#3 Beta test just ended, thoughts on it/game so far?

Here is mine.

Questing imo is similar to WoW speed (the 1st time you do it) However the quests can be really vague. In one quest I was told to get Grain, and it didnt say if I was suposed to get it from Mobs or Pick it up from the ground. Turns out I had to get it off the ground, but the nodes to get em from look no different to the background so you can spend years wondering around looking for somthing. Question would be 10x more anoying if there wasnt an in built helper.

The linear questing is anoying, there seemed to be little choice of where to go to quest, unlike on WoW where there is mutiple areas, even if 80% of people go to the same place, atleast you have a choice. However there is alot less time spent travling, which is a huge drag on WoW. "Sup Duskwood"

Gear from questing seem to be acctually good, unlike on WoW where you get a shity stat like spirit on a leather item. Quests that give gear will have 1 piece for each class.

Another cool thing about questing is the Mission quests, which give a pretty decent storyline

Pulling 2+ mobs results usually in instant death and for casters ranged mobs are insanly hard to kill unless you have 100% HP and chain moves ready. However because of this its more fun, as you dont just mash 1 or 2 buttons. Early leveling is alot more bearable due to not going oom in a few casts and acctually having a use for 90% of your spells in each fight. Compared to WoW where a mage goes oom after 2-3 casts.

Flying is fun and well thought out, for the most part, but the controlls are stupid; you need one button to open wings, a seperate to close wings and 2 buttons to pitch up/down. When imo you should have 1 button to open/close wings and use the mouse or WSAD to pitch up/down.

Chain skills are a cool addition and dont feel clunky at all. You auto walk to anything when you press an offencive spell when out of range which is really anoying.

TL;DR

Leveling is more fun than WoW but quest wording fails

Flying is cool but retarded to controll

Mobs hurt alot more than they do on WoW

Gets pretty grindy after level 16.

Im level 16 Asmodian Sorc, so opinions may vary depending on class

Flying controls are the same as flying on a flying mount in WoW but instead of space bar you use R to fly upwards.

No they aint.

When you get into the air they are. you just have to have two extra binds.

Was fun and If they add ways to change the camera, fix some of the quest text, and let you move when talking to npcs will be ace.

I dont really mind it, Mouse button 4 and 5 for mount/dismount work perfectly.

I did notice some problems using multiple mouse buttons and modifiers at the same time. For instance shift+mouse4 wouldn't trigger if I was holding down rightclick to turn (and with my playstyle, rightclick is essentially ALWAYS held down).

When imo you should have 1 button to open/close wings

You CAN bind toggle wings(one button for open/close) to one of your hotkeys, Just grab it off of the last tab(i think that's where it is) on your skill page.
