If your pet gets stuck in one of the pillars in Nagrand, which happens FREQUENTLY, you can do two things, you can dismiss your pet and bring it back, or you can use Eyes of the beast which is instant and you can move him out of the pillar. I'd reccomend using eyes of the beast!!!!

Special thanks to Ullzang of Tichondrius for this tip.

BEST TIP I CAN GIVE
==============
It's really important to avoid getting frustrated, and yelling at your partner, at the end of every loss me and my Druid talk about what we did wrong, what we can do the next time, and how we'll be more on the ball.

Most of the strategies are SIMILAR... With the addition of Cyclone and Roots making melee teams serious jokes. Warrior/Paladin becomes your easiest matchup, and Warrior/Druid loses to Hunter/Druid if played right.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
================================================== =================
I'm not all knowing of 2v2, nor do I think I'm the best hunter in WoW, if you know something that I'm leaving out FREAKING TELL ME! The last time I made this guide I learned a lot from little tips and tricks that other hunters left in replies. Most of this guide is me editing the old one to what me and Chandlereeve would do against these combo's, except for the few combo's of the 20+ minute games I've fraps'd and played in the 2000+ rating.

Negative criticism for a guide I'm making to help people in Arena is not needed. What I need is IDEAS, thoughts, TIPS, as many as you can leave, I've only played a grand total of 40 games w/ Hunter/Druid and we're 2100. We still have problems against Warlock/Druid (But I think they're easily beatable I just am missing something, gotta test out a few idea's.)

So do the hunter community a favor, and leave advice, tips, your own video's. This guide will constantly evolve as me and Chandlereeve learn new tips and tricks.

MODS / KEYBINDS I USE + Screenshot

Seriously though guys, you know what me and my priest use for movement keys?

EDSF

Why? Gives us WAY more buttons around my movement keys to bind, my fingers rest correctly on the keyboard the way we learned how to type in keyboarding, I never lose my bearing on the keyboard because I know my pointer finger rests on the F button.

I use 1-5 normally then bind the rest of my keys around my movement keys listed below.

Here's a tip for people starting off with keybinds. Start off keybinding 3 of your favorite spells, play around with it for a day, next day add one more spell, then the next day at another spell, then the day after that add another spell, in less than a month you'll have everything important keybound and you'll be tearing it up.

I have zxcvbaghqwt as well as SHIFT+(Letter)

These are the mods I use:
Arena Live Frames
Arena Master
Bartender3
Baud Mount
Cartographer
ColaLight
cyCircled
DamageMeters
DoTimer
eCastingBar
Improved Error Frame
Inflight
ItemRack
JIM's Cooldown Pulse (This is the mod I use to flash my cooldowns when they are available.)
MobHealth
Omen
Perl Unit Frames
Zanzer's Hunter Mod

This is a screenshot of what my UI looks like:

I try to keep it as clutter free as possible.

Warlock/Holy Priest Combo
---------------------------------------
http://files.filefront.com/HunterDru.../fileinfo.html

Warlock/Shadowpriest Combo
---------------------------------------------
Find a pillar, on blades edge hug the pillar below, Lordaeron dance around the tomb, Nagrand hug one of the four pillars and let them come to you, they are the burst DPS class of course they will.

Use aspect of the hawk. Put down either a snake trap or a frost trap, I usually use a frost trap so me and my Druid can kite around the pole dodging their burst dps. Coordinate Cyclone, Silences, Scatters accordingly to stop fears/damage on yourself or your partner.

Keep VIPER STING ON THE PRIEST AT ALL TIMES. Every 15 seconds reapply it on the priest, keep kiting around the pole doing minimal damage until the Shadow Priest is drained, when he is, then you don't have to worry about LOS and just DPS the shadow priest down while you keep scatters and silences on the Warlock.

http://files.filefront.com/HunterDru.../fileinfo.html
http://files.filefront.com/HunterDru.../fileinfo.html

Warlock/Rogue Combo
---------------------------------------------
This is a hard combo for hunter druid. Most times they are going to catch you offguard, but if you KNOW the team your fighting is Warlock/Rogue, your druid needs to throw full hots on yourself and himself as soon as possible screw stealth pounce, and keep abolish poison on himself and you so he doesn't get blinded (Until 2.3), and keep heals up through the immense DPS, in the video's it doesn't show this because we didn't even know it was warlock/rogue until it started, thank god these guys were only 2100 rated. The 2300 ones have been giving us serious fights.

Go for the rogue first, you need to try and shut out his DPS by keeping him slowed, I'd recommend using frost trap, and kiting him as best you can and hope the hots ticking on you can heal you through the DPS, keep silencing shot on the warlock when you can and scatter the rogue if he gets in your face.

Try to outlive the rogues cooldowns, because those are pretty much whats going to kill you, the abolish poison and full hots in the beginning is going to be the game decider against this combo, so if you get ambushed by one of these, and you recognize the warlock in the future, plan accordingly because this is a nasty fight.

http://files.filefront.com/HunterDru.../fileinfo.html
http://files.filefront.com/HunterDru.../fileinfo.html

Priest/Hunter Combo
---------------------------------------------
This combo is pretty a bad joke for Hunter/Druid, keep viper on the priest, scatter, cyclone, root, deadzone the hunter as much as possible, finish off the priest then kill the hunter, not much else, make sure your druid is chain casting abolish poison.

Warrior/Priest Combo
---------------------------------------------
Easy, just don't let your pet die, don't get mana burned, keep the warrior cc'd as much as possible via roots, cyclone and scatter, I recommend using frost trap for this fight because priests can dispel Freeze so easily. Wear the priest down, this combo is actually easier than Hunter/Priest because of how easily you can take the warrior out of the game with Roots.

Warlock/Paladin Combo
---------------------------------------------
Pretty easy fight but can take 20 minutes most of the time. Why? Because against any good warlock/paladin team your going to have to drink, a LOT. The warlock is going to cast mana drain on you as much as possible to limit your DPS, when he does this CC him via one of you and your druid's CC's, run away and get ticks off, drinking as much as possible is insane, even for a tick or two, your druid will have to drink a lot himself so wingclip the warlocks pet so he can travel form away and get out of combat, but keep casting viper sting, drinking, and CCing the warlock as much as possible.

The Warlock will fear, dot, fear, drain, fear, deathcoil, etc. Watch the fears, your going to eat some, you can't avoid it, just pick and choose the fears your going to have to take.

Holy Priest / Shadow Priest Combo
---------------------------------------------
Aside from the fact that this is a bad combo, you will see it in the lower brackets, but it has the potential to really hurt if they mana burn you right off the bat, but you don't have to worry about this combo, it should always be easy. Just drain the Shadow Priest, then drain the Holy Priest, after the Shadow Priest is drained start working on the Holy Priest and have your druid keep the Spriest in combat at all times so he doesn't drink.

Rogue / Priest Combo
------------------------------------------
Fairly common combo, probably slightly easier to beat than Hunter/Priest. Drain the priest, keep your pet on him, use frost traps or snake traps on the rogue, abolish poison to remove his weapon procs (Crip/Wound poisons), keep the rogue cycloned, rooted and slowed, after his cooldowns are used it's just a simple matter of time until the priest dies.

http://files.filefront.com/HunterDru.../fileinfo.html
http://files.filefront.com/HunterDru.../fileinfo.html
http://files.filefront.com/HunterDru.../fileinfo.html (Different from other)

Shaman / Rogue Combo
--------------------------------------------
This is like the easier version of Druid / Rogue, just take out totems as quick as possible, keep the rogue CC'd and kited, if poison cleansing totem is down cast viper sting then follow with silencing shot before he gets a totem down.

Abolish poison removes all crippling and wound poisons so this fight should be really easy if you coordinate Cyclone + Freeze Trap + roots with your druid.

http://files.filefront.com/HunterDru.../fileinfo.html
http://files.filefront.com/HunterDru.../fileinfo.html

Holy Priest(Or Paladin) / Mage Combo
---------------------------------------------
This one is a joke pretty much, no Mage should kill you or your druid with a healer partner instead of DPS. Use viper stings on the healer, your druid and yourself should be controlling the mage as much as possible while you kill the Priest or Paladin.

Shaman / Warlock Combo
---------------------------------------------
Potential to be a very Nasty fight, I honestly haven't come across any in the 2000+ bracket as Hunter/Druid so all I have to go off of is Aknot and Myself.

But, drain the shaman, have you and your druid destroy totems as much as possible, pretty much outlive the heroism, which means LOS fears, stay topped off, run around pillars with frost traps, Cyclone, Root him behind a pillar away from his healer if possible, and you should be fine against this combo, the Warlock will probably drain you so drink as often as you can, your druid should always be helping you do this by CCing. I can see snake trap being very useful against the warlock to keep him from casting, stacking poisons on the shaman so vipers don't always get immediately cleansed.

1 Handers are incredible against Shaman teams because totems will die very quickly if you happen to be in melee range, micro managing your pet to kill totems then getting back on the Shaman. Should be beatable.

http://files.filefront.com/HunterDru.../fileinfo.html

Double Rogues
-----------------------------------------
With your combo, this should be REALLY easy, abolish poison removes all debuffs, pounce, cyclone, lay a frost trap, root one. The melee CC your combo has is better than any other combo in my opinion and you shouldn't have trouble with this one. Just do damage until one dies, doesn't need much explanation .

Resto Druid / Rogue Combo
------------------------------------------
Keep a flare on the ground and a snake trap, when the rogue finally attacks keep him slowed and off your healer, same as the Warlock/Rogue Combo help your priest kite the rogue around by keeping him slowed, predict vanishes.

Keep the rogue slowed, damage him if you can to force the druid to heal. The rogue will pop out to cast HOTS on the rogue, cast viper sting on the druid. Keep your pet on the druid and keep an eye on your pet, the druid will try to root/sleep your pet so he can go drink do not let him get OOC. Your druid should be rooting, cycloning, bashing, while your scattering, and freeze trapping the rogue, after the rogue uses all his cooldowns this should be REALLY easy. All the Rogue has is crippling poison, you have abolish poison, wing clip, freeze trap, etc.

On occasion you will have to wing clip the rogue, Scatter shot him, and drop a freeze trap on him so your druid can get enough range to drink or kite more.

If the rogue wants to kill me first it's obviously slightly harder, but should be fine in combination with everything your partner has.

If you have a deadly throw on you and rogues gaining on you, when it wears off, pop deterrence, feign death, wing clip and run right through him as he approaches you. If deterrence is down, it's crucial you time feign death PERFECTLY as he'll lose his target at a critical moment enabling you to wing clip and gain range.

If you have the problem like I do where the druid is CONSTANTLY up my nuts, spam scare beast, dumb druids think shifting out before it goes off then going back into bear form makes them pro, might be true in 1v1 but man can you OOM a druid fast if you keep spamming scare beast and can bait him into constantly shifting. Rooting the druid while the rogue is cycloned has the same effect. Remember it's like 800 mana everytime they change forms?

http://files.filefront.com/HunterDru.../fileinfo.html (Mislabeled it, sopposed to be RogueDruid.)

Warrior/Paladin
-----------------------
Coordinate Scatter, Hunters Mark + Trap, Hunters Mark + Roots, Cyclone to keep the warrior CC'd at least 50% of the game. Use Viper Stings immediately followed up with Silencing Shots. Possibly one of Hunter/Druid's Easiest matchups. Most Warriors will go for your pet, thats the new guaranteed win for most Warrior/Paladin teams, between mend pet, hots, lifeblooms, swiftmend, even a NS heal, your pet should NOT die. Chandlereeve has kept my pet up for 10 minutes via CC's, and heals against a Warrior's DPS. (There is a video of Warrior / Druid wasting nearly the entire match trying to kill my pet while I ruined his druid.)

For Hunter/Druid this matchup feels like we are the perfect counter to them.

http://files.filefront.com/HunterDru.../fileinfo.html
http://files.filefront.com/HunterDru.../fileinfo.html
http://files.filefront.com/HunterDru.../fileinfo.html

Shaman/Warrior
-----------------------
Almost the same exact fight as above except now they don't have 2 Shields, Blessing of Freedom and is limited to weak totems to remove our poisons and regen mana, just keep the warrior slowed/CC'd and stay up the shaman's rear end until he's dead.

Kill totems, totems, totems. Watch the Vid below

http://files.filefront.com/HunterDru.../fileinfo.html
http://files.filefront.com/HunterDru.../fileinfo.html

Druid/Hunter
---------------------
Man mirror matches suck, but they happen =/.

You know honestly, it'd probably be a shootoff between hunter's, getting cycloned, rooted, drinking, draining each other, and watching your pets to make sure they don't get gibbed.

Because what I'd probably do is have my druid tank your pet and do damage to him in bear form when he can, drag my pet around a corner then 3 shot it with Arcane Auto Multi, and have my druid spend the rest of the match drinking while your healer goes OOM. (My druid always keeps my pet topped off if he's taking damage no matter what.)

If you tried to go for my druid while I'm doing damage to you it'd be the worst mistake you could make, because I'd keep you wing clipped and doing damage to you while all you saw was "Target is not in line of sight" or whatever the message says.

Druid/Warrior
------------------
Man this fight is a huge pain. But you should win, why? Because you have the ability to drink, while their druid doesn't, the warrior is affected way more by entangling roots, you have scare beast, you have freeze trap, scatter shot.

The warrior is going to charge right away, use a freeze trap, he'll trinket, then your druid will Root, Cyclone, while you Scatter + Freeze Trap inbetween.

Most likely the warrior is going to go for your pet, I don't see how it can die with all the different hots your pet will have, keep it up, when your druid needs to drink have a freeze + Scatter ready for that warrior so you can buy your druid some time, when you need to drink do the same, but the key is keeping their druid in combat the entire fight and you'll wear them down.

Druid/Warlock
-------------------
Me and Chandlereeve are working on some different idea's for this, we'll post it when we have a reliable strategy figured out, we have tried a couple different things that work.

From my experience, you will loose against decent Warlock/Rogue (like hankko@ misery EU, scary warlock lmao) if you keep some kind of dot on his rogue and can't time a perfect scatter.

Also Priest+Hunter is just all too easy for this combo. Druid+Hunter got really easy time killing a hunter pet. After that, the game just gets too easy.

You don't need to kill the hunters pet against hunter/priest, just drain the priest and kill him, your druid has abolish poison he's not going OOM before I finish off that priest.

Heh, Crimsonlocks, you are not the only smart-playing hunter, a priest/hunter combo won't let you have a 1vs1 against Priest while Hunter tries to drain undrainable druid, kek.

Killing pet minimizes their damage output and makes the fight trivial. And as Druid/Hunter, thats really easly doable.

Quote:

It dies as fast as the warriors get to generate rage on something and swiftly changes the target to pet + opposing druid does a smart cyclone. It's easy to res pet against Warrior/Druid, tho.

I also belive that without being able to dispel Innervate and hots, hunter just can't do enough damage to force the druid out of bearform for long enough.

I notice that you didn't mention hibernating hunter pets in you vs XX/Hunter combo, which also works quite good in keeping it off together with scare beast.

Any specific reasons for that?

My hunter is still only in blues so don't have that much experience with it yet
