Priest/Warrior

VS.

Druid/Warlock

The Warrior should get on the Warlock. Fully Dispel the Warlock first, then the Druid. Fear when possible. Keep your Priest out of LoS of the Lock as often as possible. Be smart when dispelling DoTs on you and your team mate (get both Dispel use out of it). Get the pet low. Make sure that you don't buff often for anything you don't want dispelled, get Afflicted addon to watch the Cool Downs on the pet. But we usually get the pet at around ~60% health then call for the Warrior to come over to finish it off while I go try to Fear them. Dispel the heck out of the Warlock after the pet dies to try to Dispel his Fel Domination summon.

At this point the Lock will probably try to summon a Voidwalker, which, if you ask me, is an improvement. Fear is your friend, fear the pet often and keep out of LoS of it and others after you have done that. This fear should be able to score a few ticks of drink.

I have been following your guide closely and this matchup seems to never end on a positive note. How does my Warrior avoid a 3Cyclone/3Root /repeat CC combo from the Druid?

Should I play this extremely aggressive as a Priest, seems how I will never outlast a Druid or Warlock?

Make sure you fight them near something that you can LoS with. I recommend getting an addon that announces when people are casting spells (I use... Witchhunt... I think). The UI section can probably help you with that, and I believe I saw a post about it actually.
Spam dispel on the warrior if you see the druid casting roots. Dispel resists will kill you against this match up, and you just need to get the lock down during a fear on the druid. If you are having massive dispel resists (Resisting 6 times in a row is AWSOME) what I do is while I dispel my warrior I run to him as well, and toss PoM if it is still not dispelled by the time I get there. This will at least keep heals going between you and your partner at super low mana cost while you spam yourself with dispel to avoid being drained.

I play it as a mix. Fear the druid on cooldown if you can get to him quickly. Don't risk going in range of the lock for too long though, even if you are spamming dispel he can still go through some of your mana (or worse, fear then drain you). Shield your warrior, give him a renew, and dispel dots on him, then los the lock and put some pressure on his pet. SWP, Wand, Shadowguard if you wish. MB/SWD when it gets to about 60%. This should force the lock to call his pet back, or you are going to kill it. Either way, drink after.
If he does call it back, have your warrior hamstring the pet so that you can drink for longer.

It really comes down to just being near something that you can LoS with, paying close attention, and hoping for no spam dispel resists.

this "afflicted" addon to monitor pet's CDs appeals to me. I went to curse.com to search for it, but couldn't find it?

Afflicted can be found in WowInterface.com, here goes:

* http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info8063-Afflicted.html is the current stable version of Afflicted (Confirmed to work with 2.4.)

There is also a BETA coming up with some improvements for 2.4 (http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info8468-AfflictedBETA.html)

I've been reading through tips for fighting warlock druid, or well anything with a druid really I play priest hunter and we are about mid 1700s rating but everytime we hit a druid we have trouble, we have read up on everything we can find about dealing with them but it never seems to work, any ideas where i can find some info that would help or is my matchup a lost cause?

Considering, I've never 2ed with a hunter, I couldn't offer anything constructive...

I play Warrior/Priest a bit. We find it easier to just go crazy offensive on the druid as soon as he pops out. With priest spamming dispells and throwing some nukage, we can usually gib the druid pretty fast, and the lock can't do much about it, seeing as my priest has Fear Ward, WoTF, and trinket. I have alot of fear breaks too, and I will usually trinket the first cyclone or the nature's grasp, to keep pressure heavy, then I will fear if he tries to slip away again. I just build up rage on the lock until druid pops out.

Ye me and my warrior does the same think bullyfoot, we find it hard to win a manafight against lock/druid eventho we have dispells. This is a pretty easy combo since the lock cant really do shit against us nuking the druid.
GiveitamplzJun 2, 2008 - 8:17 PM (HideShow)
We usually just start off on the warlock, switch to druid when he pops to heal, then go back to warlock if he turns bear. The druid will generally cyclone you when you first go on him, which I trinket to get more hits while he is in caster form.

That strategy sounds overly complicated to the point it can't be realistically done most of the time, especially the killing the pet part. Well what about the case that the lock is demo? He can summon pet in .5 seconds, so you have .5 seconds to dispel the Fel Domination (Good Luck! LOL). The only thing I can think of in that case is have the Warrior fear the Warlock then you dispell the Warlock, assuming the Warrior isn't cycloned/feared/death coiled/rooted/etc and hasn't used his fear yet.

And what about Blade's Edge Arena? If your hiding behind a pillar, the Druid will just heal from the platform where you can't cast jack shit on him and the Warlock will never die until the Druid runs out of mana, which will be a long assed time.
SouldierJun 12, 2008 - 3:41 AM (HideShow)
I've had alot of luck with warrior staying on Lock with full sunders up, while the priest manaburns the druid anytime he tries to CC. Druid will spend alot of time in bearform and the lock shouldn't be able to get off many fears with the warrior on him.
ExtremegJun 19, 2008 - 6:03 PM (HideShow)
Maraiah. The lock will ALWAYS be demo. It's called being good, knowing when he is going to Fel Dom (which is logically soon after the pet dies). Even if it doesn't get dispelled, you just kill the second Felhunter, or if he pulls out a Voidwalker it's GG because your priest is free to cast all day as long as you interrupt fears and your Priest isn't a moron. He can also spam instants all day, if the Lock only dots one of you Renew can outheal the dots and if he dots both of you ProM bounces all day. The only way this match is lost as Priest/Warrior is if while killing the pet they CC your Priest for 20+ seconds with Fears/Cyclones/Spell Lock/Bash et al. A possibility easily eliminated by decent timing with Fears/switching back to the Lock.

Also, the Warrior should be LoSing CC from the Druid. If the Lock pulls him out into the open, have your Priest pull the pet out towards you, intercept it, hamstring, challenging shout and gib it while your Priest runs across to keep them in combat/stop a summon. Worst case scenario the lock has time to cast a full summon and the match restarts. Best case scenario you have a dead pet.

remember: holy damage will not be resisted by the felhunter, therefore you can burst the first pet down extremely fast with your warrior's help
