Druid/Hunter

VS.

Shaman/Warrior

Strengths:
  • 50% Healing Debuff
  • Great Burst Damage with Shaman DPS + Windfury.
  • Axe Specialization = Lots of Crit (Rare)
  • Sword Specialzation = Extra Attacks (More Common)
  • Mace Specialization = Stuns off of Attacks (Prominent)
  • Earthshock
  • Water Shield means the Shaman is un-drainable
  • Nature's Swiftness
  • Very Fast Heals
  • Can assist on doing heavy burst damage on you by purging your heal over time spells off.
  • Grounding totem to stop CC's
Weaknesses:
  • Easy to CC
  • Can coordinate kill shot's with CC
  • Can kite really easily
Who to keep pet on:
Warrior

The strategy to this is very simple. We lost 1 game to the top Shaman/Warrior team on BG9 and then won 4 games in a row after with ease and have gone undefeated to Shaman/Warrior since. They rely on heavy burst damage, Fear, Earthshock, Heroism, Grounding Totem, etc. to kill an opponent. Shamans get locked down so easily they are required to kill someone fast. Their burst is really predictable, usually when someone is in a stun, at 50%, you will see Heroism light up, the Shaman will be chain casting Lightning Bolts and the Warrior will pop all of his cooldowns.

Shamans are UNDRAINABLE. Do not even bother attempting to drain a Shaman. As of 2.3 you will be wasting a lot of time and giving them opportunities to defeat you.

The strategy involves CCing the Shaman with epic coordination, then bursting the Warrior down. Sounds simple right? It's actually really not hard.

(Not finished, will finish it later but since it's not finished I'm linking a video to go with it.)

undrainable? i drain shaman with relative ease... if you can have your hunter dps poison cleansing totem, and bash him when he gets hit by the viper sting, you can oom a shaman fairly quickley.

Strat seems map-dependent. I would go with the CC shaman tactic on Blades edge and Nagrand but the oom and kill the shaman approach on ruins

The strat really isnt that map dependant.. he is right a shaman after 2.3 is nearly undrainable by a hunter.. Whisp if u leave ur pet on the sham he is getting free mana fairly quickly due to water shield and the free recast.. it will take u upwards of 30 min to drain me out using stings. if the shaman is sitting a poison cleanse out in the open for you to smack real fast then he is a fail of a shaman. its all about positioning the totems. i will make u LoS ur druid to get my totems in which case an intervene <if ur pet is on me> happens and OMG we blow you up while ur druid is running to get LoS to CC, which is then grounded and ES'd and then OMG we blew you up. Best bet is to get the warrior low or continually pull him out of my LoS and then CC me out and blow my warrior up.

So basically you are bursting the warrior down to get the shaman to go oom from trying to keep up with the heals.... don't for get about mana tide and destroying it.

we drain and dps the shaman and just cc the hell out of the warrior the whole match. when roots are on dr on war I root the shaman so my hunter can lay into him, and I also use feral charge, wait, bash combos... usually timed with viper stings (make sure psn cleansing totem isntup)

this is the tema i have a lot of problems beating they are almost impossible seeing they nurfed arcane shot on the water shield it dispells 1/3 of the stacked buff. instead of the hole think. i dono wat to do plz xplain. u cant kill a warrior thats killing the hunter and if druid try's to help dps its a big mana loss lol. my pet pritty much keeps shaman for drinking if he tries to otherwise it kills totems. the drain shaman till hees oom while ccing warrior is our only hope but the amount of time that can take now and while there warrior is out of cc they get lots of chances to get luckey crits to end the game with cd's.

I just tried the strat for going for the warrior and CC'ing the shaman and it work awesomely. Started with a pounce on the shaman and kept up cyclones on him and rooted the warrior and by that time the warrior was low so I cycloned the warrior so he couldn't get any heals and burst him down after the cyclone while the shaman was bashed.

Hrm PET ON WARRIOR? makes it easy for him to kill the pet?
LibellaAug 25, 2008 - 10:27 PM (HideShow)
Lots of switching = Win. Druid/Hunter can make sure warrior is always CC. U still keep Silencing and feral charge if the shamans show up for a heal. then u dps shamans, soon enough both target will be 40-50% hp. Then u choose which one to kill and CC the other.

In addition, from playing sham/warrior as well as dru/hunter : The reason u'll lose is if the warrior is able to sit on hunter imo. Which shouldnt happen tbh.

Hippiejoe the shaman/warrior you fought fails, if a shaman cant stop himself from getting cc'd he sucks ass
