Battle.net World Championships Semi-Finals

The Round-Robin matches have completely finished! The Double Elimination Semi-Finals will begin soon.

The Top 4 Teams:
  • North America: "Bring It" - Mage Warlock Shaman (9-0)
  • North America: "Team EG" - Shadow Priest Warlock Shaman (7-2)
  • Europe: "Yaspresents" - Mage Warrior Shaman (7-2)
  • Korea: "LG-IM" - Mage Warlock Shaman (6-3)
On Stream 1 the match will be between "Bring It" and "LG-IM". On Stream 2 the match will be between "Team EG" and "Yaspresents".  Winners will fight each other, and losers will go into the loser's bracket. As it is double elimination, each team has a chance to lose once before they are eliminated.

"Bring It" previously beat "LG-IM" 2-0, but the games were ridiculously close.

"Team EG" our second place team actually lost to "Yaspresents" 1-2.

Not been following this entirely, but was there a single team in the championship that didn't have Shaman as a healer?

10/10 healers are Shamans, yes. They simply outshine every other healer by far. Maybe god-comp druids can compete, but probably even there shamans are better. It looks like the best option is again Shaman/Lock + currently strongest other class. Only Yaspresents doesn't play Shaman/Lock out of the top 5 teams.

There were 2 teams with a holy paladin but I think they both swapped?
Doesn't help that the AT was held in S11.

Should just force all of them to play disc priest.

My point was that I don't think we've ever had a situation where 1 healer has shined so much above the rest... ever, at a tournament?

Hasn't there been at least some variation in every other tournament?

Priests for RMP (potentially the first tournament where this comp hasn't even competed), resto druids have shown up quite often and paladin's have always been around in PHDK or TSG.

I don't remember ever seeing 10/10 comps running the same healer...

It's obvious that rshams are the only healer that have the ridiculous number of healing CDs to consistently keep people up through the ridiculous number of burst CDs.

Rshams have far too many throughput/lifesave CDs(SLT,1 min CD NS,HTT,Ascendance) and NG if you count personal survivability.(also, SWG silence/interrupt immunity)

on topic:
I wonder if Azael will go back to affliction if this is a draw since they won't win on overall damage as demo.

Hildegard if you read this can you please ask them to keep the score updated on the stream, it's usually either never up or incorrect.

Virtually every team has a lock as well.  It's like cata in a box.

Honestly, the tourneys held by most of the players have been far better IMO - obviously comp selection was much better (cause they got to pick who they wanted), UI much strong of course, but it also just felt more fun and exciting to the community...

I'm sure the time diff doesn't help.

This tourney really should be titled the Swifty Macro Tourney TBH

Aye.. You may switch race/gear/faction/class as you wish, as long as the players on the team is not replaced.

After a short break....
Please use an appropriate signature; thanks! Use only common abbreviations and acronyms, and then give their definition as soon after their first use as possible. Occasionally, however, an abbreviation or acronym may be so familiar to intended audiences that it may be used without a definition. In fact, some may be more familiar than the full name. http://www.arenajunk...-rules-2272014/
