Thank you for adding pvp power to pvp weapons Blizzard. This change is huge and will make MoP PvP so much better!

Have a look: Malevolent Gladiator's Greatsword

-----------------------------------------------------------------

With the addon Mists of Pandaria a lot of hope has risen. The new stat PvP Power increases damage and healing done to players. The idea behind this is to make sure that PvP gear is better
for PvP than PvE gear, while also work as solid PvE starting gear. But there is one problem.

PvP weapons do not have PvP Power on them. As PvP gear has a lower ilvl than PvE gear upgraded normal mode weapons have a higher ilvl than PvP Tier 2 weapons. Let's take a closer look at the numbers.

PvP Gear
T1 weapons: ilvl489
T2 weapons: ilvl502

Mogu’shan Vaults
Normal mode: ilvl489
Hard mode: ilvl502

Heart of Fear & Terrace of Endless Springs
Normal mode: ilvl496
Normal mode with upgrades: 503
Hard mode: ilvl509
Hardmode with Upgrades: ilvl 516

Comparision of PvP and PvE weapons in detail

Not all of the numbers are perfectly clear at the moment, for example I could not find upgraded versions of the Mogu'shan Vaults loot. The upgrades are done with Valor points and the latest information I found on MMO Champion suggests that this will cost 300 Valor points for one of three possible upgrades. This information may be outdated, but the ilvls written above can be seen on wowhead and wowdb.

The game starts with the Mogu'Shan Vault raid and the  Heart of Fear as well as Terrace of Endless Springs will be added approximately one month later. Source

Which means four weeks into the season normal mode gear will be on par with T2 pvp weapons, that most players will barely have at that time. It probably will not take too long before a lot of players get their hands on the hardmode ilvl509 pve weapons and upgrade them to ilvl516, which is 14 ilvl and one socket better than the PvP elite ones. In other words - if you plan to play pvp competetively it's probably a good idea to look for a raid that clears hardmodes in a reasonable amount of time.

This problem could easily be solved if Blizzard would decide to put PvP Power on weapons. Of course healing is too high in pvp at the moment and needs some adjustment, but without PvP Power on weapons we will be forced to raid. Most really good weapons drop from the end bosses and these will take more time and wipes than Morchok or Yor'Shaj for sure, especially before the nerfs.

As Blizzard did not respond to this issues for many weeks now, I think it is time to get some attention towards it. Maybe I am wrong, so let me know, what you think.

A game which used to bring me great joy continues to go down hill.

There is absolutely no reason at all to even create pvp power if the weapons aren't of a comparable level.

should suffice quite well
Also
Why isn't there just an option for "I hate raiding. I don't want to have to raid for it." Not everyone who wants to quit wow wants to go play that shitty mmo.
Expect bias in posts because
Wotlk is the best thing since sliced bread

I would have voted for the option of: "Hate raiding, so I'm just boned."

I am no balance expert, which is why I usually talk to a player a lot better than me, before making statements in that regard, but I think with the current state of resilience the problem is not "overpowered pve weapons", but underpowered pvp weapons. If pvp power was on pvp weapons it would make them better (read: more damage/healing) than pve weapons. Which means it's not about the overpowered stuff from previous seasons, but rather weapons that are better than these, which is counteracted by the buffed resilience.

with how much I liked GW2, and the upcoming FIFA game, its gonna take something really special to get me back and spend countless hours leveling and gearing up.

After Cata, I can't trust them to get this shit right anymore.

Time to panic. Apparently the pvp trinkets are best in slot for pve, too. Which means if not everything we experienced over the last years falls to pieces Blizzard will have to nerf them.

So? Let PvErs cap their points for a week or two. Boom, trinket. It pales in comparison to the time PvPers have to invest in order to remain competitive

EDIT: You can even PvE for the valor points. No backpedalling arenas required.

Its always going to be like this...

No one cares about 0.0-1.3% dmg reduction from one piece. If the stats on the pve gear with bring more dmg than the pvp power on the pvp piece (remembering resil and pvpp aren't on an items stat budget) people will use the 1-2 pieces of raiding gear that will bring more deeps to the table.

*edit: on a side note.. why doesn't it show my toon or ratings when I post, they're linked to my account on my profile page?

This pretty much,a trinket like cunning for example who gives a 20%~ damage increase will easily replace a pvp power trinket(let alone if you are human),the same applies to weapons.

I guess though that they have not added pvp power on pvp weapons yet, have they??:/

And yeah they can survive for more than 30 seconds without casting. You have partners in 3v3 you know? SURPRISE

11% seems rather high, but we'll see.

Heh, look at this PvE dagger for rogues and the gem that goes in it:

964 agility dagger...

edit: I can't post URLs, but spiritsever and hydraulic gems.

The dagger's item number is 86910 if you want to just plug that in.

edit 2: and it looks like there are weapons for each class that use hydraulic gems, and each adds +500 of a primary stat

An 11% overall damage increase vs players should easily offset those primary stats.
