Rogue/Shaman

VS.

Mage/Rogue

Rogue's Perspective
This is one of the most common setups along with Rogue/Warlock. I've played this setup a lot and at a high level. This isn't your hardest combo to come up against because of being able to interrupt sheeps with Earth Shocks/Grounding as well as offensive Purge on the Mage. You basically go up against the Mage with everything you have and try to contain him. If he gets one sheep off, it's normally good game because you are basically forced to trinket and then eat a Blind leading into successive Polymorphs. If they are smart they will go for the Shaman and CC the Rogue as best they can. If they do however go for the Rogue, popping Heroism early and spam healing is useful since I, as the Rogue, will be taking well the heaviest 2v2 burst in the game. Interrupting Polymorphs ensures the win.

Shaman's Perspective
Use Poison Cleaning totem and Earth Bind around pillars here. Frost Resistance will be rather good as well, your Rogue stays on the Mage, and your job is to avoid him getting sheeped. If he gets sheeped he's screwed because he will either have to wait 9 seconds or trinket and eat a Blind->Sap(although slightly diminished) Take advantage of Grounding Totem and Earth Shock. Remember that you can protect your Rogue from behind a pillar if he's in range of Grounding! Buff Earth Shield on yourself when you're behind a pillar so the Mage cannot remove it, same goes for Heroism.

Totems Used: Grounding, Earth Bind, Frost Resist, and Searing/Magma

this is the only comp i lost to (apart from my healer making huge mistakes vs randoms) going from 1700 to 2.1k. so i do actualy belive this is the hardest counter for Rshaman Rogue

this is the hardest combo for any resto sham 2v2 team. Being unable to dispel roots/poly or CC we are an easy kill if we get stunned or rooted... Shatter combo/kick/Counterspell and the shaman dies... its the hardest team by far.

A setup like this can't really be given that much guide. It's about the individual shaman skills of whether he can survive or not. Of course does your rogue or warrior have some knowledge of what he’s supposed to do in the different situations.

We usually do like this:
I run next to LoS obstacle and wait for the mage to pop up, purge him and do some dmg, if the rogue doesnt want to show up we just put insane pressure to mage and kill him, but most usually the rogue decides to open on me when my rogue opens on him.

From there I shock/ground ALL the sheeps; letting one sheep in means huge disadventage.
be on vent with ur rogue partner and tell him, if you cant interrupt next sheep so he can CloS/vanish it.

P.S Flame shock the rogue, if the rupture is about to fade.. do not let the rogue/mage bandage.

I've found that we only lose to this comp if they CC/silence me and try to kill the rogue. The most difficult thing about this comp is staying in range to interrupt/grounding sheeps. When a mage blinks away and a rogue is shivving crippling on you with vile poisons, it can be rather frustrating. However, this comp is very beatable esp if they try to CC the rogue and kill the shaman.

I have yet to have trouble with this comp. The mages usually down within seconds. Excluding IB of course. We put extreme pressure on the mage from the start and let him IB then I vanish and depending on where their Rogue is I CS/Rupture him and ShS back to the mage to own him. Dodging Sheeps is the easiest thing to do imo for this comp.

Just a fyi. I prefer to use searing totem over the frost resist. The extra resistance is marginal at best, though the searing can pull agro from the pet and does so pretty often. The extra damage and spell pushback once you get the veins purged is also helpful if you happen to be waiting out a KS or global before a poly or shatter
