Dreamstate Druid/Rogue

VS.

Rogue/Warlock

This Setup is the easiest of all the double damage teams. Like every double DPS team you shouldn't damage a lot in this fight, keep defensive and crowd control (always be aware of counter spells!)

Your Rogue should try to open on the Warlock and stick to him until the end. When the other Rogue gets on your Rogue you should Cyclone him (its best if you're near a pillar). Then you must immediately get behind a pillar and HoT up your Rogue. If the Rogue uses his trinket on the Cyclone you can Blind him. Here are the ways the Rogue/Warlock can react:
  • They stick on your Rogue: It's pretty much in your court. Your HoTs (3x Lifebloom + Rejuvenation) should keep your Rogue up with Evasion and Cloak of Shadows
  • They get on the Druid: Now the pillar is important, you should kite around the pillar just so the Warlock can't DoT you completely. If ONLY the Rogue is on you, all HoTs should be enough to stay alive.

Tips

  • Do NOT get feared, I repeat, DO NOT GET FEARED! If you get Feared you will mostly have to use your Insignias. Otherwise your Rogue will die! If you do have to use your Insignia, that's even worse, they will Blind you, then Vanish/Sap you, Fear you, and then you lose
  • Do not get Feared

I find, that if I get into a position where I can avoid the fear - just trinket it and run behind a pillar - often their rogue will be in a catch-22 situation - he would have to run too far to get in the blind, that his warlock friend would be in series troubble.

I wish not getting feared was easy, espcially on Ruins.

I had some problems with this team, it goes like this:
- I open on Warlock
- Rogue opens on me
- Druids puts HoTs on me (Rogue is dealing a lot of DPS, uses some PvE gear I guess)
- Rogue blinds Druid
- Druids trinkets blind (has to, otherwise I'd die)
- They switch to druid who cannot trinket a kidney shot anymore
- I pressure the Warlock but he can still put his instants on the druid
- Druid dies, Warlock dies, Rogue kills me because DoTs have reduced my life to < 50%

I personally just stay on the rogue hard, I don't use any high end PVE gear except for 2 badge pieces and 1 rep reward, and I can get most 5/5 veng rogues to near dead in 1 stunlock.

Very important that at first the druid puts no DoTs on the rogue, that way if he trinkets KS, you can blind him instantly, then cloak/vanish.

I've found they will stick to my rogue and blind me. I instantly trinket and they instantly change. The trick to this is to keep ff on the rogue at all times after every cloak and to pre hot yourself after you trinket blind. In most cases they will switch to the druid once he trinkets. If you have abolish and hots on you for the switch you can easily get out of the los of the lock and contiune tanking the rogue. It's also a good idea to have your rogue blind theirs when they switch to buy some time.

Personally I like opening on the warlock in cat form, immediately switch to boomkin and start DPSing him. Make sure your health stays topped off. Generally their rogue will open on you eventually, have your rogue open on theirs. Either their rogue eats cheapshot -> kidney shot and is near dead or he trinkets it and gets blinded -> sapped.

Question: Fear is easily avoidable so long as you have something to LOS with. However, say you were fighting on the Blade's Edge Arena map and you start the battle up near the middle of the bridge. What exactly should you use for LOS, the little pillar? cause you could but the problem I see with that is that if they switch to the druid you could los the lock for probably 2-3 seconds but after that the lock will be back in LOS and the druid will probably be stunlocked by the rogue leaving the lock free to dot him up. Or should you never fight in that area in the first place?

This is such an easy fight, the only possible way u could lose to lock/rogue would be if ur rogue is in a bad position in blades edge, otherwise, if ur druid doesnt know how 2 avoid fears in ruins/nagrand then u shouldnt be doing arena, so if u do get lock/rogue in blades edge just make sure u can heal ur rogue from max range. that simple.
JackalmasteeJul 28, 2008 - 5:25 PM (HideShow)
That makes sense. Providing the rogue was keeping the warlock crippled so that he coulndt get near the druid and even if the lock kept inching closer, the druid could just keep moving away never beihng in range of fear/blind. If you never get feared i agree its nearly impossible to lose to this combo just like Mithos said.

Id say just blind whoever of them trinkets and try to sap after. Then its fairly easy fight. Dont tunnel-vision one of them whole game, most likely they will trinket kidney or they die — use it.

we lost 5 out of 7 games to Human Warlock/HalfPvERogue - they lol see us both just so easy espacially on ruins - Rouge and Warlock open on each other - I have to gameble - stay away and wait till my rogue gets stuned by other - till I arrive he usually allready is at about 40% an kidney - now i can try cyclone which will by a good rogue by vasnished or heal/ff rogue - which results in a shadowsetp onto me with no hots - other options is pop before rogue and prehot myself - now rogue ll open on me the second i heal my rogue so that the warlock can dot me fully and i end at 5% after kidney wears off - trinketing kidney - well just prolongs stuff a bit as then the deathcoil/petsilece comes

We lost 6 games in a row to this make up. Rogue gets on me it's finished. Full stun, as soon as stun is up I get feared. trinket fear, feared again. I die.

Or conversely if my rogue opens, wait for rogue to open, cyclone other rogue, I get coiled, feared, feared, feared, blinded. my rogue dies. Throw in a trinket anywhere in there you want.

how can lock cast fear when your rogue is on him ? just let your rogue rape lock u dont even have to cc just hot yourself(they can switch) and your partner....easy win. if u see that the enemy is lock/rogue your rogue must use sprint and take opener before other rogue takes.
ChdruidSep 25, 2008 - 3:44 PM (HideShow)
i recently met a very hard rogue/lock...and thats becuase the lock had haste with the skull of guldan. if the lock stacks haste it makes this difficult because a rogue might not be rdy to interupt a 1 second fear, so as long as they dont have haste, you should have no problem
