I've read a few posts from some mid-rated players, asking whether or not to replace their T4/5 with S3 pieces for arena. I'm in a similar situation, although my gear level is a fair bit higher on the non-pvp pieces, making it alot more difficult to decide what to spend my points on. I could use some advice...
At the moment I'm playing in a -
2050-2100 2v2 (havent plateau'd yet, but started really late) playing with a excellent resto shaman
1850 3v3 - Resto shaman, warlock, me - again, only started a few weeks ago for a bit of fun. Going to be playing this one a bit more seriously come S3 as it seems to have potential. Lock is SL/SL or UA, depending on his mood.
12 rated 5v5 - ok, so its not 12 rating, but it feels pretty close. Just in this one to help out mates who would be playing 3 fire mages, resto shaman, shadow priest otherwise
Cant link my armory, but I'm 'Tel' on EU-Kazzak. I'm your standard AR/Prep spec (although I've managed to c*ck up a couple of points - respec inc :/) and play with swords at the moment although I have S2 maces - PVP mainhand w/ BT offhand, Daggers - Shard of Azzinoth MH w/ Boundless Agony OH for Muti, and Swords - Warglaive MH, PVP S2 OH. I'm in a bit of confusion at the moment as to what I should pick up for S3.
Armor wise, i use T6 Helm and Legs, with Supremus chest gemmed for resilience/ap, S2 gloves and shoulders, non-set S2 pvp boots, belt, bracers, neck, and rings. Trinket-wise, its the PVP trinket and Battlemasters Depravity (?? - the AP one).
I'm currently going to be capped (or very nearly) on honor and arena points coming into S3. With a focus on 2v2 and 3v3 (as finding a decent 5v5 is pretty tough in guild) what would you recommend me buying?
The non-set pieces are a no-brainer. I'll pick up everything I can straight off, then the rest by the end of the first weekend, easy. Its the set items I'm unsure about... Do I swap out my 2 piece T6 for S3 pieces? Do i replace the S2 pieces I have with S3? At the moment our main issue in 2v2 is Deeva (my shammy) getting burst down by 2dps teams. He's going to be getting alot more resiliance come S3 too, but we're unsure what direction to take our gear. Does anyone have any suggestions ?
