General Information
This combo is probably one of the most underestimated combos in play. Most Hunter teams can easily pull wins against Priests. most Rogues can just lock up the Warlock. and a Druid is probably a better partner for a Warlock, but even with some of these
handicaps, Discipline Priest/Warlock still has advantages over most make ups. I ran this combo Season 1 and Season 3 and did very well before we started selling points.
Positioning is the key to success, never forget that. Sometimes, as a Priest, you need to be very aggressive or fall back and be defensive. Primarily the strongest play for this combo is being aggressive, since it lacks the longevity that Druid teams offer. However, against any DPS team you should always be defensive. The basic strategy with this combo is doing as much damage as you can and Mana Burning when you can. Don't tunnel vision with your Mana Burns. Look for easy opportunities and you can squeeze them in so easily. It is much easier to DPS and force healers to use their mana by healing. These strategies were formed around our play style. so they may not necessarily work for you. This is how we do things.

Tips, Tricks, and Tools
- Spell stone: Always make one even if you do not use it. Its always nice to have one handy because you can instantly remove all magical debuffs if you face a heavy dot double dps team.
- Health stone: Always make two health stones(Rank 6 + 5) for you and your partner. Even though a lot of games you will not have the opportunity to use both, the second one could come in handy vs a mirror or stretched out games.
- Buffs: Use trash buffs like Detect Invisibility and Unending Breath on your partner, you, and your pet to make it harder to dispel Renew, Prayer of Mending, etc.
- Fire Shield: Before you summon your Felhunter at the beginning, summon your Imp and buff Fire Shield on you and your partner. This may not seem important, but the extra damage and fire resist can sometimes come in handy.
- Warlock Demons: If the opposing team pulls your pet behind a pillar and your to far away to help keep it alive don't be afraid to go behind a pillar yourself a hard summon the 6 second Felhunter, this will prevent you from burning Fel Dom and save yourself a bunch of Mana wasted in trying to keep it alive while two people damage it down.
- Trinkets: Timbals(Warlock),Void Star Talisman(Warlock), and Earring(Priests) Holders. These items are highly recommended if you can get your hands on them. They provide an edge to this combo. The Timbals provides a great boost in damage and can also keep people in combat from far away, the Void Star will add resistance to your pet making it harder to be rooted, banished, or damaged, and for the Priest the Earring of Soulful Meditation will provide a great bit of Mana regen when you get out of Mana. If you cannot get these trinkets which many can not, I suggest using the Battlemaster Trinkets.

Builds
Priest
There are two main builds priests use with this combo, the popular 42/19/0 which provides less damage output, but a lot more survivability. Some people like to take one point out of Improved Healing and put it in Holy Nova to provide help with getting Rogues out of stealth and killing snakes. There is also a less popular build, but still decent, Shadow/Silence talent build 40/0/21 This talent build with 21 points in shadow allows you to silence your opponents and also add to the damage your Warlock dots do. Although I would not suggest going this build unless you have some experience with this combo.
Warlock
There are also two main Warlock builds for this combo I like to use. The first is very popular, 27/34/0 This build lacks the Demonic Resilience, but gains a good bit of damage which you will need. Not every team will stick to your Warlock, or the pet a lot of teams will instead stick to the Priest, hence making Demonic Resilience less needed and the extra damage output more needed. The second build is 23/38/0 Although I myself am not a fan of this build some use it because it provides a lot more survivability for the Warlock's pet and also providing better survivability for the Warlock.

| Paladins are easy to control via CoT, spell lock, mass dispell, fears, LoS etc.. You can essential keep a paladin from healing the whole match. You should curb stomp them with dots + control alone. | |

| @RemyuL : never really faced shaman/lock, but it should probably be easier than druid/lock. dont keep your pet on the shaman when he has watershield. just chase the shaman to drain him, just do as much damage as you can, cc the lock as much as possible and you keep the shaman in combat. when he has to heal u take advantage and mana burn him. | |

| Imo don't try and chase the pally, do enough damage that he has to come out and heal, take advantage of his lack of instants and drop a CoT on him and take advantage wreck him with cc. You can put enough pressure on him that he has to chain heal. a side note, the sooner you can get the pally to blow his bubble, the better. His bubble should be his only free casting time without CoT. So I personally try and get it off him as quickly as possible, but against high rated teams you can expect a spell lock/deathcoil at this point. | |

| what about mirror matches? I tend to see a lot of warlocks go straight to mana draining my priest. I find it easier to dps both of them while getting drains in every once in a while. You should put the mirror match up to help people out | |

| seems like you may want to suggest reflective shield, I don't think you mention it anywhere.. after playing this comp for a while without it and struggling, I finally gave it a shot (also gemming a little spell hit) and jumped from 1850-2100 with no problem, looks like we can probably go a decent amount higher also it helps a lot against dpriest/rogue as the warlock will not be doing much damage with the rogue on him, so reflective shield will be a big source of damage I used to think it would suck because warriors get rage from it, but really it just forces the warrior to either go defensive or die.. warriors actually got a little bit easier with reflective shield I'm sure the comp is doable without it but when I first started going by this guide and went by the spec you posted I felt completely gimped :P I'd say pick between silent resolve and reflective shield | |

| Pal war ~ just keep the war out in the open fully dotted, make the paladin come to him to heal... open to fears etc. Keep CoT up on pally, and once the warrior gets low enough, coordinate the fear / silence(felpuppy).. At this point the priest needs to be dpsing also, to get the necessary Burst DPS in on the warrior. | |

| Hey guys! I've played this setup alot, as priest in s1 at 2300 rating and now I rolled lock in the middle of s3 and basically almost got my gear together. We're playing at ~2050 atm and I would just like to ask, is there any movie with discpriest/wl out there? Incase there is some trick that we've missed and where I can actually see someone pull off some of the tactics described here? Ebonics, how about putting together one and make it available here? | |

| Against double rogue what the priest needs to do is Shield, pom, renew and start spamming rank one holy nova from time to time. Key to winning is to not allow rogues to get the opener off on the priest. Once you find the rogues you need to fear. Get that cool down on there trinket going, get PS up/new shields/renews/etc watch your AC buff. Spam holy novai f you need some more health, remember this is a do or die fight and will be over in 1-2 minutes. As a warlock you need to have your felhunter find the rogues, get ready to skill coil one rogue/fear when they pop out. You need to stay in LOS of the priest. Know you will get blinded twice. Do you best to dot both up, with reflective shield +holy nova+ your dots the rogues will die quickly but you need to get fears off on one rogue dont let your priest get locked down or it is all over and again KEEP IN LOS OF THE PRIEST. If the rogues get there openers off on the priest its pretty much over. | |

| Demonion, i don't think Mage/lock does beast disc priest/lock unless you have some next lawlpyroblastUAlockpewpew. I run this combo with my friend we are both 2/5 vengeful and it's the easiest combo i have ever run in my arena career since my first pal/war in S1. If the Mage is ice and the lock is sl/sl or lawlguard.. devour magic the sheeps fear ward + undead ftw i mean besides squeezing maybe one fear in that combo doesn't really stand a chance especially if Ice Mage rogue doesn't stand a chance (which it don't!..hic!) | |

| I have been up to 2450 rating with this comp on Whirlwind, and so far have been floating around top 20 as of now. Coming from a Priests perspective. For one, if you want to have an advantage for warrior druid, I reccomend going tri-spec for a priest. 42/5/14 with the shadow talents really helps. Usually I give the lock full buffs as he engages the fight and I go on my mount. The warrior should die faster then your lock if hes not then your lock sucks or undergeared. Once the druid pop outs try to be out of intercept range and go fear him. Once he's feared he should trinket or his warrior will die. Dot the warrior up and start dispeling all his hots. Never dispel the lifeblooms if theres only one up. It just gives them a bloom every gcd. Once your fear is up again then if you catch the druid in the fear with no hots on the warrior, he's just as good as dead, try to dispel all the HoTs on the warrior before the fear. If the warrior goes on you, then the fight is based on how well your lock ccs the druid while killing the warrior. It should be easier if the warrior is on the priest, leaves a lock open to spam dps and fear. Try to avoid dotting the druid so fear won't break early and be ready with a macro that spell locks after the druid gets out of fear, but only spell lock if theres a chance for the warrior to die, you want to try avoiding the druid cycloning you. You should never really cast more then instants on your lock but if he's on you then you probabbly should. Remember there is a time where a warrior is vulnerable to fear after Deathwish and Trinket is used. If it turns into a fight where you have to cast try to Deathcoil the warrior when MS has about 5 seconds left and heal up as much as you can. If you have to cast heals through MS, most likely you'll go oom before the druid. If the warrior goes for the pet summon a new one, you'll drain all your mana if you heal the pet through. I never give more then a shield or HoT to the warrior. Sometimes if the warrior keeps going for the pet over and over | |

| You can't really not get opened on against double rogue, even with a human warlock its really hard to find the rogues/not get sapped. Only thing I can think of is specing into Holy Nova to help do instant heals whenever my heals are on CD, flash heal=no no, mind numbing+kicks/interupts make it so you can't cast to live. | |

| As requested, Here are some strats for rogue rogue comp. If your playing in Blade’s edge stand on the rope on the bridge. When you fear them they will go off of the rope and they have to watch their step carefully or they’ll fall off with dots on them. If you do this it’s like an easy win. Any other map then Blade’s edge it’s pretty much fear them and try outlasting them. If their killing the priest, trinket out of the first kidney shot or your pretty much dead. If their smart one rogue will start with cheap shot then after a garrote for the silence. Trinket then use Pain suppression, Power infusion, and Elune’s Grace If you’re a night elf. Then start shielding and healing with instants. You want to fake cast as much as you want because one kick can screw you over. Mostly you want to only cast when PoM is down, Renew is up, and Weaken soul is still on. If your tri-spec instead of casting you can try dotting them for a stun if your instants are down. Keep innerfire up as well, use your health stone and Vial of the sunwell/Battlemasters early if needed. This fight is a survival fight. All you need to do is last through an initial burst and your good. The stealth detection from Fel hunter is a lot better then Void walker. But if the priest dies, I recommend getting a VW out fast and try not to get it kicked. Remember at the start of the fight keep a Prayer of mending renew and shield up for at least 10 seconds on both players( PoM on priest ). Have the lock do rank 1 rain of fire to avoid getting saped, If they do want to sap they’ll have to do CoS to get it off. If they go for the warlock first, Trinket out of Blind and go to a good distance and PI cast heals. **If you’re an exceptionally good player, Trinket out of sap and if they try to blind you, you can shadow word death out of it to avoid down time** They’ll wait for the DR to go off before doing a 2nd blind sometimes. Don’t forget to run in and dot them for a chance to black out and AoE fear on them though. Do not get behind on healing | |

| ok, i have been trying these strategies when facing druid/war, and i was curious when you say dispel the HoTs are you referring to lifeblooms? or the other HoTs that they apply? often i will bring the druid out of stealth, and he will immidiatley throw lifeblooms on his warrior. my priest is somewhat hesitant to dispel those, because of the instant haling effect. is this right? | |

| Stiz, it's a good rule to dispel when he has 3 or more hots up. Or, ofc also if there are less than 3 and none of them are lifeblooms. What you do to win is that u play extremely offensive against them. U should get into the mindset that you are a 2dps team. | |

I know you think it's easy, but maybe because it's the new season, we cant manage to kill more than 50% of them. If the warrior isnt a newb, he goes back behind the tomb, take heal and wins... | |

| yes you can translate, and anyone who has good advice can add their 2 cents as well. i dont play lock/priest anymore so i cant tell you anything new, what i know is in the guide, but maybe some of the problem is the way you warlocks are geared. my lock partner was gemed for damage, and could do tons, 80% of fights we had vs druid/war we blew up the war before he even knew what hit him. | |

| To Ololoczaz: Don't worry about dotting the paladin in a paladin/warrior fight, the only thing you should have on the paladin is a CoT, that's it. Let the warrior charge in on you (hopefully you can dot him before he charges) put SL/Cor/CoA/immolate on the warrior and start searing pain/draining his life. As soon as the paladin goes for a heal (with CoT on), spell lock him and he should have to bubble if he's gettin feared by your priest to keep his warrior alive so MD and fear gg.. Easiest fight for a priest/lock is against a paladin/warrior so there should be 0 problem. | |

| I have played both priest rogue and priest lock during the whole of s3 and also now in s4 sublety is just completely over powered. I mean i can count at least 20 times where the druid has a completely unprotected innervate out in the open and i just cant get it off after like 6-7 dispels. Is it just me or does it happen to u guys as well? | |

| Druid/Rogue is literally impossible to beat with this combo, especially because of what Frourakos says. If you manage to somehow OOM the Druid, he'll Innervate and you won't be able to dispel it because 1) You're slowed and the Druid is running or 2) It takes too many and by the time you get it off you're down over 1000 mana. | |

| With this setup, the longer it goes the harder you can win. Key point in this setup is nuke. The hardest combo for us is rogue/healer and hunter/healer. Letme give some tips about them. For rogue combo, try to take rog away from his healer and from his los, if he is noob enough with the start of the match you can get a easy win, dont try do mana burn the druid because even you can dispel the innervate he can even put his man up with 100 mana so its useless. For hunter/healer builds, you need to be fast, kill the hunters pet(too easy) very quick and shield pom renew your team and start to mana burn hunter, after he is done the game is yours... For warlocks pet, try to have Rank1 buffs before you gonna pop inner focus works well ;) Me and my partner have still problems about rogue/healer and Warlock/healer... | |

| @ Soulvation In shammy/lock game, you should make this quick. your lock should use his pet to other warlock because of the mana shield. In priest PoV, lets dispel the buffs... Try to erase all the totems esp tremor. If you will have the pet on you do not try to kill just have some rank 1 buffs spams them ;). When shaman is empty mana (with mana burn ofc) tell your lock friend to turn him. Give your partner a powerinf and go on with a Mindblast/SWD combo... He will probably pop his NS and dispelling that will give you the match... The key in this setup is you should be away from enemy lock, dispelling his shadow ward always.Rank1 buffs for enemy pet. Dont try to spam dispel mana shield, he can also spam with very low mana. Your partner must use his pet very smart with changing targets.Always have swp on both. The problem with shamans ES, you need to fake Mana burns, this will always work, and a NS dispel will give you a easy win. But there are several more tactics like killing the pet and spam dispel on warlock for Fel Domination. I tried it and didnt work well for me. | Having a lot of trouble with this comp in S4. In particular melee seems to be sitting my lock (or me!) a lot harder and not allowing us the leeway to gib/pressure them without risking death ourselves. Most comps are so frustrating that the very few we beat (double DPS, warr/sham, etc.) are starting to seem like charity. What are other people doing to adapt this season, particularly against increasing melee LOLFACEROLLDOUBLECLOTH? | |

| I've been trying some new strats with my Warlock, and we don't seem to have as much trouble as we used to. We're 1960-ish as I type this. Warrior/Druid is a 50/50 chance for us these days, depending on how determined the Warrior is to kill me or the Warlock. Rogue/Druid is a bit more difficult. You have to consistently keep the main target up while pumping out a stream of DPS. Sounds difficult, I know. Against Melee teams, we've found that it is useful to summon a Voidwalker and spam Suffering on Rogues and Warriors. | |

| @ Melancholy, you cannot dispell NS from a shaman or a druid if they have it macro'd. You said dispelling NS is key to beating sham/lock, (not that im having troubles with that team) but that is i-m-p-o-s-s-i-b-l-e. Sham/lock is kinddd of a 55-45 fight in their favour but i mean i've already played something like 300+ matches 1900-2k in S4 and have only ever fought one sham/lock... | |

| Guys i'd appreciate some info about lock spec with a priest.Is a UA build not viable for 1700+ rating?I have problems keeping dots on with pally teams and UA really helps.Also the instant Howl of Terror is nice.Do you believe that a lock looses too much by sacrificing Soul link and master demonologist to get more damage and UA? | |

| The only way for a team with a paladin to win is to rush them before they figure out your team comp. Pop all CDs on the priest and I use my bubble as a bait. I use it when my warrior is still safe and their priest is slighty low. Once I pop it I run around away from mass dispell and pray that the priest tunnel visions for a quick down without healing. | |

| we rarely loose to a pally no matter what his partner is..I can own mostly all pallys, the only ones that give a lil trouble with is a ret pally with a resto druid and even then, them pallys go down fast for me | |

| We are having huge troubles with lock pally the pally seems to mana regain super fast tried gibbing the pet which didn't work, then tried gibbing the warlock during fears which didn't work either lo. The one team we beat the warlock pally team, he wasted his sheild saving the warlock we switched to him and killed him. Another one is druid rogue, we take war druid easy however during the gib on the rogue he closes then vanishes and we are way behind on the mana war. | |

| my spec is 45/2/14 and helps me a ton against warriors and rogues opening on me, since my 23 sec CD fear is what i need to keep them off me enough time for my lock partner to drain the healer. the most painful enemy for disc priests tho is the hunter, he doesnt need more then 5 seconds to get you down to 50% with a wing clip and a viper sting on, plus unfearable while on Bestial wrath, plus pet stunning-poisoning. i'm getting huge troubles VS druid-hunter cause the druid always roots and cyclones my lock partner and charges me to prevent me from running out of LoS. VS healer-lock what i usually do is try to burn down the enemy healer while dispelling dots and running out of lock's LoS to avoid Drain Mana. VS priest-rogue im also getting troubles because by the time stunlock ends im down to 6k mana and health, since my lock partner is prolly sapped->blinded. my advice to all priests out there is to play smart against healer-DPS teams. running is not forbidden since we have instacast spells, unlike pallies. dispelling works miracles against restodruids. try to fear and manaburn the enemy healer while he's vulnerable. VS 2-rogue teams: respecc night elf for elune's grace otherwise its rly hard to beat them, unless your lock partner has good fear/lolcoil timings if anyone has any suggestions on how i can face hunters and warlocks, please tell me | |

| hi ppl, I ma first time on this sit and its very cool. I ma on 43/18/0 setup and its not bad we got 1700 rating.but I think we can get more, and I will try to go on 45/2/14 just like ritzen, I belive u its working 100%. I will try and report to u :) about setups priest/hunter is bad,tha drain my man fast and if I get only 1 burn or 2 from the priest I am so dead.warrior/pala its posibe, we tryed to nuke warrior bouth of us and we menage some times to win its not bad way,or nuke and burn pala if u have time to,when the warrior jumps to u its rly hard to burn. :) so I will try new spec.I like it from here, so lets se in arena what is going to happend... :)) | |

| Vs - Hunter / Druid we just Dot both upp(pain aswell) and my warlock nukes druid with shadowbolts, That should get the the druid to pannic and starts running. My lock will run after him and I pop power infusion and start nuking on the hunter. -> Hunter, Druid Dead. Vs - Warrior / druid we Dot the warrior upp and if the dots get him to 80% without the druid coming out of cat stealth i give my lock power infusion and he start spamming Sering Pain, And i use MindBlast, SWD, Chestise and when druid pops upp we fear him asap spell lock and all that. -> Warr dead. | |

| Somebody once said that positioning was key for this comp to work. I'm not exactly sure what are position needs to be. Are we supposed to be close together, far apart, a little of both, somebody pls share with me =) I feel our team has the gear, but lacks the execution. We destroy druid/warrior 85% of the time. Any team with a paladin we destroy, but if there's a talented rogue on the other team, its usually a loss. Any tips would be much appreciated. | |
