At what time do you usualy play 5v5 and why?
As far as I can tell the best time to play is thursday and friday nights. Dunno why, but it seems that at that periods our win ratio is highest.

The right time to play for us is whenever we actually can get all 5 of us on. Our pally PvEs Tues, Wednes, Thurs, and late Sunday. =/

Well, noone from my team goes PvE. We can choose whatever time we want to play. But this days we mainly leveling 3v3 teams for sale (each one of us made 15k gold in 3 weeks so far). :P
I marked, that in wensday-friday period the brasket is filled with high rated teams,
and you are not forced to play vs teams, that gives 3 points, takes 27 and are not that easy to beat.
Another thing is - we almost never meet our 3 top teams. When do that 1337 bustards play? In a daytime? Maybe playing in daytime allows them to make so high rating? Have anyone tested? :)

The daytime can be really bad with very few teams playing. We did 3v3 and got 4 games in a row for actual 0 point wins and decided to stop. I'm guessing usually after dinner server time is the best time to catch most teams.

5v5 seems to be the most active from 9pm to around 1am EST from my experience, and fri/sat nights seem like they are bad times to play (for obvious reasons).
I also really wish we could queue more but due to rl stuff we basically haven't been able to play more than 10-15 a week this season and its really hurt our rating/standing :(

It depends on what you want. My 5v5 hates playing after midnight because it seems like we only get 1-2 point teams, but some people like this if they just want to maintain rating for points (and it REALLY sucks when u get a dc, 31 point losses ftl). When we play around 7pm-11pm, that's when we run into the other top 20 teams usually, and it's a lot more exciting :D

You sound just like us. We end up stuck playing late many times for timezone reasons. We do get some good teams though, 10-15 points but if they lose once they generally stop queueing and we end up with 5-10 points for awhile and then 3 points :\.

from my experience primetime usually gives you the best chance of fighting teams with similar ratings as you....as the nights progresses it seems like all the good teams stop queuing and you face nothing but scrubs. Almost every time i've arena'd late at night (past midnight) i've fought pretty much nothing but teams that give me ~5pts when we win. And we all know the problem with that is when you inevitably lose that one random game....you just lost like 30pts and like 2 hours of your life :P
I think playing when top teams play is the best. You don't lose that much if you lose, and gain a lot when you win. Going 5-5 this week with a weakened line up (regular rogue is on vacation) we went up like 40 points. Losing 4-7 points against a top team and gaining 20-30 for a win is rather nice. I basically stop when I get a game where you get 0 points.

This really depends what your rating is. Anything over 2100 you have 2 options. You can play during NOT prime time and make sure you dont lose and get like 1-4 pts a game or you can play during prime time anytime after 8ish on a server and have some good competive games.
We try and play closer to the beginning of the week as a lot of fluke teams from the previous week are still carrying their inflated ratings.

I find monday night is the best night to play. You find a lot of the odd team combos playing then since they tend to put off arena'ing till the last moment. You'll also notice that on monday night even if you completely smash a team, you're more likely to see them again, since they have to get their games in before the restart.
