View Full Version : Sunwell mastered in June with a 19 hour schedule - Looking for rock star PvP talent

Yes we raided 19 maximum hours in a week even while learning Sunwell, and yes Kil'Jaeden was killed in June. As proud as we are of this accomplishment, we are recruiting. If this kind of efficiency intrigues you, read on...

Eternal Reign – Lightbringer server - www.eternalreign.net

Arena Junkies Insert: Since the bulk of this post is copied from MMO-Champion, I wanted to add a section here pertaining to why we are advertising on this forum. Our guild plays on a PvE server, but we have at many times fielded top arena teams. At one point we had 3 teams in the top 8 of 5v5. We've had teams take first place as well, in all 3 brackets. We do unfortunately have a tendency of never quite creating the dream teams we would like. The few of our members who are hard core about PvP tend to be spread among many teams in 2's, 3's, and 5's. Currently season 4 has been rather disappointing, and we would like to add some amazingly talented PvP/PvEers for WotLK. That said, Eternal Reign is first and foremost a raiding guild, and attendance to our raids must always take priority over PvP. Fortunately we are one of the most efficient guilds in the world, and there will be plenty of time for PvP outside of raid hours (read more about that efficiency below). As we all know, key PvE items tend to play a huge role in arenas. If you are hardcore about raiding and PvPing, this may be an excellent opportunity for you. Oh and since it appears to be broadcasted on top of this post... don't read too much into my team ratings, harhar ^_^ My 5's team is hardly active anymore, and my new 2's partner is still gearing up (though he was at one point on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place 5v5's teams on the Rampage battle group... at the same time, that's the kind of talent we have in this guild). I've made gladiator several times on more than 1 character, without trying very hard to be honest, this season really has been kind of zzzzzzz and many of us are waiting anxiously for the 3.0 patch to spice things up, and the expansion. Anyways, just securing my e-peen :p Read on if you are interested in what our guild has to offer...

Bold Section: This first section in bold is time to time guild updates. The bulk of the recruiting information comes after. We just wanted a section up top to let people know what our current status is and where we were at a couple months ago, etc.

***Sunwell UPDATE***
March 26 - Kalecgos down.
March 29 - Brutallus down.
March 31 - Felmyst down.
April 19 - Eredar Twins down.
June 1 - M'uru down.
June 23 - Kil'Jaeden down.
The first 3 bosses in Sunwell took us around 20 hours to get down. The twins were also defeated quickly. M’uru shouldn't have taken so long, but we had some attendance issues on holidays and couldn't really muster up the A-team. Kil'Jaeden was defeated quickly despite more badly timed key people being unable to attend certain days. It was a huge victory for us (1 death, we destroyed him), but we are STILL looking for some fresh A-team talent! (keep reading).

***June 23 - Post Sunwell UPDATE***
Kil'jaeden has been defeated, but we are still on the hunt for freak talent. Blizzard has shown us the difficulty level they are capable of, and we intend to respond by adding the kind of talent that can learn these fights quickly, and effortlessly. We intend to be stronger than ever going into the expansion. We are looking for true rock stars, plain and simple. People who have easily mastered every spec their class is capable of. People who can play their alts better than most mains in their guild. People who find easy the most difficult content blizzard has to offer. If this sounds like you, keep reading :)

***August 18 - UPDATE***
For the last few weeks we have been clearing Sunwell in an average of 3 hours on our Wednesday raid nights. To keep ourselves entertained outside of official raids, we've been selling some BT runs (reserving key drops for guild of course), doing some PvP, selling bear runs, playing a little beta (those of us who got in), etc. We are looking forward to the expansion.

***October 3 - UPDATE***
Nothing special to report. We've cleared Sunwell in under 2 hours and 30 minutes (http://wowwebstats.com/djopsarakoy3y). I believe at one point we held the record for the fastest posted clear time, still with room for improvement. We really weren't even trying for any record, we just naturally operate fast and efficiently. Bored and zzzzzzz'ing waiting for WotLK :)
*******************

Our US and world ranking is good, but it isn't our selling point. Our main selling point by far is our outstanding raiding efficiency. Our maximum raid hours in a week is 19 (sometimes 1 or 2 more if pushing new content). In this small amount of hours (half that of many guilds above us or below us in rankings) we have managed to keep ourselves as a top tier guild for quite some time now. Before Sunwell of course we didn't make use of our 19 raid hours. We were over 30 Illidan kills and starving for some new content. We typically cleared BT in 3 hours, and Hyjal in a little under an hour and a half. That’s an example of our efficiency. Our efficiency actually cost us a couple of weeks on Shahraz through Illidan, because we had nowhere near the amount of heart of darkness necessary to gear our raid force sufficiently to beat her. We had mowed over content too efficiently for our own good.

This efficiency alone we feel is a big selling point, it’s something we take pride in. But I also stress that efficiency because of the domino affect it has. As a result of being such an efficient guild, we tend to have very low turnover on our members. People don’t burnout as easily here as they would in a typical top guilds 40ish raid hours per week (which are often painful and sloppy). Low turnover on members is obviously very good, not needing to constantly retrain and regear new members which can hurt you badly in sensitive fights (this can lead to more burnout, and more turnover). Our low raid hours allow people to have lives outside the game and still satisfy their competitive drive. Our guild has a very good atmosphere that we feel also stems from our raid efficiency. We are very low on drama, and we have an excellent reputation on our server.

Our official raid hours are Mon/Wed/Fri 6-9 (PST), and Sat/Sun 2-7 (PST). We are looking for people with 95-100% attendance.

So ya, on to the recruiting part of my recruiting post =P

In case our lowish raid hours misled you, let me stress this right now. We are looking for world class talent. We succeed because we have talent, and it’s only fair to compliment your most talented players with recruits equally talented. We are looking for people with excellent awareness, mobility, instincts, reflexes, intelligence. People who love playing their class to the absolute fullest, and not simplifying their class so they can mindlessly spam away and watch TV during raids. From dark glares to the face, craters on Archimonde, and skulls on M'uru. We expect our members to be fully aware of multiple boss mechanics and be putting in a strong effort at all times. We want recruits who can be relied on for the most complex of roles in key boss fights, and still remind other people about their assignments at the same time, without breaking a sweat.

~High Demand~

Paladin: We are looking to add another paladin, but we will only consider you if you are extremely talented, and experienced in all 3 specs, ret, holy, & prot (and freaking HAPPY with any spec). We have quite the long history of emo paladins burning out on healing so I will ask that you do not apply if you hate your life and constantly dream of ret glory =P (though we may recruit you primarily as ret). Keeping blessings up effectively without constantly being told is a must. A quick BoP and taunt reaction time is a must. Excellent awareness is a must. Amazing PvP talent is a huge plus and would definitely get our attention.

~Medium Demand~

Druid: We would like to add a multi talented Druid. Someone who can excel with, and is happy with primarily playing any of the 3 specs. You must have the proper twitch skills associated with playing a melee class (that includes pro tanking). You must be pro at healing, while not losing focus on your surroundings and complex boss mechanics. You must be able to light it up boomkin style. Basically, be a god at everything. If you ever found a boss in WoW hard for you personally, don't bother applying. Amazing PvP talent is a huge plus and would definitely get our attention.

~Low Demand~

At this time, we are pretty deep at every other class. Feel free to apply anyways if you feel your talent is out of this world. We will most likely at least talk to you in vent if your application is truly stellar.

Again I must stress that we are looking for real talent. There is no reason to lie and try to sneak into our guild. If you are not as good as advertised we are gonna find out. Please don’t waste your time or our time unless you are the best of the best.

Since we are focusing on Sunwell it would definitely help to be well geared in bt/hyjal or Sunwell plunder. Some of the bosses are definite gear checks. Still though we may consider people of lesser gear, or even horde rerolls. Just keep in mind that people under those circumstances (especially rerolls) will really need to be able to prove their skill level before we invest in them. Proof can come through PvP rankings, fraps, WWS, or just great confidence. It’s rare, but we have had people reroll to join us several times (typically Baron and myself personally assist in helping someone level if they are a good investment). But you better be worth it :)

If you made it this far and you are still interested in applying (and confident you are what we are looking for) feel free to visit our website ( www.eternalreign.net ) and read/follow the instructions on these posts ( http://forum.eternalreign.net/viewforum.php?f=18 ). You can also message Baron or Wakefield in game, if you don’t see us on you can shoot a tell to one of our members and ask if we are on one of our many alts. If your application is sufficient we can hop in vent and get a feel for your knowledge and skill of the game.

For more general guild information you are free to visit our website, dig around, check out our news updates, read our mission statement, etc...

If I had raided (and played Alliance), I would have hit this up in a second. Sounds very mature and enticing.

Good luck with the recruiting, and go 5v5s :D

Nothing is better than farm status with 1-2 day content clears so you can arena/RL most of the week. I doubt even people that ONLY PvE want to spend more time doing it than they have to.

Yep, I raided 5 days a week pre tbc, it was pretty tears.

For a lot of BC I raided 3 days a week, nowadays I raid 1, sometimes 2 if we do a BT sell run or if we play like tards and have to take some time on a second day to kill KJ.

Bump for Nimh and co.

Indeed, trust me we are all hoping for some kind of fix or cluster merger in the expansion that will make things more competitive :)

It's a problem related to the armory, armory isn't updated for the 3.0 talents, so it reflects it weirdly.
