Dell-Intel “The Named Season 1: World of Warcraft” presented by GOMTV and sponsored by Dell and Intel will start on Oct.11
Last May and June, “The Named” recorded over 4,000,000 viewers in total; 220,000 viewers for each game during the pre-season. Dell-Intel “The Named Season 1: World of Warcraft” comes back with more exciting match-ups as it will be the last tournament for “The Burning Crusade” due to “The Wrath of the Lich King” being released on Nov.18
Dell-Intel “The Named Season 1: World of Warcraft” is a ro16 full tournament featuring the top two finalist teams from the pre-season, the 2008 World of Warcraft Arena Tournament Korea team and the top 9 teams of each Korean battlegroup.
The first day of the tournament will feature the first placed team of the 2008 World of Warcraft Arena Tournament Korea: “Orange Marmalade” while the humorous and well known player, “Deserteagle” and new teammate, “Hyanggiyojung” will play against “noneunheukma” and “Superspy.” There has been lots of speculation as to how “Deserteagle” will do with “Hyanggiyojung” this season, being that she was the only female player in the pre-season.
Moreover, for day 2 of the tournament, the 2nd and 3rd placed teams of the 2008 World of Warcraft Arena Tournament Korea “Hyoga” and “Chaos Angel” will by playing against each other so you can anticipate some high-quality matches right at the beginning of the season.
This time also, we will have 11 different team combinations in the 3v3 tournament, instead of the common Rogue-Mage-Priest combo we saw in the Pre-season.
This tournament will present not only 1v1 matches but 3v3 team matches as well. Blizzard Entertainment has offered arena servers especially for this tournament only. Sets 1 and 3 will be 1v1 matches while sets 2, 4 and 5 will be 3v3 team matches. Arena rules are the basic rules of this tournament. The winner will receive (approx) $10,000 USD while 2nd place will take home (approx) $5000 USD.
