Druid/Warrior

VS.

Priest/Rogue

This match is fun because you get to play the game "How much did my warrior just crit that Rogue for?". LOS the burns, and Have your Warrior sit on the Rogue and shove his weapon down the Rogue's throat.

This fight is generally easy, but can turn very bad if the Priest Mana Burns you. Have the Warrior start on the Priest, and when the Rogue pops out on your Warrior, get to max range, then Abolish/HoT the Warrior. Whenever you get feared, your Warrior may need to switch to the Priest to stop the Mana Burns via Pummel or mace stun.

The Rogue will either stay on the Warrior, or jet straight for you, depending on the other team's playstyle.

They Play conservative (Go for the warrior) (Standard play):
The Priest will be following you around nonstop, trying to get the game-tipping Fear->Mana Burn Mana Burn->Chastise Mana Burn combo off. The key here is Abolish Poison on the Warrior, and keeping a VERY close eye on the Priest to see if he's dispelling the Abolishes/HoTs off the Warrior. Your Warrior needs to keep the Priest Hamstrung whenever he can, you can do this easily by Intervening to you, (since the Priest will be closer to you) Hamstringing him, then Intercepting back to the Rogue. With Hamstring on the Priest, you should be able to stay far away from him/Losing his burns while keeping HoTs/Abolish on your Warrior pretty easily. The only real "danger" here is eating a Fear->Blind->Sap combo and having them both finish off your Warrior, so you two need to be very away of what's going on. If you get feared, and the Warrior sees the Priest start attacking him instead of Mana Burning you, he needs to shield/spell reflect and start pillar kiting. A bigger sign that they're about to burn you down will be that the Rogue will start running after you when you get Feared, this is because he's trying to get off a Blind/Sap combo on you. Once the Priest goes OOM from healing the Rogue, you win. The biggest thing for you here is to WATCH THE PRIEST'S DISPELS, making sure than you keep abolish up at all times, a 5x stacked wound poison can be very, very bad.

They Play Aggressive(Go for you):
The Priest will be following you around nonstop slamming dispel and trying to mana burn while the Rogue unloads all his cooldowns into you in hopes of getting mace stuns and burning you down. Your Warrior is Sitting on the Rogue (Making sure to ALWAYS keep 10 rage up for a Piercing Howl in case the Rogue Sprints or Vanishes so you can get away, and keeping Hamstring on both the Rogue and the Priest. Unless they proc a lot of lucky mace stuns, you should be able to get away with Hamstring on both the Rogue and Priest. Watch the Mana Burns here, the Priest will sometimes try to chain Mana Burn while the Rogue keeps you locked up. Pillar kiting here is very dangerous as well, because you either have to run into the Rogue to get stunlocked, or the Priest to get Feared/Mana Burned. This is a fight where you want to stay at max range from the Rogue/Priest as much as possible, and popping out at max range in the beginning really helps. If the Rogue catches you with the Priest about to catch up to you to fear you, you can have your Warrior Intercept/Hamstring the Priest, the Intervene back to you to buy yourself extra 2-5 seconds before the Priest gets close enough to Fear you. The Priest will go OOM soon enough because of how much damage you Warrior is ramming into the Rogue, then simply finish them off for a win.

Notes:
  • Evasion means your Warrior is hitting the Rogue every 5 seconds. Usually they will pop evasion when they feel they need to get heals, so when he pops evasion, have the Warrior call it out, and Cyclone the Priest. (unless they're on you, then you're generally to busy running away. He can switch to the priest here to build rage.)
  • Adrenaline Rush is a scary thing, an AR rogue can rip your Warrior apart. When he blows AR, your Warrior needs to call it and switch to the Priest, while you Cyclone the Rogue. When AR is over, switch back. (Again, if they're aggressive, you're to busy to Cyclone, so your Warrior can continue to beat on the Rogue since the Rogue isn't targeting the Warrior
  • Keep Faerie Fire on the Rogue, it reduces his armor and means he has to use Cloak to Vanish.
  • Pick up Shadow Sight, it prevents the Blind/Sap combos that can kill your Warrior.
  • 10 rage at all times to Piercing Howl the Rogue out of Vanishes/Sprints.

I like to play this one nice and slow. You have the mana advantage, but if you're too aggressive they do have a shot at bursting down your warrior, or blowing through your mana between burns and hot dispels. If it's clear they're going for him, have him put on his shield and one hander, and just dps in arms stance (pull out the 2h if he has a lot of rage built up and is safely between stun locks). You may need to throw some cyclones into the priest, or juggle between them towards the start of the fight, but once it's midway through the priest will be hurting to keep the rogue up.

It is a bit harder to stay on the rogue when they're all ShS now though, this seems to be in the AR/Prep days.

Anth... to be honest, unless you are terrible and you're druid is terrible.. you shouldn't lose to this combo. shs doesn't help us to much as long as you are hamstringing/intercepting the rogue and have ms on him as much as possible. PS: I generally hate this combo :):)

shs 30 second cd 3 sec movement buff

intercept 15 sec cd 3 sec stun

where exactly is the problem? :P

What I meant is that it's a bit harder to prevent all of the rogue's damage now, a well timed shoop can still open up an opportunity for a well timed KS in caster form.

The biggest problem I have with this combo is the shadow/disc hybrid/rog that dispells all the hots while raping me.

The comb is (mostly) easy as druid/warrior, but we've got some big problems with discpriest and multilaterogue since 2.4
The poisons are all of the time on the warrior, abolish makes no sence because my warrior got all of the poisons in about 3-4seconds while priest is dispelling and hunting me. I'm going to go oom faster than the priest and we've lost.

just throwing this out there, but your warrior should wreck that rogue if he's only mutilate...
only thing that usually saves rogues from warriors is cheat death, which he would not have with mutilate

A warrior can keep a rogue locked down with hamstrings, piercing howl, fear, intercept and help by intervening stuns off you. This comp is one of the easiest.

IMO if the rogue is shs
A: (rogue is on the warrior) sit on the priest the whole game with a shield on, spell reflect reflective shield and cram rage down his throat until he's oom. The druid gets to hot+abolish and drink whenever, if the priest spams dispell he just goes oom faster because they won't burn a shielded warrior.

or B: (the rogue's on the druid, shs will never kill a druid until he's oom) and the priest dies faster cuz the warrior has a 2h out, at which point the prest freeks out and the rogue gets back on the warrior and you proceed to A. Rogue is amazing/resists everything and by some mericle the druid gets in trouble? Int, ham, disarm, drink and continue.

If the rogue is mutilate, do A but just cc/kite him all day (rank 1's + roots + subtlety = priest oom)

As a side note the very worst thing that could happen is the druid getting feared...which doesn't really matter if he has hots up and the warrior is on the priest(no mana burns)...the druid should never ever get saped, innervene after fears/blind (or innervene the blind as the rogue obviously leaves the warrior and runs halfway across the map to blind the druid)

Additionally if the priest ever gets a mana burn off (lucky him) the druid should be able to drink no problem or if the rogue is on him just run away and innervate+spirit changeout, you will always win the mana war.

Another fun thing is to spell reflect during abolish/hots if the warrior ever gets low.

My heart goes out to all the priest rogues, but we never ever lose to this combo, its free points. Simply put, warrrior shields, sits on the priest, and their only hope of winning (burning the warrior) will never happen. Hope that helps =D

Not too bad of a fight, but u will need good communication, i find that the only way u can lose to this is if the priest gets too many mana burns, we put warr on priest to prevent this from happening, and rogue will either be on me (my warr will be doing more 2 the priest than the rogue to me). I find thats its even easier if the priest is a "half-dps" spec, he will be spending all his time dpsing ur warr down and ur warr can kill the priest much faster than usual. If the priest is a dps, just make sure 2 save ur trinket on a blind, if u trinket a KS ur warr is gonna be in big trouble if they get the sap off after blind. Also, watch out for the gouge + fear, druid needs 2 call this out and warr needs 2 intercept priest.

absolutely no reason Druid/warrior should lose this comp. Keep hamstring on both targets and kill the priest if the rogue is on ur druid (throw up hamstring/disarm when needed) and just pound the rogue if hes on you (cyclone rogue/priest when he pops evasion to get heals, not a hard comp at all. By any chance the druid gets fear'd and the priest is going in for the mana burn just intercept/pummel and if they do get a lucky CC chain on your druid intervene eat the blind after the fear. You will ALWAYS out mana this team especially if you intimidating shout the shadowfiend

This guide is vastly out of date (atleast for nightfall)

i just did 12 arena's 10 of them were different mutt/dpriest teams. Now as a druid it is near impossible to keep a warrior up with dispel spam, 5 wounds, any stun on warrior means the priest dps'... I honestly cannot see a way to beat them, especially on blade's edge: the priest goes to the ramp on the bridge, and rogue just los' every cc, can't kill the mutt rogue because of the priest free to dps/burn... someone better find a solid strat for blade's edge
