Today is the day. Arena Junkies is now featuring Guild Wars 2 in addition to World of Warcraft. We took a long time to consider and have seen many games get hyped and fail to deliver, but we strongly believe that this will not be the case with Guild Wars 2. The strong focus on competitive sPvP and tournaments, the growing scene with high caliber players from many different games now starting to play GW2 and the recent beta tests have given us high hopes.

We want to be the melting pot of the MMO PvP scene and we believe our track record with World of Warcraft shows that we can deliver the highest quality and draw in the best players. In other words: we are looking for your videos, builds, tournaments, podcasts, recruitment posts and theorycrafting skills. We are also looking for top notch contributors, be it for regular content or guest blogs, guides and videos.

We start slowly with the forums, but if some places, like the general section gets too crowded, we are ready to expand the structure.

At the moment we do not have the possibility to create something similar to the Junkie status for GW2 as no api data is available from Arena Net. If a chance emerges for us to create a GW2 Junkie status without manually editing posting rights we will do so. The same goes for linking your character and build, we have no data to access at the moment, but as soon as we do we will work on implementing that as well.

We are working on making a sPvP tailored build creator including weapon, utility skills, traits and item options  as well as information on combo fields, boons and conditions with gw2db.com available. Working tooltips for traits, skills and items are already implemented as you can see in this example: Feline Grace
If for some reason the tooltip does not show up - reload the page and it will work.

We are open to suggestions, inputs and news from you. Contact Hildegard if you want us to feature your outstanding content.

And now, please have a look at our newly released Guild Wars 2 forums. If you are registered at any other Curse site your login will work here, too.

We will also feature an AMA session on Saturday, 11th of August here on AJ. More information here

I've got a good number of my arena partners going to GW2 for the tournament pvp.  We've got our team set up and back ups in place as well.  I hope to see you all there!

Edit:  Btw, I don't think many of you haters realize how their goal is to make this game an esport.  If you want to be competitive in MMO PvP then GW2 is where it's at.

AWWWWWWWWWWW yeaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

Can't wait to finally play an MMO where the developers actually WANT the game to become an esport. Also I'm glad that I might be able to get active on AJ again, <3 you guys but WoW just got too boring for me to come around more than once every 6 months or so.
Bye again! This game isn't fun when you don't know anyone else that still plays.

The PvP In GW2 doesn't look anymore balanced then WoW. Atleast in MoP with the rolling nerfs on beta its actually looking better then it did before Cata hit. ^.^

So basically what you are saying is... MoP will fix it? ;)

I'm going to give GW2 a try...but I did the same with SWTOR... and look how that turned out.

Probably doesn't look anymore balanced than in WoW, but it still is more balanced.
People should have learned that "TBC/WotLK/Cata will fix it" never works, game only gets worse every expansion imo.

I think some aspects of MoP PvP look pretty amazing and I will definitely play it, but decisions like not putting pvp power on pvp weapons is something that is hard to understand and will hurt WoW if it's not fixed.

MoP might not or might "fix it" but it doesn't even matter cuz WoW is dead anyway on a e-sport level so GW2 is a logical choice, granted it will get enough support and promotion from ArenaNet - like Riot has done with LoL and put money yearly to keep it going and growing even bigger and coming with competitions/tournaments.

Just based on the betas the game is pretty impressive. I'd say significantly better than WoW, but everyone has their own tastes.

I can't wait to see the thief builds people come up with.

Good choice of you. This opens up the PvP for the game and takes it to another level with a strong community for PvPing before the game is released.

GW2 is fun, and I am happy that AJ is stepping up to accommodate players. Can't play wow forever.

yeah buddy!  coming from playing wow competitively in the past and dealing with its staleness(especially in the high ratings), I'm very excited this is being brought to the table. The betas and stress tests in GW2 have proven to me this games going to have great pvp... EXTREMELY high skillcap! There is another stress test today, AUG 10th 4PM-8PM PST! I would suggest anyone who has pre-ordered to look into it!

So actual skill based instead of gear based = unbalanced in GW2... ok got it.
