Max Rogue Damage vs. DK or Ret Pally

Wondering what i can do to maximize my damage versus a DK or Ret Pally. Not expecting to beat a good ret pally or dk in a duel, but if it gets to the point where a dk or ret pally is low on life and I am dueling them 1v1 in arena, what is an effective strat or rotation? Thanks for your help.

Roll double wound for more armor ignoring-damage, dont waste too much energy during icebound fortitude as he takes 50% less damage, or if its a 1v1 just run away like you would to bubble. It is viable to rupture kite dks around pillars if you have them but you have to be prepared for a long 1v1 in which his shield walls may come back up.

Ret pallies suck to fight 1v1 because of ret aura and eye for an eye which will single-handedly take a third of your hp as a mutilate rogue. Don't kidney until he uses freemdom, unless you're going to follow it up with a vanish/cheapshot. Also try to cloak the hoj which will usually occur within the first 2-3 seconds of him getting out of your stuns assuming you are pumping scary damage into him like you should be.

Great reply. Thank you very much. I was completely unsure as to how dk and retpally abilities worked against rogues and this helped to answer many questions. If anyone else has any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated although Stefz commment helped a great deal.

for me rogues can really mess me up if done right, then just open and start mutilating and eviscerating, and im forced to freedom to get away then bam KS, or they will just vanish after CS->KS so freedom is wasted aswell. in short retpally with no freedom is dead

Both these classes are heavy melee hitters so having evasion and chaining your evasions into dismantles (if prep is up) is the best way to go.

Versus DKs use cloak to clear diseases (my rogue is dwarf so I have an extra disease removal/immunity on top of it).

Attempt to stun DKs early so you can get as much damage in before they get IBF up. After IBF is up I usually put CP into ruptures and kite/vanish when possible.

Versus rets save KS for after they use freedom, you'll absolutely need to save your PvP trinket for a HoJ or you can easily get wrecked inside its duration. If you have vanish up you can bait their freedom by a CS then KS immediately if they freedom out of CS.

Dismantle is definitely key versus both these classes (especially DKs as they usually dont have disarm reduction).
