Mists of Pandaria Opening Cinematic Revealed

A couple hours ago Blizzard released the Mists of Pandaria opening cinematic that was presented at gamescon 2012.

Official Blizzard Quote:

You've ended Deathwing's destructive rampage and saved the dragonflights from extinction. Now you must unlock the mysteries of the lost continent and discover the dark secrets of Pandaria's past. Explore ancient kingdoms hidden since before the Sundering, plunder vast treasures from the depths of the forgotten vaults, and rise to defend Pandaria from the shadow of a long buried evil - before it's too late.

We are pleased to present the opening cinematic for Mists of Pandaria as presented at gamescom 2012. Whether you’re Horde or Alliance, there is one question we all must consider: “Why do we fight?”

I liked it, the "comedy" only added to it. I am thinking this could be the best exp yet as blizz realised if they did not do something the subs were just going to cont to decrease. There is always in the back of my mind what cata was like and how they didnt learn tho, which is why i only said could be and not will be.

That's not what he meant..
The scene was supposed to be funny, indicating that the monk was so strong that they stood there with their jaws dropped and even wanting to fight together.

It kinda makes sense to make it somewhat funny. If I remember all these Jackie Chan movies they also always had funny fight scenes so I guess they just tried to copy that.

Yes world of warcraft copying jackie chan fight scenes, just when i thought your posts were starting to get sort of "normal"

Well that was really disappointing.

Normally I really enjoy watching the cinematic for the new expansions.
That was very dull. It all happened in one place and didn't go very far after the fight.

jackie chan, jet li, donnie yen, whatever, most of them have a comedy element. i thought that movie had a chinese martial arts feel to it too

If this expansion removed raid finder and normal modes and actually made people work through difficult heroics and such just to get into raiding then i would be ectstatic.

Apparently my kid doesn't sleep, so I need to attend to her every single minute.  Clearly he knows what he's talking about Hendie, I wouldn't argue with such clear cut logic from the wise sage Kungfucow

I liked it a lot honestly. I'm excited to see what will happen as the MoP story progresses.

Probably because he hasn't seen the new cinematic yet.

In all honesty, I'm a pretty big WoW hater and think it peaked in TBC, but I was really impressed w/ this cinematic.

I expected dogshit and they took a light-hearted angle and left a lot of mystery to the expansion "what is left fighting for".

There is noo way blizzard expected wow to last this long, it is unprecedented (released Nov. 23, 2004) compared to previous video/console/computer games.  They have already pulled all their epic shit (i.e. see Cata and Wotlk cinematics).  This gives an interesting and unique vibe.  Will they listen to their long standing player base?  Will they re-design WoW for a younger target market?  Who knows but most of us will check in to figure out.

Edit:  PS I'm drunk and prob sound a bit gay.

I really liked it. I would be lying if I said blizzard isn't a master of cinematics. Still, the wotlk one was the best cinematic by far.
Expect bias in posts because
Wotlk is the best thing since sliced bread

I don't know about you guys, but i felt like it was trying to portray some type of immature comedy when the human passed the spear to the orc, it was a little depressing.

Definitely not something like TBC/Wotlk but you cant blame the business for trying to appeal to a younger target audience i guess.

Other than that however, it did look incredibly impressive tbh.
There is no storyline on this expansion so they had to make smthing different.
