I'm going elemental, how much %spell hit do I need?
Some differents speccs, and why you pick what etc.
And some general tips would be nice.
How to gem and enchant? And why?

spell hit- just what pvp gear gives you and maybe a point or 2 into precision, depending on your spec.
armory me for gear, gems, enchants, and spec
here is the best 5v5 tip-
elemental shaman can do more than spam LB in 5's.
Once you learn that, you get so much better.

Actually Gatoja, can you give some pointers? When you say there is 'more', I assume you are referring to more than totem support? To earthshocks heals? Grounding interrupts on CC? To off-healing? Positioning? Something else?
What would you say a good shaman's role in 2345 is?

Search for Kollektiv on warcraftmovies.com
All the footage you will ever need
for general tips,
Use grounding totem only when you know a spell is incoming and you cant earth shock it, it is no loner useful as a proactive thing (to catch death coil etc), due to all the dots flying around and stuff that constantly kill it (dispels as well).
If you think you'll be dpsing hard on someone in the next 10 seconds, save your shocks, mine crit for about 1.8k on full resil targets, so it can definitely be the difference in a kill or not.
Always make sure of your positioning, try to LoS any polys or fears you can.
Remember, cleanse poison + poison cleansing totem are both your friends! use both!
Grounding totem can be used for many things, such as absorbing freezing traps.
You can also purge many things you wouldnt think you could, such as rapid fire.
Purging can be just as useful as a lightning bolt, as in taking away fort or fel armor or some other important buff.
Water shield is INCREDIBLE! always have it up unless you're killing a rogue/warrior that's on you and you dont need the mana.
Edit: My teams are not what is displayed, i've been back a week and have 1900 3v3 2k 5v5.
If you want anything else specific just ask.

Alright, some specific questions.
1) How often do you expect a good team to need you in a healing capacity? I often find myself offhealing a lot, especially after the first target dies, which in a traditional 2345 lets my teammates live longer, but without my DPS the mage does sometimes run out of mana.
2) Do you save tremor totem for when a fear bomb drops or when someone specifically calls for it to drop so that it pulses immediately, or do you just make sure it's always down at all times?
3) How do you handle positioning? Do you stay near a pillar to LoS fears and CC with the danger of your targets also kiting away, or do you go closer to the middle of action where you are a bigger target?
4) How much purging is enough? Main and secondary target? Everyone? What do you usually do in the first 30 seconds of a game (well, after combat starts)?
5) In a standard 2345/6, what are the normal/expected damage turnouts for your group? I.e. where should I expect to in damage dealt in relation to the warrior and mage/lock?
That's it, for now. Thanks in advance. :)
I can try to answer, even if i dont play a shaman.
1) You will want to offheal if your pally is cced/cs. Or if he simply asks you (maybe he needs a drink)
4) warrior first always (exept is there's not obviously). There is no enough purging. That's the good thing about a shaman, every global cooldown you do something.
5) less than a FG lock and warrior unless you rape them quickly.

2) tremor always up, you can always just replace it when someone is feared so it breaks it anyway.
4) main and secondary target + warrior if that isnt your secondary target.

1. this is really an iffy issue. It depends on the team you are facing to be honest. Here are the times when I heal-
-when things get messy vs 4 dps
-when my paladin calls out that he is CSed and someone is in trouble
-when opposing teams target switch
Now most of the time i dont spam heal, but a lesser healing wave or 2 can definitely get the job done.
2. I usually keep it down and them drop earthbind as an AoE snare and tremor as an AoE fear break
3. I stay in the best possible position to be able to shock my focus target and still be in LoS of the primary and secondary targets.
4. It depends and depending on the situation I will purge, early, mid and even during mop up. Better safe than sorry. Usually, if I am not dpsing a focus target, I am purging (in between shocks and totem juggling which I do regularly).
5. It depends, again. In a perfect world you should be number 3 on dps with a lock and tied for 2 with a mage.
a few tips of things I do-
I am a macro-aholic, even the smallest of things I macro
I have stopcasting macros for tremor totem, grounding totem, earth shock rank 1 and frost shock rank 1
I also have a focus purge macro to go along with earth shock rank 1. Focus targets (paladins and mages) tend to buff themselves with pretty powerful buffs that need to come off. I may not sit there and spam purge them while they are holy light spamming to get it off, but I will atleast try to strip it.
DRINK whenever you can. When I am at 90% I drink, when I am at 50% I drink, does not matter, whenever I can sneak out of combat, I drink. A few ticks of water is all you need.
Be aware of your totems
earthshocking heals is only important if you are going for a kill, otherwise, fears, sheeps, as well as lightning, shadow, and frost bolts should take precedence.
Use frost shock rank one, its a very useful snare, especially if your warrior cant get hamstring on a target for it being on the other side of the arena.
