With the release of every expansion or season, including Mists of Pandaria, we've reset the Junkies User group and tweaked the access requirements to be in line with what actual player ratings were. A Junkie is either a grizzled veteran player that has achieved a Gladiator Title in the past or a player vying for a Gladiator Title in this current season. Throughout the seasons, the rating required for a Gladiator Title has varied a lot: some Battlegroups in season 2 had a cutoff as low as 2050, while seasons 8 and 9 saw cutoffs as high as 2700.

Based on current ladder rankings, we've decided to lower the Junkies rating requirement to 2200. This is intended to reflect current ratings players are achieving on the ladders, and to create a more reasonable expectation for players striving to become a Junkies.

This change should take effect over the next week, so please wait while the user groups update themselves!

I love all the "god this guy is playing fotm and got his 2200 he shouldn't get rights".  How many of you got your glad/2400 as balance, arcane, survival, fury, demo, holy, prot, combat, enhance without playing a gimmick comp?  The majority of posters played something powerful (RLS, TSG, ATC, LSD, etc.) because very few people like being extremely frustrated because their comp can't compete.  Do you think that people like Jahmill playing shatterplay or Braindeadly playing trip deeps last season or Vanguards playing ret/dk/priest or Talbadar playing shadowplay were because those just happened to be the players available?  Or do you maybe think they played something that was powerful to stand a better chance at winning.

How do I get the feeling this will only increase incentive for people to purchase 2.2k boosts...

On a serious note if a votes being had, I would suggest rating being upped to 2.3k. I'm all for more activity on the forums, but theres already at least 10+ boost teams on the EU-Misery ladder at least, all at dead on 2.2k, and the way last season went I have to say it will give us alot more activity on AJ if it remains at 2.2k, but maybe not the activity we'd want.

2300 seems smarter.
2.2k is just where you boost to and stop idk you will get a huge amount of boosted people and well KFC 2.2k campers.
did you even break 2200 yet?... without your ddos team from US?

Says the hunter with the bought Glad head, nice one.

And on topic, 2.3k seems like a better number for obvious reasons already stated.

As much as I want junkie access, I do have to say go for 2250-2300 for junkie access.

2.3 seems like a better req to me, too many boosters/fotm sitters at 2200

I think it should be 2k, imo. I don't think the pool of pvpers is large enough for this need of elitism.

2300 would be more appropriate I think.

Yay!

Also, I totally was 2200+ BEFORE MoP, so don't call me a fotm hunter X.x

Also, I wouldn't be against 2300, not only because I have been 2300+ (with statistics to show it) but because a lot of teams stop at 2200 simply because they got their weapons. Pushing on past 2200 shows that you are trying to grind rating. Also, most carries stop at 2200, no one would really have any reason to get to 2300 if they were being carried.

Basicly this, everyone and their mother will camp at 2200 rating if they are bad and somehow managed to get that high. Pushing it to 2300 would rule out a lot of those people. Or even 2250.

My vote is for 2225 or 2250 for Junkie status, since most carries stop around 2200.

I don't think this is the best change considering the ladders right now.
Yea honestly no rating right now should really give access considering how the game is currently...

2300 is good enough imo. Too much boosters.
