PvP Notes

So elite gear will now entirely be just for show?
Neat.
Now up the RBG requirement on them to 2800 so they're somewhat prestigious.

You can stop with RBGs now because capping only with arena its not a big deal anymore you will get your last piece or maybe two a couple weeks later

But overall all I can say is FINALLY. Holy fuck I hate grinding for gear for 4 months before being able to be competitive in a game that should be purely about strategy & execution, not artificial numbers on a character sheet.
Bye again! This game isn't fun when you don't know anyone else that still plays.

[/quote]Because pve gear lacks any PvP power, I don't think so. It was just better before because there was such a huge ilvl gap, which gave way more main stats(and like +500 stam per piece)
However, this might make PvE gear[i] vastly[/i] better for healers because int was already better than PvP power for them.

Keep in mind that the pve and pvp piece will have equal int, but the pvp piece will give them pvp power for healing too.  So unless we are talking a stupid amount of extra sockets, it shouldn't be an issue.  And Holinka has already responded to a tweet saying that they are keeping an eye on situations like necks with many sockets so it doesn't screw this idea up.

Now back to the time when Resil was not added to the game.PvE and PvP now are the same in rBG, arena and even BG because of 496ilvl cap. It also mean that in next season you dont have  to farm gear anymore because this season ilvl gear are already 496.So there is question like the one the panda in the opening cinematic ask "What are we fighting for?"...

They will probably increase the ilvl next season, but we have what we asked for - equal or almost equal gear for everyone. Still a bit worried about sockets from raid gear. Also rating inflation means catching up rating later will be harder but still doable, while constant play will have its rewards.

Edit: Also means that max level gear for offspecs becomes available once you have 27000 conquest points.

Yes, this is awesome, once you reach 25000 cp (they changed it I think), you can buy full gear for offspec with honor right? NICE

Assuming this is work of the new pvp developer, things are starting to go in the direction most of arena players wanted. Definitely this change is not so black and white, seeing as how some classes / specs like to stack resilience, because they benefit from it more and they don't get that much from pvp power, the healers being the best example of this. What we could possibly see as a result of this change is healers gemming stamina.
People are definitely gonna stack more offensive stats so a major problem is going to be the amount of damage some classes are able to deal during cooldowns. I could see this promoting 3 dps, rmp or any team with lots of stackable cooldowns and CC, because being able to lockdown enemy team for  10+ seconds, makes killing any healer who is not getting peels really easy. Stats obviously have to be tweaked to make this change benefit everyone in the long term.

How I see this will make game experience more enjoyable, is that you can actually survive rather well, compared to current situation, even in questing greens / crafted pvp set, but the downside is going to be dealing damage, since you will barely have any pvp power / main stats without decent gear with sockets. So basicly the problem of getting 1-shotted is getting "fixed" (you will still die fast with low amount oh hp), but you will do even less pressure without gear. Personally I like this approach to improving the quality of life for gearing alts.

And new arenas & battlegrounds are welcome. Still waiting for arena & rbg cap getting equalized.
