View Full Version : Gnome vs. Orc
I'm interested to know which racial some of the top rated Warlocks find to be the most useful and effective in all levels of arena, and why you have come to that conclusion. Thanks for the replies.

Stun resist and bloodfrenzy (sorry if it's misspelled) > escape artist imo. Drain life isn't effected by the racial ability, rogues are your biggest enemy, and escape artist won't save you when almost all snares are immediately reapplied.

undead > all.
;)
Gnome is pretty fun, having escape artist really allows me to kite well in arenas. However, some of the hardest teams you will face are rogue/priest teams, and having 20% to resist with gems and enchants, you'll notice a great difference, especially against mace specced people.
TBH horde just have the best PvP racials, UD is great, especially against other warlock teams, Orc is great against rogues/mace warrs, and BE is great to completely lock down a healer. Perception on alliance side is nice, but it's not a winner in matches, and EA is a helper, but it has the chance to fail.

UD > Orc
Gnome > Orc
Not sure about UD vs. Gnome. My lock (UD) almost always uses his trinket to remove a snare (often a stun at the same time) and start a CoEx kite on a melee. I'm sure gnomes usually use theirs on fears. In both cases the racials are in effect having a 2nd trinket, which is far more valuable than a passive resist chance that won't get the rogue or warrior off you anyway.
Actually I think I'd rather have the option to double-trinket crippling or hamstring than to double-trinket fear.
So Gnome > all. Unfortunately since they look and sound like fat, retarded children.
shadowmeld is like.. i dunoo. not that great
...Watch out for those NE locks...

Personally I think EA is the best PvP racial for warlocks, shame the voice and looks drive me nuts before level 10 :P
As you said both are effectively a 2nd trinket, but personally, like you, I'd rather have 2x snare breaks than fear breaks, getting away from a melee and CoEx kiting is match changing, especially in the smaller brackets, on the other hand, breaking one more fear, though certainly useful, generally not quite as handy.
It really depends on your partner in arenas a lot. I say UD is a great one because against druid/lock, I don't like sitting there feared for 30 seconds while the UD becomes immune after a 5 second fear.
Against a melee, of course EA is going to be much better, and the 1 minute cooldown is just insane to have against rogues. Still it's always going to depend on your partner - I roll with a pally, so with having freedom, I don't see EA as much of a buff, although it helps. Obviously a druid/lock are going to want EA much more against a melee team, as they don't have the freedom to kite as well.
