WoW News: Encounter Design, PvP Gear, Blizzard Carrers Q&A, and More!
Developer Watercooler: Encounter Tuning by Watcher

Lead encounter designer Ion “Watcher” Hazzikostas sheds some light on an aspect of our design that may unfortunately seem inscrutable or even arbitrary: how and when we make adjustments to our raid encounters once they’re on the live servers.
PvP Gear in 5.2 and Beyond

Change is coming to PvP gear in the relatively near future, and we want to provide a not-so-brief update on the improvements we’re planning, while pulling the curtain aside a bit so you can see the thought processes that motivated the coming changes.
PTR Patch 5.2 Notes – Updated January 17

These notes remain a work in-progress, but we made significant updates last night (and again today) to keep people apprised of our progress on Patch 5.2. New tasty morsels definitely dwell within, so dig in at your delight!
University Relations Live Q&A Next Thursday

For students looking to break into the gaming industry, we’re holding a live chat next Thursday with our University Relations team on our official Blizzard game sites. They’ll be fielding questions from how to build a portfolio, to what it’s like to work at Blizzard, what qualifications we look for, and even how to best approach the internship program (submissions close January 31!).

the whole point of group games is to play every game
in the conclusion that his team were to beat venrukis it could have changed things.
technically he didn't have any reason to continue playing cos it was obvious he was out but no matter what kinda sport anyone watches football (eu) or w/e even if a team in a group is already out they still have to play the games.

I suggested something similar to that to the NAO organisers, I'll quote the message I sent them.
Quote
My suggestion to make the teams take it seriously is to have an entry fee, but one which is given back to the teams IF (and only if) they attend all their scheduled games. It would definitely provide an incentive for teams to show up. As you would be giving the money back to the teams (providing they all show up), trolls wouldn't really have any basis for their accusations. The extra money you get in case any teams don't show up could be added to the prize pool. Because all games are streamed viewers would be able to see that the extra money added to the prize pool corresponds to the money that is not given back to the teams that don't show up.
Couldn't post this on the NAO Invitational Tournament Feedback thread so I thought I would send you a message with my suggestion. This rule might need some adjustments but I do believe it would work.
Anyways just y 2 cents, keep up the good work.
The part about troll accusations was about people accusing organisers of keeping the money (from teams that don't want to continue playing once they have no chance of making it to the next round) for themselves.
Anyways, missed the whole live stream, will watch it tomorrow during the day.

Constant restarts then(had the sound muted, assumed it was ddoses / dcs, I know you can't really fix it but still. It gets frustrating to watch.

Nope was cuz of players not being prepared, for example samx setting up his character 5 minutes before the tournament is about to start resulting in delaying it for 30 minutes and then his team gets ddosed the first game so we almost wasted an hour and later on they suddenly stopped playing without informing us and not responding to us (i know he got his account really late but he had over a week to look for one and he started the day before)
