I believe there are a good amount of players right below the absolute top players who are known by the 2.4k+ players but not by the larger audience, but who can be interesting to watch (playstyle, comp, ...). They state that they are open to new teams, that doesn't mean it will be 8 unknown teams. But 5-6 established teams and 2-3 new ones keeps the amount of tourney players healthy. tmho

You make it sound like unless you are a 5x+ r1 and well known to the entire community, you don't know how to play the game :s
Of course a lot of people wants to see the well known players play, and for good reason, but I think that it is good for the overall participation of arenas if tournaments are not only played within a more or less closed off group, but anyone that performs well and are at the top of the ladder has a chance to participate.

As much as it's a great setiment, i personally wont be watching it w/o high profile / high level players in the tournament.

Anyway, the schedule will be conflicting. I will probably be smoking weed that day, anyway.
