We have enabled the reputation system in an attempt to help make the best information as easily accessible as possible and weed out players who constantly give bad advice. Here is how it works.

Posted Image - This image should be in the upper right hand side of every post. When you click on it, it should pop open a menu allowing you to rate the post up or down and optionally leave a comment. We will keep an eye on posts that are rated down and users that have many negative posts. On the positive side, we will come up with something to show for users who are extremely helpful and knowledgeable.

We haven't decided yet how we want to display this information because we want to see how well it works first after a few days. If it seems to be helping, we will keep it enabled. Please do not attempt to abuse it, we will take action against anyone who is spam down rating people for no good reason.

Posted Image - This image should also be in the top right corner. By clicking this, it will allow you to report a post for sticky, or for deletion. Please use the report button to let us know if people are being unnecessarily hostile or trolling instead of replying to their baiting. Reported posts are handled very quickly with the appropriate actions taken against the user.

Thanks everyone for helping make the forums a great place. Hopefully utilizing these features will only make it better :)

perhaps you could display it as an experience-type bar on their character screen.

or like the capping indicators in EoTS.. halfway to start and can be pushed either way.

I noticed this, I find it slightly annoying that someone rated me down (I assume) because I started with 8 rating points when I clicked on it, and now it says I have 5 rating points, despite having a lot of detailed helpful posts :p

Is there a way to see what post you were rated down for?  

Offhand I'd assume someone negatively rated me because I suggested that racials were fine and weak ones needed to be boosted.

Which is why it currently is displayed. Given time, theoretically it will balance itself out and we will see if it was helpful or worthless :P

I rarely post anywhere besides the rant room and I looked and I'm at 7 rep points.  I think people are just going through and down ranking people.

They aren't, and if they are, they will be banned. Simple as that. Just because you haven't posted recently doesn't mean your other 346 posts aren't seen.

I can see people throwing around many more -rep then +rep mods.

Regardless of how informative a post may be you will get tons of wow he doesn't agree with me -rep. Or wow that fucker beat me in 3v3 last night
