| Where is the Rogue/Rogue tactic? | |
| Feb 7, 2008 - 12:36 AM (HideShow) | |
| we never really faced rogue/rogue | |
| Feb 7, 2008 - 10:39 PM (HideShow) | |
| Honestly nothing special. CC one out, nuke second -> key is just to survive long enough. If they both go for rogue, you have 30 seconds of low damage (evasion and stuff). If they both go for mage, and they are really good, you are doomed, because they can make you unable to CC even one of them. The key of rog/rog team is to not get CCed, and your way to fight is to CC one kill another. All depends who is better at kiting and CCing. | |
| Feb 7, 2008 - 10:41 PM (HideShow) | |
| One more thing, find them first or they gotta have HUGE advantege over you. If they get opening at you and they dont do any mistake, they win. | |

| any ele shaman, bm hunter strats? | |
| Mar 25, 2008 - 10:06 AM (HideShow) | |
| Shammy/warlock is piss easy imo. Rogue starts of on the warlock with an insane stunlock + 5 pt expose armor. Mage focuses on sheeping CSing the shaman. When the shaman trinkets from sheep (and he will) the rogue will pop sprint and run over to blind the shaman. If you notice the warlock not dying still you vanish and sap the shaman 6s into the blind while your mage is laying the smackdown on the lock. | |
| Mar 25, 2008 - 10:09 AM (HideShow) | |
| ele shaman BM hunter? LOL? That should be cake. focus the shaman down with stunlock while sheeping the hunter. If the hunter pops BW (turns red) whoever is focused pops iceblock or clos+vanish. Then you start over on the shaman. But the shaman should be dead as hell with a rogue + mage focusing him. Just be sure to time your imp counterspell the minute the shaman gets out of the stunlock. | |

| what about the rogue beeing mutilate? would it work? | |
| Mar 31, 2008 - 9:35 PM (HideShow) | |
| I wonder the same about mutilate. But indeed, shadowstep is much easier to CC with. | |
| Apr 1, 2008 - 5:33 PM (HideShow) | |
| Mutilate will be better in a few instances (ganking a clothie). However, whenever the fight's gonna last more than, say, 20 seconds, ShS is just gonna be better. Mutilate rogues get stuck in place way too easily. | |
| Apr 11, 2008 - 5:32 PM (HideShow) | |
| I run this comp as combat mutilate and it's okay -- but I'd reccomend 41/0/20 or 49/0/12 for a 2's mutilate. Anyway, it's doable, but the loss in survivability and mobility is very apparent. The burst synergizes nicely and some teams you will just drop stupidly quick, but teams that know what they're doing will peel you much easier which is a huge disadvantage as double dps. | |

| Against lock/mage you can attack either target, but your mage has to LoS them a lot. They will be focusing the mage so, if you hide behind a pillar for the most part, your rogue will work one of them and you negate most of their damage. Mage should remove curses as well. Just dont let their mage get a shatter on you. | |

| We had 5 fights against a Ret pally and Windfury shammy. we were playing rogue/mage. They always rush on me (mage) we tried to focus on the shammy and killed him one but at the cost of a lot of life. Anyone can suggest an strategy ? | |
| May 1, 2008 - 5:56 PM (HideShow) | |
| Shammy's the right target. Keep the mage back as much as possible, which even means leaving him out of the fight for about half of it, as a rogue can really tank two nearly-non-stunning melee with two evasions and ghostly strike. Also, BoP is dispellable, while divine shield just isn't. You may also be able to catch a foolish heal before the bubble (which is a mistake more ret pallies are inclined to make simply because they're not so big on healing) which just means a counter-spell and a win. But your mage is gonna have to be pillar humping the whole time and dispelling whoever's got BoF. Luckily, only one possible magic buff on this team. | |

| I play Mage/Rogue on my main and it just seems nearly impossible to keep the Druid from LoSing the Mage once Warrior is fully CC'd. Is there any specific tips for a Rogue to keep the Druid locked down so mage can cast and unload damage? For instance waiting to execute his stuns once the druid is in Humanoid form. Also is there a common sequence for the Rogue to do this? ie. Garote > CheapShot > Prep > KidneyShot on Druid or does the Mage just Insta cast and try to keep up. If the mage doesn't get LoS'd, 80% of the time the Elemental will eliminating the ShatterCombo oppotunity. Any tips will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. | |

| May 13, 2008 - 7:14 PM (HideShow) | |
| "dude, nerves of steel sucks unless your orc" With AR/prep most people would get it over the extra 4% AP....vs. priest/rogue resisting a fear means you can trinket blind and it's GG, priest/rogue can actually be somewhat tough if you eat a fear since if you trinket it you're going to get blind/sapped and if you don't trinket the rogue can sap you when fears almost up which = a lot of CC... Since AR/prep nerf though noone gets NoS except for the spriest/rogue teams since that's the one setup AR/prep is still really good in. | |

| For Rogue Rogue, we usually just try to CC both of them, the made really can't dps just freeze and sheep if possible, Me (The Rogue) I would shiv crip on both and try to 2 combo rupture both so they could keep stunning the mage, worked well if the rogues didn't get 2 many hits off, the mage goes down fast, and they will double blind you. | |

| Would like to hear a strat vs. human rogue/rogue teams, my team is undead rogue/undead mage, we were to 2100 last night until we faced a human rogue/night elf rogue team (thank god only 1 was human). First game they found me via perception and I got gibbed (my pre-vanish had ran out :-s) 2nd game I hid in the starting area until they opened on my mage, then I came and opened on one of them and they immediately switched to me. I somehow managed to tank them both (I vanished a cs and a ks, lol) while we killed one. After that we couldn't beat them.. what they would do is have the night elf open on my mage and make the mage blow his cds on the 1v1, then the human comes in when my mage is low (i would usually be coming in at around the same time), my mage dies, but it takes me longer to finish off the night elf thanks to his cheat death, so by that time the human has had some time to start on me... at this point it's a 1v1, but him at 100%, me at 50% or less. Not to mention even if I get away, he has perception. The human was just sitting there every time (after our 2nd match victory) waiting for me to open on his partner so he could open on me.. he wouldn't come out if I didn't come out. What do you think.. when it is one rogue vs. my mage, should i let them 1v1, but maybe throw in a garrote + shiv cripp + vanish before the other rogue can open on me to give my mage the edge in the 1v1? or just start immediately on the first rogue and then try my best to tank them both when they switch to me? Keep in mind any poly attempts in order to peel them from me (as described in one of the posts above) are pretty much a waste of time, any decent rogue/rogue will clos/vanish/etc. every one (as they did when we tried that). + They always insta-trinket blind.. I usually throw it just to make one of them trinket (it makes them pause for half a second), but it's (almost) pointless. Also keep in mind how hard it is to tank 2 non terrible ShS rogues at the same time (especially when one gets the opening cs+rupture on you | |

| Rogue/Rogue is pretty easy. If it's human, try to avoid being taken out, there are various ways to do this, including prevanishing. Wait until one saps your mage, if they sap your mage, pre-vanish and sap one of them out, if your vanish is running out, get out of there and wait until a rogue opens on your mage. Once they open, there is a possibility only one rogue will pop out. Even if only one pops out, pick one, call it out and open on him with a premed -> cs -> rupture then vanish and gtfo of there. The rogues will NOT want to kill your mage, that is not their strat and it's still very difficult for two rogues to kill your mage. Leave your mage to try solo 1 v 1 with the rogue, as soon as the other rogue comes out, your mage should iceblock. Hop out, cheapshotting the rogue you started on, blind the other rogue instantly and have your mage come out of iceblock and start casting sheep. Nine times out of ten the rogue will trinket blind and be instantly sheeped for full duration. At this stage it is cake, finnish of the one rogue, restealth and collect points. If a human rogue gets you out, kiss your ass goodbye, because there is no way a decent rogue/rogue should lose to you. They will have one open on you with garrote, while one cheapshots you and puts a 5 point expose armor on you... not being able to vanish leaves you helpless as they can both cloak and easily kill you in 5 seconds before your mage is able to land a sheep. So pretty much, if you can not get picked out of stealth, it's not that hard at all... Always keep evasion up when you are out of stealth, until you have one of the rogues in full sheep. Evasion/Ghostly Strike will help incredibly to avoid bleeding. gl | |
| Jun 16, 2008 - 6:22 AM (HideShow) | |
| Rogue/Paladin Two ways you can go about this, it is NOT an easy matchup. Pretty much you need to force the paladin to bubble asap... As soon as you have done this, iceblock and vanish. Restart the fight and burst either of them down. We prefer bursting down the paladin in this order. Mage goes invisible, very important. Once mage is invis, rogue needs to sap paladin and mage needs to hug the side of a pillar. This gives him a 50% chance he will get a shatter off... The rogue is either going to be on one side of the pillar in los to shadowstep your mage, or he will be on the otherside, pick one and hope for the best. If you get a shatter off, the paladin will almost instantly bubble. Make sure to wait until your mage has got the shatter off before you open on the pally... If you open on the paladin after the mage iceblocks, you will be putting him into a 10 second stunlock, (cs->5 point ks) and he HAS to trinket/bubble. If he trinkets, blind him and he will bubble. Once he bubbles, vanish, your mage should iceblock. At this stage it is pretty much just bursting the paladin making sure your rogue interrupts EVERY SINGLE heal... This is not hard, just make sure you save enough energy for kick, and get ready to run into deadly throw range if he fakes. Sap the paladin once he drops combat (while your mage is iceblocked). Get your mage to try get a sheep off on the rogue, if not just burst the pally as hard as he can. If your blinds up, blind the rogue. Then just zerg the pally as hard as you can. If the paladin doesn't get a cast off, he should die within 15-20 seconds, and he SHOULDN'T get a cast off, make sure to communicate when you are going to kick/counterspell so you both know not to waste them at the same time. Like I say, paladin rogue is not easy. There are very few of them around 2k+, however we have faced a few at 2200, so don't be surprised to see them fairly high. gl | |

| Amazing Disc Priest/Rogue Tactic my partner and I use: Gates open and we see a D:Priest. I go invisible, while he ShS Saps. When he calls that out, I go out a bit of distance( ~30 yards ) and shatter the priest, unloading everything. When the rogue pops, if he goes on my rogue, sheep him, if on me, kite him, while nova'ing the priest followed by lances and properly timed counterspells. Very easy. ( Currently 1781 in 2' ) was 2058 before season ended. Good strat | |

| VS Resto Shamy + Lock If the mage can stay back (or invis) and not get put in combat before the rogue can either sprint, lolstep, or prevanish and sap the lock, it's a good start. From here the lock is the CC target. You should both set /focus the lock. Whether you win or lose depends on how long it takes you to blow up the shamy. The rogue should hard stunlock the shamy, CS->KS->Vanish garrote. I personally do a CS->hemo->gouge->KS to give my mage time to get in a good LOS position. Also, you NEED your rogue to have a 3rd poison - mind numbing - in rotation or this will be tough to win. I weapon swap to it during the gouge. Shatter him early and if poisons go up quick enough, his trinket->NS heal will only bring him back to 50%. Even if he hits 100% here, he has no more outs, due to no instant heals, and his heals take 40% longer! Lock should be blinded or sheeped now, fears CS'd, LOS'd, clos'd, etc. The rogue needs to kick + deadly throw heals, so you have to CC/CS the lock's fear to keep your rogue on target once he is out of CDs. If the rogue gets peeled off the shamy, you probably just lost. It's do or die time - if you take the shamy down it's a 2v1 vs the lock with almost no CD's left for you, it's a winnable fight but no gauranteed win. If you let a heal go through and fail to take down the shamy before you're out of CDs, it's game over. | |

| Okay so, I am a mutilate rogue with an ice mage in 2's. The only team we really have trouble against is disc priest/rogue. New team, we played 23 games and got to 1698 and were going to stop at 1700, then we got against a couple rogue/priest teams :/ Is there any other advice you would give to me other than the strat you stated for a ShS? | |

| I play this combo a lot, it being the best mage 2v2. And we beat most of the teams, we just have a big problem with BM hunter\Lock. They both send their pets on me and I can do nothing that's not instant cast, any strats? | |
| Jul 20, 2008 - 11:10 AM (HideShow) | |
| IF you are undead, you have much higher chances at winning by going for the priest... Invis-->Sap priest--->Shatter out of invis. When the rogue gets on your rogue (Or you!) Sheep him, as soon as the first sheep goes off, Improved silence the priest so he cannot be dispelled. If he gets trinket happy because his priest is about to die, Blind him. Will not work as alliance as your rogue will get feared, will have to trinket, into blind, and most likely sap. There are many arguements on which is smarter as to going for the priest out of invisible or going for the rogue while ccing the priest, but there is no doubt, only while having will of the forsaken, that going for the priest out of invisibility is by far the most winningest strategy. If your opinion does not agree with what I have just said, it is irrelevant and you're bad. I Did not think this up in 1 minute. Many relevancy tests, instances, situations have been considered, and it is definetely the most efficient. 1712 2v2 Enhance shaman/ mage (Solaros/Soralos) was Dual-boxed. Shamans helmplz. | |
