| I have a question about this setup.... I play a night elf druid resto 8/11/42 and my partner is a NE rogue whos 20/0/41 We went up against the combo 3 times... the first one we won and we were like... wow that was an ez team following the strat above. we got them the next two times and got OWNED. the first time they went after me (the druid) but the second time on the rogue, it caused a lot of problems. I was getting poly spammed which i laughed at because i was in bear, but it caused delay when i popped out, the problem we had was me getting counterspelled on my cylcones. can you post a strat ::: IF THE BURST ROGUE or something? we lost 31 points :-| it sucked. well actually just 16 cuase we beat em once. but if we had won all 3, we would of been happy. This is the one combo we cant beat... its killing me haha THANKS so much and great strat if they go after druid :-) | |

| This makeup ruins my team as well the goal i try to go for is to sap the rogue go on the mage Asap then if the rogue trinkets blind him then vanish and sap him then the druid Puts hots on the rogue and begins dpsing the mage with the rogue only problem might be that the DR from cyclones might be up on the rogue i suggest cycloning the mage when you blind the rogue keep an eye on the sap and cyclone the rogue right after problems to keep in mind if they find you first know that your druid will be silenced when he or the rogue is of low health so be ready to blind the opposing rogue shadowstep the mage and kick or gouge him or if you have no bleeds vanish and pvp trinket is a plus | |

| Mage/Rogue is actually very easy to beat. Rogue jumps Mage with garrot, Rogue makes sure to kick, or CloS first sheep while Druid CCs Rogue. Druid then goes bear to feral charge/bash sheeps, if Mage blinks you Cyclone Mage till your Rogue gets back on the Mage. Given their Rogue can do a lot to stop this, but it's very hard for them to recover when the Mage is at 30%, or less when he gets his first sheep off. | |

| Just have you rogue kill their rogue, there is no way you can lose this. | |

| As a druid i always found it optimal to dps the rogue and mage with moonfire and insect swarm while they try kill me (druid) | |

| ya i agree with clinutin, going on the mage and waiting through 2 iceblocks and frost nova'd x amount of times i end dieing from rogue stun locks, sit on the rogue, cc mage gg! i definately disagree with sitting on the mage the whole game.. | |

| The team is definetely NOT your counter comp. Make your druid start in bear and hug the pillar, if played correctly you can manage to sap the mage before he charge in, he will trinket it so blind straight away. Then switch on rogue, put garote+rupture and evasion tank, closing/vanishing/feral charge possible polymorph. Make your druid run around pillar — that screw rogue+mage big time, since mage cant dps at all, rogue will die pretty fast too though. | |

| I used to have a hard time as well with rogue mage when I would get on the mage. I beleive that trying to kill him through iceblocks and etc is stupid. Eventually he will sheep you, because you will have to Clos or trinket something so that he doesnt. At that point you get blind/sapped and your druid dies. I usually have my druid come out in oomkin form and he starts by a pillar where he can LOS the mage. He will just throw swarm/moonfire/wrath on the mage. Any druid with a damn knows that there is no way a mage can solo him. As soon as the rogue comes out "because he eventually has too, a mage cannot solo a good druid he will eventually die" You jump right on him, garrote, 5pt rupture and pop evasion and just stay on his ass. If the mage trys to sheep you, Clos the cast, vanish out of another one, make him waste all his time trying to cast sheeps on you. The druid should be assisting you by cycloning the mage and dpsing the rogue. Your physical dots prevent him from vanishing and running away. Just mow him down. | |

| My 2 cents are similar to what Lieto said above. Have your drood pillar hump and LoS the Mage as much as possible. Make sure your rogue does not allow himself to get poly'd and you should see the mage down in no time. A good mage will kite the rogue with novas and that, but a better druid knows when to pop out from behind the pillar and charge/bash the mage to keep him close to your rogue. Sword spec rogues can be a pain against this set-up, seems as though they always put out the most dps with that extra attack proc. All-in-All though, if the druid does not allow himself to be nuked by both rogue and mage at the same time (LoS is your friend), you will win. Should they go for your rogue, CC thier's and out heal the mages DPS until he's dead. | |

| With this combo is who will start 1st to nuke the other. Rogue sprints and starts nuking the mage start with Garrote-->Rupture-->Vanish-->Premeditation+Cheap Shot-->Kidney Shot the mage cant to anything.Dont use Shadowstep on start just sprint behind him, so if he blind get him. If mage iceblock just go vanish and w8. If the Rogue starts nuking u and he will, just trinket but w8 for his Kidney Shot and blind him after that is up to the druid to cyclon him till u nuke the Mage. Druid should put FF on the rogue so he cant stealth and root and cyclone whole the time. So if u see mage and no1 else in arena sprint and start nukeing the mage coz the rogue is comming to find u and when u start to nuke the mage he will come back. Use this macro for the premeditation + cheap shot: /cast [stealth] Premeditation /cast [stealth] Ambush Good Luck | |

| I haven't had too much trouble with this team as of late. I used to play this comp in my 2v2 so I know what can really cripple this team. This part is key, a really good frost mage will never allow the rogue to do anything when the mage is the target. If I see a frost mage my druid already knows to stay next to a pillar in bear form and wait. I will stay at a safe distance to avoid being detected. When they open on my druid I will line of sight or cloak polymorph while I beast the rogue. The key thing is to keep the rogue off of the druid which means throw as many stuns as you can. The druids only job is to put hots on BOTH of us in case they decide to refocus until I drop the opposing rogue. Usually by the time my stuns are done the opposing rogue is at 1/4 health with ruptures on him so all I have to do is avoid getting cc'd till he's dead. If I get poly'd before I finish off the rogue I will wait it out. The only time I trinket is if I get blinded or if I know his blind is on cooldown then I'll trinket a polymorph. The druid can run around the pillar till ur out of all the cc's. The mage is the only person the druid must avoid. Bear form tanks nicely on a rogue. If they decide to open on the druid or find you and focus you, then ur druid has to throw hots immediately, line of sight the opposing rogue if possible and cyclone spam the mage. Take advantage of the fact that the mage can't shatter u effectively without frostbolt so be ready to feral charge. Once the opposing rogue finished stunlocking ur rogue make sure to keep a faerie fire on the opposing rogue at all times and then its ur turn to stunlock. It would be wise to vanish before u start seeing as how they will almost always have evasion up once u get out of stunlock. So vanish and cheap shot and stay behind the rogue. Druid needs to be ready the entire time to trinket blind and ur home free. Line of sight is ur friend if you are the focus target. My druid and I have mastered this and have not had a problem with this team. Have fun. | |

| Just to add to my last entry, if you do get sapped as a rogue off the bat. Your chances of winning on a good team are completely dependent on how good ur druid is and a little bit of luck so avoid it like the plague. If they decide to wait for the stealth icon have ur druid get it and faerie fire the rogue asap and go back to the pillar. If he blows cloak of shadows and vanish that's 2 less cooldowns you have to worry about. If the rogue is smart and hides behind a pillar guarded by the mage then simply advise the rogue of his position and try to get a sap on the mage and open on the rogue. If you successfully open their rogue they have no chance of winning. | |

| my druid partner and i are not amazing, but whenever we get a mage/rogue combo, we're happy, as we have never lost against one. In the cases where I get sapped first, i wait out the sap, then just stealth, shadstep, and garrote the mage At this point, the mage will either attempt to sheep me, or the rogue will blind me, and I will then trinket out, and stay on the mage. If the mage ice blocks with the pet out, I then go on the pet, and usually can down the pet before the mage un-ices. Then i stay on the mage until the mage is down The whole time, my druid partner is just running around in cheetah, avoiding the rogue and staying up. If i get cc'd while on the mage after i use my trinket, the druid moonfires the mage to make sure he doesnt invis, and then keeps running from the rogue. All in all, this is a very easy team if played correctly, and should be a win almost every, if not every, time. | |

| This team is very easy to beat, especially on an arena like Nagrand or BE. Stick together, keep the Mage CC'd or just play the line of sight game, and burn down the Rogue. For a Druid in this fight doing damage will probably be more important than healing your partner. The Mage shouldn't really be doing damage to your Rogue since he should be struggling just to get a Polymorph to stick, so your Rogue should be fine. Take down their Rogue, even if yours dies in the process, because any (IS build) Resto Druid should be able to solo a Frost Mage without much trouble. | |

| This team you have to react to their strategy. If they are on your rogue (it's 100% easier if they end up targeting your rogue if you expect the burst) then he needs to be on the mage. If they are on you (most of the time they will be), your rogue needs to be on their rogue stunning him off of you. All you need to do is attrition damage to them and survive. If you outlast their burst for the first minute or two of the game you can usually take them down. I've found it helpful for your rogue to open up immediately on their mage and do a 1v1. Unless your rogue sucks, he should be able to 1v1 a mage. Eventually, if you hide well enough and don't get seen, the rogue will have to open up on your rogue. At this point heal your rogue up and pillar hump so that the rogue can't get LOS to shadowstep you while your rogue deals more attrition damage to them and eventually gains a kill. We've never really had trouble with Mage/Rogue. They've gotten a few quick kills on me (druid) before when I get broken out in a bad position or we just don't play as well as we should have, but it is definetly not our countercomp, we have a 75-85% win ratio against these teams. | |

| Jul 28, 2008 - 4:48 AM (HideShow) | |
| lol we have 0 issues against mage/rogue.. its actually probobly the easiest combo for us to beat, i simply start on the mage and play it smart.. as long as crippling poison is up you win, save shadowstep and a kidneyshot for his blink.. simply spam shiv when he ice blocks.. save your trinket for blind.. a druid has np healing through a rogue for a minute, havent lost to this combo yet + pillar humping = op :] | |

| We farm this team by myself going on the mage | |

| My resto drood and i have a specific way of dealing with this setup. I always go for the rogue. We CC the mage with sap/cyclone of the start and i latch myself onto the rogue with stunlocks, crip and bleed. Eating away at the bastard. Now of course im sure your all thinking, beyond my trinket on poly, i can get blinded and sapped The thing is, my druid is provoking them to come after him, and he's already ran a mile out leaving the mage and rogue to catch up onto him. Not only that, but im going to CoS any sheeps coming onto me and even vanish them before they land. The only thing i really have to worry about is blind, and if i ever do get sheep+blinded, it's not difficult for my drood partner to back of. It's a matter of very good co-ordination. A very intresting thing iv'e noticed is that, upon opening on the rogue and getting a kidney in there, most tend to trinket of the bat. BIIIG mistake, especially when iv'e -not- yet stuck a bleed on them! Blind and sap the bastard, and if the mage hasn't realised his rogue partner is in trouble the game is set- Garrote followed by a 5 cp kidney and a barrage of hemo + rupture + mongoose procs is going to bring him down. Your druid should be very mobile. Also, if the mage and rogue decide to go for the rogue, then it's really not a difficult fight provided druid heals well and you make good use of your cd's. | |
| Aug 27, 2008 - 7:02 AM (HideShow) | |
| If there's one more thing i'd like to add, never ever underestimate this teams ability to shatter when there dpsing together, even if they are on there last leg of hp, ie 10%. They have enough dps to turn the match around within a single moment. | |
| Sep 2, 2008 - 7:19 AM (HideShow) | |
| As a BE rogue ill always try to sap the mage first, then when i find the rogue i try to nuke him down. After my stunns are out on the rogue i evasion so i get a 25% to get missed by his blind, CoS so i dont get sheeped--->if the mage is near me i use my Arcane Torrent so mage get silence. And by that time roguue will be dead. Then just nuke that lill mage ;)= free rating | |
| Sep 7, 2008 - 4:14 AM (HideShow) | |
| im play with Resto druid /8/12/42/ and when we meet this combo we often go for a nuke on rogue!.. and CC mage and its works everytime.. i dont think we loos anyfight against that combo:) So try w8 for dimons and sap mage and druid go bear form and track rogue and rogue go all he can on rogue and druid CC mage and help kill rogue.. but the CC on mage need to be perfecte so he dont sheep but rogue need to be preaperd with cloke of shadows and trinket fast caus he can NOT loos the rogue then you got problems:P to like this and you win! easy fgith:)) | |
| Oct 16, 2008 - 4:31 PM (HideShow) | |
| guys ... why do u all go for the mage ? if he s pro he can be a hardass.. and u will looseee very very fast letting the rogue to stunlock your druid.... just look for the rogue at start.. if u dont find it till true sight apears .. your dru comes out in bear form ... wait the other rogue to atack dru ... than shs cheap/rupture/vanish ...same time druid cyclones the mage... than u start a stunlock on the rog ... keep and eye on mage and cloack at 1st poly cast(during the time u fight the rogue)... at second cast just vanish and garotte rog ... if rog is not dead u afford ignoring another poly cast with your blind... and i guarantee u mage will just get nuts polying u .... during the time his stresed by druid too ... U have to get the control in this matchup .. dont let them lead the fight... ( try it and give me and oppinion pls ) | |

| Umm, well I haven't played a lot, 3.0 infact I just started again today but pre-3.0 I played with a druid friend and we got to 1946 -.-.. and fought shaman warrior 3 times and punces to 1902 and stopped and got duelist, but anyway long story short so you people don't think I'm an iddiot who doesn't know what she's talking about and wow I do ramble on a lot, but anywho. This team is very easy to beat, I've played Mage/Rogue and Druid/Rogue and when I played Mage/Rogue it really was hard to beat a good druid/rogue! And as druid/rogue it's fairly easy, although the strategy we used pre-3.0 was this, he opened in bear form and forced the rogue to open on him, as soon as the rogue opened I would CS + KS rotation and peel the rogue off of my druid, giving my druid plenty of time to heal up and start LoSing, my druid keeps a faerie fire on the rogue and I keep a bleed up just in case he vanishes. If they switch to me I cloak as soon as I can to avoid shatter! Oh and I did this every time I would get near the mage, I would shiv mindnumbing on the mage. But this team is fairly easy imo, just stick to the rogue making the core lock-down of this team useless. But thats my opinion. | |
