Well with the nerf to the CD of deathknight's silence making it a 2min timer, do you feel BE will be the clear best horde race to go for deathknight because of the silence ability and it not being on a GCD anymore.
I mean I guess if frost is not the best pvp spec and not everyone has Lichbourne then UD racial cound be very nice. But the silence still seems like the way to go. Anyone on beta know if it also generates runic power and if so how much?

Yeah and zerking costing nothing to cast is aight...but still I think I would rather have wotf or arcane torrent over the movement speed racial anyday
I'm almost leaning toward saying be if they don't lower the cd of strangulate.

i think troll would be a good option if you dont mind looking silly considering that deathknight have a pretty accessable toughness (first tier frost) it's pretty easy to get 45% snare reduction. but i'm not in the beta so i don't know if dk is having trouble staying on targets or not.
orc is nice too now that bloodfury no longer give the debuff, but i heard dk has no burst so the extra ap might not be as game breaking as say snare redux
was going to make a tauren for the extra melee range, but they nerfed that =(

yeah i was starting to think about orc too, the AP racial is like an extra dps trinket but a lot of a DK abilities are not considered melee moves so its not as good as it is for say rogues, warriors or enhancment shaman. The stun reduction is nice too but i dont think DKs have too much trouble with rogues. The pet 5% dmg is nice but only if you spec to get Master of Ghouls (most do atm but things change and ppl might not down the road) and then there is the axe spec which is always gonna be pretty good.
I feel that if strangulate stays as a 2min CD the BE silence will just be too good and if they give them a 4th racial as many think they will that just adds to it. IDK ill have to play it by year and it will definitely come down to me debating w/ myself on th character creation screen before I finally decide.

Death Knights are unique in that while they deal a good amount of damage with spell effects, they have no reliance on +spell damage armor and weapons. Instead their damage is derived from the bas damage + some fraction of their attack power in the following form:
NetDamage = BaseDMG + AttackPower * APC
Where APC equals the Attack Power Coefficient. This value is unique to the individual spell, and the estimated value is listed for each ability below.
The second Death Knight mechanic, Runic Power (RP) functions in much the same way, where the duration and/or damage of an ability requiring RP to activate is given as follows:
Duration = RP/100 * MaxDuration
NetDamage = RP/100 * BaseDMG + AttackPower * APC
Death Knights receive 2 Attack Power per 1 Strength, and none from Agility, similar to Warriors, Bearform Druids, and Shaman. So safe to say that as is now the prime target stats Death Knights are looking for would be very similar to those of a fury warrior in STR/+hit/+crit/+haste and possibly much later down the line +expertise. Stamina obviously is demanded by all classes but I’ve always been the type of player that while leveling (and obviously for PVP server hijynx) stacking a little bit of stamina is a safe bet.
TDLR: AP helps DK spells

wow I just looked up APC's and bloodstrike appears to scale incredibly well with an APC of .6, as opposed to deathcoil which has .217

haha u know something, I knew this and for some reason completely forgot it. Yeah that mechanic makes orcs actually a good choice for the class...now I have three races to debate about again.

yea i'm almost convince with going orc now, as all the racials you get kinda helps you in a way. not as game breaking as say a welltimed arcane torrent or warstomp but it adds up so i think i'll be more happy with it in the long run.

well there is lichborne. I think antimagic shell is like CloS so you can like use it if you predict an aoe fear coming. also there is strangulate, mind freeze and the ghoul stun, They seem to be okay with fears. But having another fear break is always a good thing. I guess in the end it really comes down to personal preference.

I'm goin for an UD DK, as with every other class beside Warrior (and soon warriors too), an extra Fear Breaker can make or break the fight.
