Dreamstate Druid/Rogue

VS.

Paladin/Warrior

This comp is probably the hardest counter to Druid/Rogue. You can't effectively CC the Warrior and you can't burst one target down fast. There are some strategies in this game and even if you do everything right there is very little chance that you will come out with the win.

Your Rogue should Sap the Warrior and get on the Paladin. You MUST play extremely offensively. Your Druid needs to keep on doing damage the entire time. Your goal is to get the Paladin to bubble quickly, without him getting out any heals. When the Warrior gets on your Rogue, just use one Cyclone and then keep on doing damage. If your tactic succeeds and you kill the Warrior(hopefully) your Rogue should Vanish and your Druid should get away. Now you have one minute to kill the Paladin. If you succeed, you have won. If not, you will definitely lose the Mana fight.

Tips

  • Druid starts with Starfire, Moonfire, Insect Swarm , Wrath, Wrath (Cyclone the Warrior if he's on your Rogue).
  • Your Rogue should keep preventing the Paladin from healing.
  • The second time you do the same, but your Druid should use his Bash as a last counter
  • Everything must be timed correctly

Ehm how do you think that the paladin will finish both of you after the 1 minute since warrior died? :SSS
DextonMay 8, 2008 - 4:03 PM (HideShow)
I am abit confused on this fight, if you nuke the pally until he bubbles he is going to heal himself to full while you deal with the warrior and he still has a BOP ready for his warrior if you manage to get him low.

After nuking the pally do you not want to switch to the warrior, then start cycloning the pally and cyclone the warrior as soon as he gets BOP'd? Then interupt the pally heals and finish the warrior off.

The wins we have had against this team normally resulted in hard damage on the warrior at the start, cyclone as soon as he is bopped, interupt the pally then finish off the warrior.

Whatever we do it seems very easy for the pally and warrior just to hamstring the rogue, judge and hammer the druid and nuke him down. Even if the rogue is free to move there doesn't seem to be alot that they can do to prevent the warrior and pally from nuking the druid down.

Ok, I personally Love this combo, i made an account just for this, our whole setup is, I, the rogue, hop on the pally as soon as the warrior charges my druid who is casting spells on the warrior. We then split them apart, by having the druid run toward the opposite end of the arena and me stun locking the pally, and not letting him heal once, also using the seperate weapon shiv macro to put on mind numbing, so while im dealing with the pally, dpsing him down to ~50%, the druid is on the other side of the arena, Cyclone+starfire moonfire insect swarm + entangle+starfire moonfire insect swarm, the point of the whole strategy is to dps both down at the same time, pallies are not good at healing 2 people, just a single person.

this combo is an auto win for my rogue and i when we used to play just dot pally and kick all heals whiile ccing war if u keep enough dmg on the pally he will be to busy trying to heal himself to dispell the war with cyclones acasional roots and evasion+ghostly strike the war should do shit for dmg

"This comp is probably the hardest counter to Druid/Rogue."
Sorry mate. But that is bullshit. I can tell you how the fight will go excactly. The Rogue start going for the paladin. The warrior will be cced to shit. Eventually the paladin will be bubbled. After a while the Druid/Rogue team realizes that it's easy to kill the warrior so they throw 3 cyclones at the paladin, if the warrior is still alive, they will throw 3 cyclones on him and move over to burst the paladin. From this position the Druid/Rogue can choose who to cc and who to kill.

Yeah even though the paladin can cleanse and use blessing of freedom, its just to root warrior once, and instantly apply FF rank 1 and MF rank 1, if paladin cleanses it will not be probable for him to get roots of for at least 4-5 sec, and if he BoF's, just cyclone warrior twice (or blind!) and then the blessing is almost up. Also if paladin isnt BoFing himself, rogue will be able to be on him almost all the time except for intercepts, disarms and macestuns. It's not that hard if you assist rogue on dps, and ccing the warrior. You shouldn't go oom before they do
PiratedJun 13, 2008 - 11:09 PM (HideShow)
in nagrand and blade's edge the druid can just evade the warrior and continually restealth until the paladin blows bubble, at which point they can do whatever...

in ruins, it's a lot harder...a good paladin/war team has the advantage for sure IMO
LexionJun 18, 2008 - 7:02 PM (HideShow)
this is a long fight,

-we started out with sap on the warrior and nuke pali til he bubbles, just keep crippling on warrior even if he dispells, forces the pali to come out and stay on pali when he come out of bubble

=win
PolimorphJun 21, 2008 - 10:29 PM (HideShow)
the paladin always out heals a druid but the druid is better at getting away and drinking then the pally is
PuppydogJun 22, 2008 - 8:45 PM (HideShow)
This is not a counter, you guys should be able to beat this setup almost 9 times out of 10. have your rogue open up on pally don't worry about the sap. have your druid starfire -> moonfire -> wrath -> bugswarm, then CC warr. key to this team is play offensive as possible, once the pally bubbles ( should be within a couple seconds, mabee a minute) then have rogue peel the warrior so druid can get full health, then get back on pally. if he has enough time to BoP, cyclone him. really easy match played 2k+
KomorieJun 24, 2008 - 2:25 PM (HideShow)
what we did most of time was just DPS the warrior Both of us and sometimes dps the pala (mostly my rogue) so he can kick and stun lock while i take the last bit on warrior its so easy to CC the paladin which makes it really easy to kill the warrior
DapJun 24, 2008 - 4:03 PM (HideShow)
I donno what you're talking about here. I play with a not so skilled palaidn irl friend but we still manage to win most of the druid+rogue teams. The trick is for paladin hump the pillar and warrior go for rogue.
Paladin should BoF himself and kite rogue around the pillar while warrior pounding rogue keeping MS and HS up. Drood will have a hard time CCing warrior coz he can also pillar abuse drood (addon Focus Frame will help you a ton). Drood is not gonna run away drink much either if he wants to keep rogue alive.
At the end drood will OOM while pala will hardly loose any mana at all
MithosJul 5, 2008 - 9:51 PM (HideShow)
@ Dap : That`s exactly what happens to us. Everyone who says "druid/rogue" is so much better listen to what dap said... The fight won`t last long. you`re druid will be oom faster -> loose. ( we could talk for ours, but if the paladin team knows how to play they will win.)
VæløxJul 7, 2008 - 12:51 AM (HideShow)
And what will you do if the warrior simply keeps staying on the rogue? The paladin will BoF himself and run away while the warrior mace-stun proccs you to hell and simply keeps harmstring on ya - roots get dispelled ... Even if the druid cyclones the paladin you won´t be able to get a kill on one of them simply cause you will lose the mana fight :-/
This comp is the only one we have troubles against :-/
BaelstromJul 7, 2008 - 11:55 PM (HideShow)
I think a better way to beat warrior / paladin teams is to nuke the warrior, and cyclone him when paladin pops bubble.

Sap the paladin, nuke warrior as hell. warrior is at like 50% when sap is over, and paladin pops bubble on the warrior. Cyclone the warrior, so he gets immune to the heals, cyclone the paladin after bubble is over, and keep dpsing the warrior. If paladin trinkets, blind him(even if it only last for 5secounds) by that time, the warrior should be dead.
SkitisJul 9, 2008 - 2:23 AM (HideShow)
What we do is to keep dots up on both the pally and the warrior, sense the paladin never cant cast anything couse of the rogue, he cant keep em both up and will bubble then its just to cycone the warr 3 times and w8 for the bubble to end. If they dont kill us before this happends, we will usually win.

Ps: in my opinion rogue/rogue (if they get a sap on my rogue) is by far the hardest counter. sense even tho im in moonkin form they will be able to burst me and with 5 woundings on me it will be hard to get my health back up.
LazyhealerJul 11, 2008 - 3:32 AM (HideShow)
K I usually dont talk in wow chats casuse i really hate typeing lol. I started trying this combo yesterday actually and have gone 11-4 so far, mostly cause my gear is all S1, we started at 1600 and are at like 1712 or sumthing. We came across this combo today and they were both gladiator with 4/5 brutal venge weopon/shoulders.

I dont know if we won by luck but we were gonna just blow up warrior and when he got to 20% pally bubbled himself i was slow on cyclone so warrior was full again but we just went on pally and killed him then warrior.
HellstabberJul 12, 2008 - 1:03 PM (HideShow)
This is match is actually fairly easy, nuke on pally and when he bubbles vanish if you can or stealth and have your druid CC the warrior
FoxxoAug 13, 2008 - 6:19 AM (HideShow)
what if the warrior is constantly on me - rogue? pally gets away easy with hamstrings, and i've got the warrior on me the entire time. help please?
FoodfoodzAug 18, 2008 - 2:49 AM (HideShow)
How hard this match is depends almost ENTIRELY on how good the warrior is at peeling. A good pally/warr will los a majority of CC's from the druid, while peeling the rogue off the pally. "Good" warrior/pally teams will make this a hard and VERY LONG match. If they are awful on the other hand, it's pretty easy.
GolijovAug 18, 2008 - 4:50 PM (HideShow)
You don't lose the mana fight with a dreamstate druid. Sorry. A paladin will have very little regen unless they are wearing heavy pve gear, in which case they are much more susceptible to your damage. It's really a very easy win.
CircieAug 21, 2008 - 9:36 PM (HideShow)
A good warrior will just Peel the rogue hardcore with BoF on the paladin. We just decided to stick on the warrior all match and win the mana war. We've only lost when the paladin is a tool and drink bugs, and even then we beat that team 3-1
ÁsheAug 22, 2008 - 7:24 AM (HideShow)
If you have decent gear you can blow up the warrior, DSdruid+rogue nuking the warrior will force the paladin to just simply spam himself oom.

(P.S. Shiv Wound if there's a chance that wound will drop)
GerwulfAug 22, 2008 - 9:43 AM (HideShow)
Me and my rogue find this setup fairly easy. What we do is actually go for the warrior from start. Sap the paladin if we can, then open on the warrior with both of us dpsing. Making it a healing fight will definately win you the mana fight, with me dpsing the warrior together with my rogue, we force the paladin to burn alot more mana then I do. Eventually, their warrior will be forced to go shield+defstance while their pala is low on mana, putting them in a situation where they have zero pressure on us and its just a matter of time before we win.
VerneSep 1, 2008 - 1:26 PM (HideShow)
I play as both holy pala and dreamstate druid in arenas.
I can say one thing. If druid plays REALLY OFFENSIVE, there's a moment you need to come out of pillar and start spam healing or make your warrior down. It's the easiest moment for druid to start his CC rotation. Cyclone x3, bear form stun . Bubble or dead warr.
Sure you can pillar abuse throw a heal and hide again but it really won't be just 1 heal to be casted to heal your warr to full. And here lies the problem; Dreamstate wins if they play well. Resto druid would fail here tho. Not dreamstate.
