Arena Points Calculator: http://www.arenajunkies.com/points/
The arena points calculator has been updated to automatically fill out your current teams as well as your current points as of our last update. If your current points seem wildly out of date, please post something in site feedback as your character might be inactive, or you have not told us about a transfer/name change.
Hopefully this should make it much more useful for people who are registered at the site. This is just step one of trying to use the data we have on your character to try and improve your visiting experience here. If you have any ideas of other things we can do, please let us know.

Database Troubles
As many of you probably noticed Arena Junkies unexpectedly went down for an extended period of time. Much to our disappointment this was due to our database becoming inexplicably corrupted. While it is unfortunate, we do maintain daily backups of our database so all is not lost.
We have reverted to our most recent, good back up from this morning.
What this means for you:
-If you registered after 2AM on May 22 you will have to re-register.
-All posts made after 2AM on May 22 have been lost.
-All name changes submitted after 2AM on May 22 will need to be resubmitted.
It is truly unfortunate that this has happened and we are very sorry for the inconvenience it has caused. On the plus side, anyone who got infractions or warnings, you get off easy :) Back to Top

[Blizzard] Arena Rating Calculations
Blizzard posted the official explanation of how the arena and personal rating changes should be working since the patch. If you have any feedback on this system, please feel free to add it in our official feedback thread for Blizzard regarding these changes here:
http://www.arenajunk...ead.php?t=22780
There has been some confusion regarding the changes to Arena Team and Personal rating calculations in patch 2.4.2 for those players with 100% participation on their team so we’d like to clarify how the system works now.
The adjustment to a team’s personal rating can vary based on the average personal rating of the other team while team ratings will always adjust based directly on the team rating of the other team. If the average personal rating of the players queuing for a game is more than 150 points below the team’s rating, the team will be queued against an opponent matching or similar to the average personal rating. Adjustments to your personal rating are based on the ratings by which the opposing team was queued.
Example:
This change promotes having teams compete against players who’s ratings statistically match up best against them. In turn this will help provide the most competitive environment possible in the Arena.

Example:
- Team A has a rating of 1550. Team B has a rating of 1750.
- Team A has an average personal rating of 1520 for the members participating in the match. Team B has an average personal rating of 1490 for the members participating in the match.
- Team A wins. Team A’s team rating is adjusted based off of a win over Team B’s team rating of 1750.
- All members of Team A have their personal ratings adjusted based off of a win over Team B’s average personal rating of 1490 but it will be a smaller gain when compared to the rating their team got.
This change promotes having teams compete against players who’s ratings statistically match up best against them. In turn this will help provide the most competitive environment possible in the Arena.
Blizzard Feedback: Week Two
I finished the write up to send on to Blizzard for our first feedback thread. Hopefully it has a chance to make some changes before qualification round two starts, thanks for everyones feedback. I will let you know any sort of official response that we get back from them.
We have started another one to focus on the new matchmaking and personal rating system. If you have any feedback regarding how the system works or how it could be made better, please feel free to focus your comments there and we will pass it along.
In the future, all feedback threads and threads related to blue posts will be tagged with the Blizz icon so they are easy to find. Enjoy. Back to Top

Feature Update: Thread Prefixes
Just a quick feature update for everyone. We have just added Thread Prefixes to many of the forums. Thread prefixes are selected when creating a thread and categorize the post so other people can easily see what a thread is regarding as well as sort and search the forums by Prefix.
An example:
When you go to make a thread in the 2v2 forum, you will now see to the left of the Title input a drop down menu labeled "Prefix." Lets say I'm making a thread about my Druid/Warlock team so I select the prefix [Druid/Warlock] and post as normal. Now when other people are browsing the forums they will see :druid::warlock: before my thread and they can also sort by the Prefix by scrolling to the bottom of a forum under "Display Options" and selecting the Prefix they would like to see displayed. You can also search the forums by Prefix by using the Advanced Search
We think this is going to go a long way to making it easier browse and search the forums. So please use them and help everyone out! We will continue to fine-tune and add to the prefixes as time goes on. As always, if you have any suggestions please let us know by posting in the Site Feedback forum.

[Blizzard] Official Blue Stance on Win Trading
We all know what has been going on with the account bans and gear removal for win trading. We finally have an official blue post about the issue. If you are unfamiliar with what is going on, check it out here: http://www.arenajunk...ead.php?t=21903
Important thing to note is that if you feel you have been wrongly banned, make sure to contact them. There have been reports of it being reversed upon further review. Hopefully, this also means they have done all the bans they are going to do for now, so if you still have your account you are probably safe.

Official Blizzard Quote:
In our continued efforts to support fair gameplay in World of Warcraft and to provide a positive experience for players, we have taken steps to ensure fair and enjoyable competition in the Arena by actioning players who have exploited the Arena system to gain artificial victories to purchase Arena gear. Our support team identified several hundred of the most abusive win traders, and action was taken against those accounts in the form of a 72-hour suspension, as well as removal of all Arena gear purchased in the current season.
We want to emphasize that this action was not taken lightly, and was only done to address the severity of the problem. Win trading goes against the spirit of World of Warcraft and hurts enjoyment of the game for all players who earn their victories by competing in a fair environment.
Blizzard Entertainment has always taken a very firm stance against win trading, and additional in-game updates will be made to limit this abuse in an upcoming patch. Additionally, we will continue to closely monitor the Arena system for any signs of win trading or other abuse.
If you were among the players actioned for win trading, but feel it was done in error, please contact our account administration team at WoWAccountAdmin@blizzard.com.
Thank you for your support and best of luck to you in all of your games in the Arena.

WoW Fan Site Program - Blizzard Feedback Threads
Good news. We were contacted by Nethaera about becoming part of the Blizzard Fan Site program, and it looks like we have been approved. We see this as a great opportunity to start giving very focused feedback to Blizzard about the state of Arena and PvP in hopes of continuing to make the game more enjoyable for us.
The way we are going to try and do it is creating weekly feedback threads focused on a specific topic to pass along to Blizzard. The first one will be focused on the arena tournament and can be found here: http://www.arenajunk...ead.php?t=21326 Back to Top

Technical Difficulties!
Well as many of you probably noticed today the forums were down for a bit. This was an unexpected error resulting from a routine upgrade of our forum software. No data was lost and most everything SHOULD be working as normal now. We are still working on resolving a couple issues.
If you notice anything that seems out of place. Please let us know about it in the Site Feedback section of our forums or by replying to this thread.
On the bright side - the new vBulletin has some pretty cool new features we're going to start playing with!
We apologize for the unexpected downtime. Back to Top
