With 17/0/44 being so popular with mages, and with the talent tree being reset, what is the new path?

I've been gone from the game for over 2 years, and have recently come back to play. That said, I've only been playing again for 6 weeks and have found it hard to catch up, so please provide any/all input to help me understand the new talents and how they tranlate from the previous ones that I've been using. I just want to make sure that I continue down a deef frost path, but want to maximize my efficiency through either or both frost and the arcane tree. I'm not close minded enough to disallow fire, but I was really enjoying the path headed towards 17/0/44

Any and all input would be very appreciated. If you had a link to the new mage talent calulator that shows what you would do if you were new like me, I would be very happy to listen to your advice.
