Priest/Warlock

VS.

Druid/Warrior

Difficulty: 7

Again, many people say this is impossible to win against, but it is definitely possible to win. It just won't be as easy as it is vs other teams. This is where you want your teleport to be behind a pillar so warrior won't steroid charge you. Dispel the warrior and druid in the beginning. Have devour on and be ready to spell lock the cyclones and regrowth/nourish. If they sit in tree, try to get a banish off. If they don't just fear while he is in caster and do some mana burns. The most important thing that people don't tend to do is watching the warriors overpowers. Warriors have this talent which causes their overpower to give unrelenting assault which reduces their spell damage/healing by 50%. This can screw a priest over easy if he penances while the warrior is on. All you can do is Shield->PoM->Renew, also dot the warrior. The warrior shouldn't be able to tear you apart that much if all he can do is mortal strike and auto attack you while he is in battle stance. If he overpowers you, then you penance for 5.4k health back. After you mind control them which will make them go to berserker to interrupt which will dump some rage. You can set afflicted up to show the cool down of the warriors overpower, which I highly recommend you do. Your warlock should be doing the same also. Utilize Mind Control if he pressures your warlock too much, this will most likely cause the warrior to charge you while your warlock gets dots on him. Mind control doesn't even cost that much mana, so it won't kill you. Your warlock should also control the druid if the warrior gets on you. Spell lock/fears etc.

Some issues I am having with this combo, My mind control never works/lasts even half a second. and when the warrior is on me, my warlock is always CC'd by the druid and vise versa if the warrior is on me

I am learning to watch the overpowers, but i still have a great deal of suvivability issues with 800res and 22k hp :(

ok first off, shadowflame is ur friend, teleport is NOT. using teleport is insta-charge, using shadowflame, taking 2 steps, getting charged, then teleporting is win. gives u a slightly better chance. as OP said overpower will be an insane factor for both the priest and lock. they'll use the same tactic as they've been using since s3. they go after the pet, and kill it over and over even if u summon it 50 times, but more likely than not, if the pet dies the 2nd time around, u will lose unless ur priest is lucky enough to get off fear on both at the same time, and expect the druid to NS+Cyclone to interupt ur summon. getting a gib is very possible regardless of what OP mentioned, keep pet purge on auto on the warr, purging lifebloom means he just used 1k mana and regenned 500mana for no reason at all, overall waste of 500 mana every 8 seconds is very nice. its obvious when the warrior is skilled and when he isnt, using shield wall below 25% is common and take it as ur chance to hit Drain $oul IWIN. if he's good he'll go battle and charge before shield wall comes off, but rinse and repeat while ccing the druid can eventually get them playing too defensively and lead into a win. gibbing the druid wont happen if they're half decent. go for a kill on the warrior, they'll win the mana game no question about it.

as OP said, MC+Fear+SpellLock are ur ccing options, if ur playing on the bridge, MC+JumpDown+FearWarrior is win, but u wont always be that lucky, so dont count on it every time.

tactic vs this combo on bem arena.
drop portal 1/4 the way along bridge..priest gets on pedstole thingy.
u nuke the warrior..in order to curb dmg hes gonan want to cnarge u, cos with spl lcoks of the druid he aint gonna keep up the heals...my priet them mc's the druid off the bridge and we dps downt eh warrior..even if the warrio kills my priest...and we kill the warrior i ahve no concern thata resto druid is ewver goin to beat me..so at minimum its a draw, if not win

Somehow me and my Wlock partner almost always lose if the warrior goes for me (Priest). All the warrior does is charge and dps me like crazy. MC and PS sure helps alot, but nonetheless I simply cannot survive the warrior.
I have close to 1k resilience and 23k HP buffed.

Take note that the warriors NEVER switches to berserker to kick. It's either the warrior eating the MC, or putting on a shield and just reflecting it.
NightprinceJun 2, 2009 - 1:56 PM (HideShow)
@Purulent. beating this team is by avoiding damage, and forcing them to play defensive very important that the warrior gets feared before he hits shield wall. if he hits it too soon in the game, which some do, use every cd u have to make sure they use every single cd they have as well, switch to the druid, make him go defensive running away, but keep ur dots up on the warrior, preferably somewhere not in the druids LoS MC the druid then fear and spell lock, BUT use death coil on the warrior, very important that he doesnt manage to LoS you. if u dont manage to get a gib after rinsing and repeating this, then tell ur healer to mana burn the druid isntead of ccing him, send pet on druid and keep nuking warrior. i assume that the pet is still alive, cuz if its not, and ur not playing in blade's edge. u've already lost pretty much. playing in valor is different and imo gibbing the druid is insanely easy there, but requires a lot of coordination from u and ur priest to time MC so that it goes up with all dots on him, and then run into the fire. easy win in valor.

What Nightprince said a while ago about MC into the fire is extremely viable. We have not lost a game against warrior/druid on RoV. At the start of the game, an early fear/ mind control is normally enough to get one of the warriors CC breaking cooldowns to be used, after one minute of constant fears/ MC's they normally have exhausted them all.

Note however, I play at like a 1.9k-2.1k MMR, so I cant say that it will be that easy against high rated plays. In fact, I almost guarantee that a perfect MC scenario like that will be extremely rare

This is where the lol factor comes in, just wait for the druid to go tree-form, banish him, priest cast holy fire/ both dots, lock dots warrior, priest MC warrior, stand in fire for 10seconds whilst warlock chain CC druid. Its always funny when the warrior dies in the fire. This strategy is also good for fighting the recession, due to the amount of money put into businesses to replace the warriors broken keyboards after QQ rages.
NightprinceJun 27, 2009 - 6:46 PM (HideShow)
Haha yeah idd good for the recession, but i highly doubt druids would go tree form for any reason at all, and as a priest u would be insanely lucky to get close enough to pull off a scream on him. it needs to be planned out, with CoExhausion spam to get him burning his mana on travel form. but yeah if he goes tree form, then free points ftw:)

this fight is fairly impossible if the druid/warrior are good at all
WendromJul 3, 2009 - 8:57 AM (HideShow)
it's always possible, at least we usualy tend to win against this team, because we force the use of the trinket on both players and then we start to do whatever we want. I always put my pet on the healer, as Nightprince said, only teleport after being charged! I put all my dots on the warrior and the druid so the druid uses more mana. After this, when the warrior has a fear, i usually do many drain mana on the druid so he's forced to use inervate and THEN the priest MUST be near him to dispel it, most of the times, my priest dispel it after he gets 2-5k mana, but that's not a huge issue because i DOT both again and drain mana on druid so he's forced to drink, but he can't because my pet is always on him xD and then dots on warrior (lock and priest) then MC and watch him die, then focus on the druid.

This usually works, but it depends on many factors on the beggining of the match and the arena...

The only map I've yet to beat a Good Druid/Warrior is Ring of valor due to fire and how it saves your ass >< Dotting up both targets MC'ing warrior running him up and down the fire, fearing/banishing the druid. But everyone other win is to a druid who's stupid enough to stay in tree form. It's a rather ridiculous combo and never ceases to amaze me how dk/druid is so much easier.

"The warrior shouldn't be able to tear you apart that much if all he can do is mortal strike and auto attack you while he is in battle stance. If he overpowers you, then you penance for 5.4k health back."

What does that mean??
