Arcane Mage/Discipline Priest

VS.

Druid/Wildcard

Difficulty - 4
Freqency - 3

Against druid teams, they will usually be your kill target. Spam slow on druids to allow your priest to fear him. Once feared, dispel him fully, and cast on him. Right when fear breaks, blanket CS him. Go for the kill before CS breaks. It is very challenging, many of our kills were during the GCD between rejuv and swiftmend after the CS.
Sheep the druid's partner when the druid is feared (They are usually DKs or Warriors).

I'll have to give this a try, What about getting a couple spells off bringing to about 3/4-1/2 health, hitting a SS and the CSing and bombing for the kill?

Interesting. I've played Mage/Priest only a few times; fear seems to break after a small amount of damage, and even dpsing hard with IV and pet up (+priest dps) doesn't always seem to make a big enough dent in the druid.

We tried an alternate strat (for example versus druid/warrior) - chain CC the warrior, spam snares (r1 frostbolt/coc, I'm frost) and manaburn the druid whilst dispel training it to get off the innervate ... it's a lot of chasing and hard work, but seems reliable.

Druid is by far the worst thing to run into. I play as frost and almost never get to cast on a druid. We know we need to kill the druid but its insane! They just stand by an los target and as soon as you target them they run. If i manage to hit or freeze them they just shapeshift out of it. Sometime the most successful strat we have use is to force the druid to heal his dps and try to pull the dps away while my priest manaburns the druid. This is only successful if you manage to get rid of the innervate....man i hate druids.

Me and my priest do something else vs druid and warrior. I cc the war with FN, sheep all the time and give time to my priest to remove all buffs from them. He then runs after the druid and manaburns him as much as possible. If he succeeds in doing that I pop my cd's and finish the warrior. If the druid hides good around the pillars I ask my priest to shield me.Then I pop my cd's start killing war and tell him when to fear the druid. Sometimes it doesn't work from the 1st time and we have to wait 2 min for my cd's to reset because the war uses shield wall but it works just fine at the end. NOTE: I'm arcane

If you do it right, u'll get a druid down pretty quick! Keep attacking him, force him to heal himself with hots all the time, keep the other one sheeped or frozen, until your priest comes in and fears, dispell every hot he got, keep nuking with everything u got, force him to start casting heals, CS it him. 8 sec silence, be sure to deepfreeze at the 7'th second if you are frost. He should be dead by then, if not, redo your cooldowns and deepfreeze again. by the time the DF is done your CS is ready.

Just get the CS in when he is casting and the druid is done for :-)

If you want to save your priests mana, send 2 or 3 attacks at the dps, the druid casts hots and u spellsteal them, gives you HP and saves the priests mana, as a mage you got loooots of mana regen spells, so u should be fine. I pref having the mana gem glyph instead of the evocation glyph, as you are with a healer, u don't really need it if you know how to play together as a team

Going after the druid isn't really a good idea imo... Seeing as he can break slow and any binds, its really hard to keep ihm in the open, if hes skilled atleast. He will be los you the whole time. The way me and my priest do it, is we just give the druid the idea we are after him, he goes to los me, priest kites his partner over the other side of the arena, and we both burn him down before the druid gets back. I've worked it against full prot warriors with 10k more health than me.

Oh yeah, not to mention the druid goes oom extremely fast with mana burns. Even if the druid makes it over to heal his partner, my priest partner mana burns him and he only can get off a few heals, and then when he inervates, priest starts dispelling and i start spell stealing. This is a very easy combo for us most of the time unless the dps hits extremely high.
