Druid/Warlock

VS.

Druid/Warrior

Difficulty 9.5/10

This comp somewhat resembles Shaman/Warrior,as they don't have dispel, and some may think that's easier...it's not.

Problem here is that you can't kill the Warrior in any way unless the Druid is really bad or oom. It's hard to oom him because he does not have to cast to heal at all. So far we failed to beat the top Druid/Warrior team in our BG so I can't give a good tactic, but in more than the half games we lost when both druids were oom or when my druid did a mistake and died. So i guess playing defensively while trying to oom the druid may work if played to perfection.

I will update this if we find something useful or someone adds something.

Note:Against every warrior team if you happen to have Sunder armor stacked to 5 try to wear it off.

i played a few games mucking round with a lock and found best way to beat this comp was to CC warrior with roots and cyclones and mana drain the druid. even forcing the druid to constantly shift to avoid drains costs him mana and he cant heal in bear form.

There are problems at dalaran/nagrand arena with that cause good druid will just hug pillar and it will be extremely hard to reach him ... and ofc doing 0 dmg to warrior = druid doesn't have to heal him so he is able to easly kit around pillar the warlock.

When druid pillar humps you can always lure the warrior away to force him out;p.But yes in some maps is much harder to play that way.

In some games against 2300-2400 teams we tried to go super offensive on the warrior.Cyclone him when the lifeblooms are about to end ,try to have 2 stacks of shadow embrace to reduce the healing, spam shadowflame on cd to reduce his mobility etc.I have to say it was successful but the top teams play like s3-4,they dont care so much to kill you but to oom the healer while turtling when needed.Intervene back at 80% meh...and ofc train pet a lot.

Note: Tree form can be banished. Often it is a decent strat to fully dot the warrior and drag it away from the pillar humping druid. when the druid pops out. Work a chain of cyclones and banishes, fears etc together with a spell lock to finish the warrior off. This combo is tough and takes alot to get used to. Good luck

rofl i honestly think you guys will have a much harder time vs shaman warrior for many reasons.

1) water shield
2) Tremor/shamans cant be banished
3) windfury(More damage for war) + grounding totem/windshock Make a druids life alot harder
4) Pets are a joke to kill
5) Profit

I started playing druid/lock this week up to 2550ish and have not yet lost to druid/warrior. Like Darlak said, we found that cc on the warrior with occasional dps on him to bring the druid out so I could drain him was the best tactic. Against the average teams, we were able to pull this off, wearing the other druid through both his mana pools without burning our innervate. A few things to remember, fearing the warrior does help. If he burns his berserker rage, you can just fear him for full duration later when it's on cooldown. I try to make him blow it every time it's up, before he can use it when he's actually putting pressure out. Focustarget>drain mana helps against the pillar humping druids so you can get the mana drain off without having to take the .2 seconds to target him and miss the opportunity. I honestly think this fight is at worst a 6/10, and has been a 4/10 for me so far.

feral druid/resto druid 2s is fun, now fix ret arcane mage ad destro lock burst dips, its retarded
StrokedJun 23, 2009 - 3:00 PM (HideShow)
Doesnt work, warriors just kills lock pet fast and if lock is on druid he will bear form and run away like chicken.
DeeboJun 26, 2009 - 7:36 PM (HideShow)
If warrior tunnel your pet there's no way in hell you will win this match.

hard setup especially if they are good. u cant outlast cause warrior does sick dmg + MS. u just try to gib him by cc druid or catch druid without hots and kill him in a cc sequence (fear, spell lock, deathcoil, bash)

( weird im responding here as rogue, but im playing a resto druid and arms warr aswell :P ) tbh... sometimes /afk might be the best thing to avoid frustration.. some matchups are just impossible if you got decent teams against you.... im playing priest/rogue and if i face decent dk/resto druid team my only possibility is to burst the fuck out of the Dk when he comes ( priest has 20 talents in holy for some nice dmg ) and hope he and the druid ( priest will try n fear the druid ) trinkets... and later on the fight see for an opener on the fucking druid.. but ye to come back to this setup... i've noticed from playing warr/druid and playing druid/lock that if the warrior just keeps on raping the pet... you kinda cant do shit :P the pet will or drop.. or the druid goes oom insanly fast due to the MS effect and the retarded dmg warriors can put out... druid will just cyclone in between aswell to make it more annoying :P

Only chance you got imo is just to see if you can for as far as possible with this comp zerg the warr down :P

Well it worked in TBC and works also in WOTLK, switching targets ooms a druid a lot, have your druid cyclone warrior be4 blooms expand ofc, and if u see the problem of a warrior charing ur druid when he comes out, fear him and then he will be stuck in globals, if he tries 2 ruin ur pet, healtfunnel and pull back, cyclone him fear him w/e 2 make him stop, their druid might drink here so keep an eye out on that..

How to kill him:
Well theres the nuke where u r using all cd's on cc'ing druid and booming warrior, and then u can cyclone warrior if it fails at first
Then try again later on if u feel like.
Or
Run the mana race, borng like hell but u will kill a warrior so easily if his druid is oom (surprise)

*Note* Getting the druid oom is the hard part

I think that the main idea is to dot up the warrior and los im from druid the more u can and keep a good chance for cyclone-cyclone spellock fear on enemy druid so u can nuke warrior with ur druid. In some arenas, druid warrior can be facking annoying coz druid can find a way to use some water and regen mana like crazy.Like in chess-wait for a nice check mate move...and dont waste ur time to oom enemy druid.its wasted since he gives hots and hides all the time.

Exactly as Maiva said, timed pressure on the warrior will force the druid out, drain him slowly but surely!

Also take for example pillars like nagrand, assuming he doesn't prehot the warrior as soon as you put up all your dots you can be sure he'll be popping his face in, which is when you should fit in a howl of terror on both, dcoil the warrior and go to town.

Exhaustion on the warrior is insanely useful, especially after getting him in a fear and LOSing with your druid after; your pet is keeping the druid in combat, if he comes to stop your druid from drinking then that'll cost him ~3k mana yumyum!
ConvictionzAug 1, 2009 - 9:38 AM (HideShow)
Also if you want to make the druid is chilling in constant bear mode try bursting him if he has no pre-hots, if he does spam exhaustion on his warrior nothing getings him out like CLEANSE THIS WHAT THE FUDGE
BlackviseAug 14, 2009 - 7:20 AM (HideShow)
I think the destro lock can. Just manage your switching, druids on swarms, and combo the druid if he's wide open.

I dont get it, we used to beat warrior/druid every single time with ease pre 3.2. It was very easy, fear the warrior so he goes berserk rage, then cyclone/roots him np. And then just drain the druid, auto cast devour magic as u dont need to dispel any CC. So when he does innervate you have a higher chance to eat his innervate. But now in 3.2 with innervagte halved CD its impossible to oom him.
RotsalotSep 18, 2009 - 7:03 AM (HideShow)
we run outlast with this matchup, but it doesn't take too much. basically, my druid cyclones the warrior and i jump on the druid dotting and draining. when the cyclones are on dr for the war, then he get rooted and i dot him a bit and fear him off.

i'll sometimes start my pet on the war just to gobble his buffs first, but mostly he's on the druid. if the druid is smart, he'll be doing a lot of shifting to avoid the drains so then you just need to throw a good fear in there while he's caster or tree to get full drains. once he shifts, you switch to damage mode.

save your spell locks for the druid's cyclones to avoid him ccing your heals.

also, get your teleport stone out early and don't let the warrior engage you near it but try to stay near enough that you can use it. nothing frustrates a warrior like teleporting away from his blade storm.

it shouldn't take long to get the druid oom. even if he gets his innervate, it's not gonna get him back to full mana so just repeat.
