perspective
Use Heroism right away. Keep Tremor Totem down. Interrupt the Warlock spells. You can buff yourself or the Rogue with Water Breathing/Walking to protect Earth Shield/Heroism. Make sure you get those Tremors down to prevent your Rogue having to blow hist trinket on Fear. If he does he will eat a Blind+Sap+Fear while they kill the Shaman.

Totems Used: Grounding, Tremor, Fire and Poison Cleansing.

I play the rogue in sham/rogue. Best bet is indeed for the shaman to hug a pillar, put down tremor and grounding and purge the locks shield fast. After shield is purged you open on the warlock instantly. (purging the shield should take about 1-2s so you might wanna open at once). If done correctly 95 % of all lock / rogues will panic and go for the rogue. If you get ruptured early then grats you have won! Just clos if you are below 60 % and trinket the KS when it comes. The lock should be dead shortly and the shaman has no problems keeping u up. If you don't see a rupture still trinket the KS and keep on the lock but wait with clos as the dots will break an eventual blind. If the shaman has trouble keeping you up of clos vanish and reopen on the lock while the shaman get's ready to pillar hump=)

A very easy setup that you will only loose to if you make huge misstakes or the shaman is somehow unable to keep you alive (shouldn't be a prob with poison cleansing totem, clos and vanish=)
