Hey guys. Thanks for all your research and feedback thus far in helping to determine how to account for inactivity this season. The conclusion is that it appears that in-game rank already has inactivity factored in. This means the lowest teams rank should be the actual number of active teams.

Wickleer put together a great analysis using Ruin as an example: http://www.arenajunk...ead.php?t=45323

Check out the Gladiator Bubble for More discussion on what people have found for their own BGs: http://www.arenajunk...splay.php?f=120

Unfortunately, without a season 3 hall of fame, this is the best information we have to work with. If you think for any reason that your Battlegroup needs to be adjusted, please post it here. If you have any further thoughts on how to improve the accuracy, please post that here as well.

A lot of the research and info in that thread, mainly the front pages are dated and the links that I provided to back up my research has changed since of the armory updates. However other people saw the info that I posted, so it is verified by other people.

And also, most the number crunching I did is just still a theory and could be completely off. But I don't think it will be.

I trust wick's method! He will carry me to Gladiator while I'm on vacation!

So if we manage to get to the lowest team of the BG the data will be 99% correct ?

That is the assumption, but again, who knows after what happened last season.

Hmmmm so the numbers that are shown now (top 166 glad on stormstrike) are still couting inactives or not?

Another way to ask would be : Is the rating of the 166th team on armory, or the rating of the team who has the 166th position shown in-game, the estimated cutoff?

Person with the 166 position in-game, which is calculated with the 'Last Week's' rank, that's the theory at least, it may not be true, but it's backed up by logic and reason with the thread I have done.

Is there a way to check my current in game ranking? It says 144 but that was last week at a terrible 2105. I'm curious what my ingame rank is now, but obviously it doesn't update until tuesday which is too late.

Make a guesstimate by counting the inactive teams in front of you, and give yourself like 30-50% of those teams possiblely being counted since they did play last week (At least on ruin when i did my checks.)

Ok so this is probably a stupid question but I just want to make sure. We're rank 120 on armory, and I counted 29 teams that are definitely inactive. So does this mean we're rank 91?

if ingame ranks exclude inactivity, there should be a difference between the armory rank from the lowest team and the ingame rank. but at the moment the calculator uses the armory rank which should be wrong. so there should be less glads than the calculator shows.

No the calculator uses the in game rank. If you hover over a player's team on their character profile, it gives you the last weeks ranking. And that's what the calculator is based on. Feel free to double check that.

The armory ranks has the a limit on how many teams it can see, up to around 4900 where it counts, while the in game ranking system is hidden in each character profile.

Is there any way you can automatically calculate the exact # of inactive teams within gladiator range so we can know what the exact gladiator cutoff is on the armory right now?

Just to clarify what I mean, with that sort of information you can take a look at the current # of people getting gladiator from a bracket posted in this site's calculator. Then just add the amount of inactive teams in that gladiator range to get a current armory ranking you need for the title.

there is no automatic 100% full proof thing that we have atm that actually gives us dependable results.

If my method holds true, then I can make a perl script to sort out all the for sure inactive teams for both the 1500 teams, last week team rating but no one is on the team thingie and as long as the method I proposed is 100% effective then AJ could give you something like that.
