Scourge Strike Theorycraft:
1407 ap, no buffs, unholy aura, and a Broad Axe (3.1 speed 2-h axe, 5-8 dmg)
0-0-51 spec.
Scourge Strike does 69% of weapon dmg + 22 as shadow damage, which ignores armor.
1407 ap / 14 * 3.1 speed = 311 bonus dmg from attack power.
weapon range 5-8, so 315-319 is my autoattack range.
1407 ap / 14 * 3.3 normalized speed = 331 bonus dmg from attack power.
weapon range 5-8, so damage range should be 336-339 for 100% instant strike dmg.
Scourge strike is 69% of weapon dmg + 22, so it should be doing 254-257 shadow dmg.
It actually does 240. The only explanation is it is not normalized.
316-320 is my autoattack range, so 69% of that +22 would be: 240-243 shadow dmg.
Scourge Strike actual Data
scourge strike: 239-241 dmg
Scourge Strike w/ Ebon Plague (applied by frost fever): 27 dmg
240 x 1.13 = 271.2 dmg
Scourge Strike is getting Ebon Plague's 13% bonus.
2nd scourge strike (w/ blood plague and ebon plague): 297 dmg
271 x 1.1 = 298 dmg
Scourge strike is getting the 13% from ebon plague and 10% from Rage of Rivendare when
applied twice.
Now lets see if Black Ice affects Scourge Strike.
Tested w/ same as above but 5/5 Black Ice.
Scourge Strike: 274-276 dmg
Scourge Strike w/ Ebon Plague: 312 dmg
Scourge Strike w/ Blood Plague and Ebon Plague: 340-343 dmg
Scourge strike is receiving the 15% bonus from Black Ice in all three situations.
I tried Plague strike and it is getting 240-242 damage, the same numbers as Scourge Strike did without Black Ice. Plague Strike is therefore also not normalized.
Conclusion:
Scourge Strike is an instant strike based on weapon damage, but is a spell that deals shadow damage and benefits from Black Ice. Ebon Plague/Blood Plague also affect it, but must already be afflicting your target to get the bonus from them. Basically you have to Scourge strike twice to get the full benefit of Ebon Plaguebringer/Rage of Rivendare, as it affects the direct damage as well as the disease damage.
