General Information

As you may already know Feral Druids are not that popular, but it is a very fun build to play and provides a good challenge to those who seek it. This guide is written from the Druid's perspective.

I recommend that anyone interested in this setup go watch Deep's videos, he knows his stuff, and has very good examples of most of the team compositions. The movies "Deep Feral 5" and "Deep Feral 6" are both available with commentary on Warcraft Movies.

Quick Tips

  • Having a Human Rogue is Ideal for this setup if you are Alliance.
  • Having an Undead Rogue is Ideal for this setup if you are Horde.
  • You will be healing and casting a lot, get used to it.

Builds

Druid

1/46/14
This is the standard arena Feral talent setup. 2 points are taken out of Stun and Fear resist, to put into Nurturing Instinct which gives you +Healing equal to 100% of your Agility and increases healing done to you by 20% in Cat Form(Self HoTs and Improved Leader of the Pack included). You pick up Nature's Grasp for CC/Escape, Furor, Natural Shapeshifter, Naturalist and Omen of Clarity to top it all off.

1/47/13
This is pretty much the same spec, except for 2 points are switched around. One point is taken out of Survival of the Fittest, which is a loss of 1% stats and 1% anti crit. Also 1 point taken out of Natural Shape shifter resulting in shifting costing about 100 more Mana per shift. These 2 points get put into Primal Tenacity to add an extra 10% Stun and Fear resist, which is HUGE!

This spec is only recommended if you are confident in your abilities to escape/avoid CC/Damage and to dish it out as well. I would make sure you are have high Resilience and that you have a good Mana pool to back it all up.

Rogue

20/0/41 - Standard Shadow Step
There are a few variations of this, I know my partner did not pick up Ghostly Strike and chose to put that point into Enveloping Shadows instead. It saved us a number of times for sure.

Just a little confused on what you mean by "throw you're bleeds up" as a druid?

Pounce mangle mangle rip?
IrunfastMay 10, 2008 - 5:24 PM (HideShow)
And yes, I'm new to feral. lol.
ConfideMay 11, 2008 - 2:15 PM (HideShow)
Bleeds for a Druid: open with pounce, then mangle, *IF you have time or a clearcasting use shred*, then use Rip, the target should be bleeding for a very good amount of damage.

Bleeds for a rogue: open with rupture, hemo once or twice, and then rupture.

This gets alot of DoTs going so hes taking damage no matter what.

"Bleeds for a rogue: open with rupture, hemo once or twice, and then rupture"

I believe you mean open with Garrote.
KérberusMay 12, 2008 - 7:20 AM (HideShow)
Yup, open with Pounce and Garrote since both benefit from Mangle.
PsilenceMay 12, 2008 - 12:09 PM (HideShow)
The Blood Elf Racials Mana Tap/Arcane Torrent are also very desirable for this setup. Often the 2 second silence in addition to the extra energy is that last nail in the healers coffin.
ConfideMay 12, 2008 - 5:11 PM (HideShow)
yes supa you are correct, I have just been out of it lately...

I also noticed I used the wrong "your" up above.
This is what knowing you are gonna get stuck with rival does to your BRANE...

SlilentMay 13, 2008 - 11:29 PM (HideShow)
I would also say watch The fat cow 4, was a good feral/rogue video, playing around 2k.
btw, hes having babies with me
RalppiMay 19, 2008 - 10:28 AM (HideShow)

I guess not all the info was put into this post. You wont see ferals in the top builds listed above for the obvious reasons. They are listed from a feed.

Druid

Standard arena feral talent setup, 2 points taken out of stun and fear resist, to put into nurturing instinct which gives you +healing equal to 100% of your agility and increases healing done to you by 20% in catform(Self HoTs and Imp LotP included). Nature's Grasp for CC/ Escape, Furor-Natural Shapeshifter-5/5 Naturalist and Omen of Clarity to top it off.

DrakieJun 12, 2008 - 2:59 AM (HideShow)
I have a small question, I'm planning to run this comp soon and I have access to all PvE gear pre-sunwell,

What pieces/what stats do you advise to aim for?
ConfideJun 12, 2008 - 7:13 AM (HideShow)
I go in full arena/pvp gear because thats all i was able to get : / 1pc t5 ftl

if you can manage to get 2 pc's of t6 from sunwell, it works very well having that bonus along with the 4pc arena run speed. some people still use 2pc t5 and sacrifice the run speed, but it might be getting a bit out of date now.

if you can catch deep-nerzuhl in his arena gear, he has probably the best gear setup .

2pc t6
4pc arena
the 2 ring x2
the new nights eye panther trinket.

2 strats you will prolly have to work on the most, will be healer/lock, and warrior shammy. prolly the 2 hardest comps to fight imo.

BluelegendJun 26, 2008 - 1:18 AM (HideShow)
I never found shaman to pose that much of a threat in arena for my rogue/feral team unless it was in nagrand los pillars.
UntraceableJul 23, 2008 - 11:57 AM (HideShow)
a sword rogue (combat spec) +leader of pack = imba % Crit chance!! amazing. i love this combo but it has more cripples then wins.

The rogue talent link to some fail build 19/0/45 http://www.wowdb.com/talent.aspx?id=4#::fe2fe2f4ef2df31edef2e2fe6fe3f2e2:
HanharrAug 15, 2008 - 8:32 PM (HideShow)
I just remade my self a new talent recently, it is 1/47/13 but not the same exact one as u posted earlier http://www.wowdb.com/talent.aspx?id=11#fef19efe6fe4de5defe2fdf2ef12 this i itnhk is a great survival spec, i myself isnt that great at staying behind my target, so i use mangle/rake but sometimes shred if i can pull off a clear casting at the right time. have a look and see what u think.
HanharrAug 15, 2008 - 8:35 PM (HideShow)
and it doesnt have a direct link so i guess copy/paste it
FelyaeAug 16, 2008 - 7:00 AM (HideShow)
No shredding means a major loss of dps. You shouldn't have that much trouble getting behind a crippled target, let alone one being stunlocked.
HanharrAug 20, 2008 - 9:02 PM (HideShow)
here i modified this a little bit, i took out 2 points of the armor increse and put it into the shred part so far i have gotten better at using shred and ppl have been going down alot faster :D. So heres thel ink of the spec tell me what u think
http://www.wowdb.com/talent.aspx?id=11#fef19efe2ce8de5defe2fdf2ef12 ( be sure to copy paste )
ReckonAug 25, 2008 - 3:54 PM (HideShow)
What's the ideal spec for the rogue in this combo?
if anyone can link me the spec it will be great
SnelminkAug 27, 2008 - 8:37 PM (HideShow)
Hehe Reckon, ask Slý @vashj for some advice :)
Friendly n helpfull!
ReckonAug 28, 2008 - 12:15 PM (HideShow)
thanks, I will :]
TarantaSep 29, 2008 - 9:33 PM (HideShow)
The Deep Feral movies are indeed great... btw i don't think those teams play as feral tbh, armory shows resto all over.

I play as feral in 2v2 myself with a rogue, got both s3 gladiator title and s4 shoulders with it. its über fun no doubt! :)
HanharrOct 15, 2008 - 8:45 PM (HideShow)
Deep plays all 3 specs he mainly does resto in raids
