Ok so Ive been waiting for one of my friends to decide which character he wants to play so I know if I was rolling a horde or alliance :deathknight:. He was choosing between his BE :mage: and his alliance :shaman:. Well actually much to my surprise he picked the :shaman: (hopin they get some love before retail is finalized) so alliance it is.

But now I have been thinking, we mostly did 2v2 with each other on our old characters but had classes that complimented each other pretty well. Now he is most likely gonna be resto which would leave our 2v2 as :shaman:/:deathknight: which from what I hear about the dps DKs have and the lack of a healing debuff that they are mostly best suited in a dbl dps 2v2 comp w/ partners like :mage:,:rogue: or :paladin:

From ppl who are on the beta right now how do you think our arena lives will pan out with this combo. I know we will be fighting an uphill battle but will it be winnable?

As far as 3v3 goes Ive been thinking that we obviously could use someone with a healing debuff that puts out dps which leaves us w/ rogue, warrior and hunter.

Basically if we are looking to just arena should I even bother rerolling a :deathknight: or is that 2s bracket suicide?

Well the problem isn't really ou it's your friend picking possibly the worst class to play in WotLK. He'd be much better off with a Ret Paladin or a Mage regardless if he's gonna play with you or not but of course if he does play with you it's gonna be even better. DK/Ret or DK/Mage will be good.

restosham/DK should be viable.

dps/healer tends to want to outlast, which you will have difficulty doing w/o a heal debuff. it won't be easy

DK's make up for the lack of healing Debuff with blood plague + plague strike hot removal...might be bad against holy pally teams though.
