DK nerf on Beta...details plz

Well as the title said, I've heard that there have been some big nerfs to the deathknight's dps among other things making them quite bad. Just wanna know what kind of number changes ppl are seeing on the beta. Also were there any other nerfs u feel were over done?

It's beta and will prob get changed over the next month but still...damn

there was alot of numbers instead of big ones, kinda like a rogue(and the fact that he speced into frost instead of blood so he is lower on crit) and the fact that everyone is using the blue set so i expect them to hit alot harder if they get epic weapons and stuff.

So true. And to the poster a few above, it is an Unholy spec move, not frost, and from other sources I have heard that Frost is the best burst dmg spec for the DK, lots of increased crit talents along with the fact that its a mix of spell and physical to get nice numbers on both cloth and plate.

Also what do you guys think about the new Strangulate CD being 2min? I think the only thing this change will bring about is lots more BE deathknights running around. I was going to be rolling an human DK (considering gnome with model changer) but with this change I think that BE makes the most sense to roll now...to bad I think my friends wanna roll alliance for WotLK

honestly in theory blood seems like the best spec logically considering the following. Frost/unholy abilities have the most utility. The tree you spec in will be your primary source of damage. Using runes for utility will leave them inactive for damage.

It just seems to make sense that you could use your blood runes for things like heart strikes while being able to use things like chains of ice and plague/death strikes for utility, along with obliterates for extra damage should you choose so. Of course i'm not in beta and could certainly be mistaken.

Chains of Ice is a ranged snare that is a total root for the first second, you cannot even begin to compare it to stuff like Hamstring or Shiv, if it could be spammed to the same degree it'd be way better.

You can't really spam it, because it uses up Runes and will eventually (after 2 times) run into a seven second cool down (the first will be 2-3 seconds). As well, it can be dispelled by almost any healer class. So, compared to hamstring it's not all that better.
Also, when you are using this, you can't use your Ice Attack (forgot name) which hinders your damage and takes one plague away.

This is why I kinda want to spec blood. Use heartstrike for damage to leave room for chains of ice and death/plague strikes for utility. And if I have freed up runes I can just obliterate.
